After a diagnosis of MS landed on my lap, this channel became a way to leave a legacy
while I'm still mobile and able to communicate clearly.
I'm not in this for fame or money, but I do share in the revenue youtube makes from my content.
My original plan was to leave a legacy for both my daughters - for a future time where I'm no longer able to communicate these things to them.
Sometimes a complicated past gets in the way of the present, so one can only plan for the future.

Porsche 924 Headlight fail
Working on my mate's Porsche 924. High beams didn't work, and there was some condensation in the tail lights that needed to be fixed before roadworthy. Being the charitable sort I am, I agreed to help.

I broke my JBL Flip 4 - then fixed it...
did you had any issues with nbn
@@timothythorpe4667 no, it's been rock solid. We had NBN fiber to the node prior yo this and it would drop out when it rained, thunder, power spike, excesdive hot weather, severe wind - or a bird farted 9 miles away. Fiber to the premises has been so solid, we get 7ms jitter and 5ms ping to 8.8.8.8.
does it support 12 v or 9 v dc with out using the step down regulator board you had use?
12v in, 9v out. The switch requires 9v, I had 12v available.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy oh ok... look like they use similar power rail system on 8 port one, it was using 9v dc and i had tried it on 5 , 12 v dc all work, maybe it will able to accept 12 v dc and step down by it self on its internal power regulator
@@ganeryhyperion8386 yeah the internal regulator might be rated to handle up to 15v, but I didn't feel like testing that or looking up the part specs when I had a box of regulator boards.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy lol it failed, the version i had was the Tp link LS105G, which uses maybe only using 5v dc to 3.3v dc 😂... when plug 12v on it the power led was blinking, then i try 9v it powered on for 1 min then the power LED is blinking , the i use back 5v dc the power led is dim and the realtek soc was getting hot then i measure the input voltage it drop the 5v to 2.5v. I guessing the realtek soc was dead short😅😅
@@ganeryhyperion8386 yeah she's dead jim

well when it takes 30kg to depress you need some decent grip.

The 6by is going incredibly. Although, @aussierepairguy was lading from the front, so I only saw it from the rear....

There is a screw just below the sticker where the battery is located.

If your vehicle has syncros you don't need to double clutch
@@skyking6989 you do in this - and the world isn't perfect, some cases call for it. ruclips.net/user/shortsw-WnvUpkxLI?feature=share
@@TheAussieRepairGuy I drive semis. I'm fully aware of double clutching as big rigs don't have synchros
@@skyking6989 I'm off road in a 5 ton 6x6 military vehicle with a 1.5 ton trailer. Its far from flat roads and predicable terrain. I have a 4 speed box with a big jump between ratios. In low range, there isn't enough time or momentum for the tiny synchros in the lt95 gearbix to do their job, especially when i need to engine brake diwn a steep incline. In the city, i need to speed up the changes in order to get through intersections in time. Top speed is about 80km, or 50 miles an hour. Come drive it sometime
@@TheAussieRepairGuy 5 ton? You driving a m923?
@@skyking6989 6x6 land rover perentie ambulance. This video goes over it: ruclips.net/user/shortsw-WnvUpkxLI?feature=share
Not double clutching in a Mack truck, I just rev the engine to the desired rpm and let off the gas and shift without touching the clutch
@@kalel8736 come jump in my old 5ton 6x6 land rover with worn synchros and a 4 speed box sometime. Yeah on the flat and level roads you can slip it into gear without a clutch. I do it in the 4x4 landy all the time. Example: ruclips.net/user/shorts4tAtXPOvqOc?feature=share
Good thing it isn't a big truck or you wouldn't have a clutch brake left fact 💯 👌
Its a 5 ton 6x6 military vehicle. And yes every single person in the comments is an expert.
Nice car!
Nice but tiny
Glow-in-the-dark paint from over 40 years ago
Pretty much. The phospor has degraded so it doesn't glow, but radium lives on.
I still use a calibrated CD V 700 can’t go wrong with a classic 💛 🟨 📺
I love the direction this project is heading. Im in Aus as well. This little rifle has always caught my attention because of its simplicity.
yeah it's not bad, I haven't had much of a chance to use it, went out on a farm that had apparently got on top of their rabbit problem. Also came up with a fairly simple storage solution too: ruclips.net/video/UoZO0t6tcRM/видео.html
I recognise that bloke. He stares back at me in the mirror when I shave.
Hey mate how you going love the video I was wondering if you are actually donate the land rover because I can actually do a project with the Licence do you need the truck licence other wise I've been needing a 4x4 thanks mate
I'm not sure where people get the idea that I'll be parting my my land rovers until I'm in coffin - or MS takes my mobility.
@TheAussieRepairGuy okay sorry about that I hope the windows repair went well I'm looking forward for the next video thanks legend
It always makes it better when you have a friend helping
ok we just got fiber to the home. we are on nbn 100 plan $87 a mouth how much are you payng for that sort of speed.
No its still Pritty shit we are still struglig to get 1gb Nz lowest speed is 1gb its imbarsing if you ask me.
if you are only getting 100mbps you are only making use of 1/10th of the available bandwith, I pay about $99 a month for 250 down 40mbps up. the full speed is 1000mbps (1 gigabit)
@@TheAussieRepairGuy wow who are you gowing throw we are throw spintell. and are now locked in for 6 mouths.
@@Madman117-k4o I went aussie broadband.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy ok thank you
You mean from 2 World war the radiation is still on them .
They are radium dial gauges. The radium stays radioactive for an extremely ling time, but the phosphor degrades, leaving them radioactive even though they don't glow any more
Without showing the shifter, this will only confuse people.
Shifter is in the background, look more carefully. Right hand drive in Australia.
The door lock, it looks like the same we had at work, lasted over 25 years, just recently updated to wireless electronic version. Boots, I would not go back to just laces, I have had zip-ups for a long time, bending down at my age for extended periods of time, is not good for back or joints, so zip-ups are great. You don't wear out the laces and I have, as well as you probably have, found no longtime problems with the side zip and Velcro. A switch on the EHT probe is unusual, I have only seen switch on probes that output EHT in insulation testers.
@@tomgeorge3726 yeah that EHT probe is a big mystery to me.
Radiacode recently sent me a 103 to review as well: ruclips.net/video/UarDfS6mqC8/видео.html
I got radiacode 3.00, and on the factory, they're making a new one that cost more than my . I was surprised that I got rocks from a lake, and each did give the smallest reading when put together . I got new reading more than one rock .Did get a lot of elements on the rocks
Radiacode recently sent me a 103 to review, I did a longer video on it: ruclips.net/video/UarDfS6mqC8/видео.html
Nice drive
A spectrometer with that size detector is practically useless. In fact it isn't capable of stopping gammas beyond a few hundreds of kev. That is not a spectrum of an uranium source.
Radiacode sent me their 103 model - and bot the 101 and 103 seem fairly spot on when calibrated properly, and picking my test sources. I'm impatient and don't wait the 2-3 days needed for the nice clear spectrum readout that you are obviously accustomed to with far more accurate and expensive gear. In my case I need to make a fairly crude determination between man made and NORM. If you want a bit more detail on this - and an example of cleaner spectrums, try this video: ruclips.net/video/UarDfS6mqC8/видео.html
I literally can’t stand to hear the Australian “ accent “ It’s nonsense. Speak English.
No repair required. When there's a line of oil dripping off the tub floor, it's time to contemplate repairs.
lol yeah, unfortunately I don't want that to happen while I'm out bush
@@TheAussieRepairGuy Bush tracks and gravel roads make it easier. When it's all dust a no fresh oil, you know it needs topping up again. Consider it a factory fitted anti corrosion system.
@@aaronnoyb it's a galvanised chassis and aluminium body. The only thing I've seen those cathodic protection things benefit is boats. As I don't have the pontoon kit for my rover, it's unlikely to be a good return on investment. what you see as rust under there, is dirt.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy You misunderstood my comment, I was saying the pinion seal oil leak is a form of anti corrosion system, as it keeps a film of oil on everything. A misguided attempt at humor. Ignore me, carry on.
@@aaronnoyb ahh yes I follow now - yes I have heard that said before too. I also get many comments that get auto held for review, and many of them are people aggressively suggesting things I should do, or being angry that I don't do things exactly how I would - as a result I go in a little primed to read stuff like that. I really need to stop looking at that section.
Did your axle have a breather valve? Couldn't hurt to check that, too. A clogged valve will cause those 3 seals to leak.
@@joeverweire6095 yeah the breathers are clear. I know that's a common problem.
Leaking brake drum problem? Probably fake drums. Mine never leaked. I think it’s because my drums all metal and I never got them hot enough to melt and leak out.
@@andrewbanit4884 nah been like this since I got it from military. Last I looked it's either brake cylinder or drive flange seal. Just been putting off fixing it.
If it’s leakin there probably an axel seal, if it’s leak at the input shaft of you diff probably a pinion seal
@@D3CK_co yeah most likely on the money there
It wasn't until the late eighties in New Zealand that we realised it wasn't normal for cars to leak oil
@@markfisher5628 lol yeah I can certainly relate to that

looking at the ground clearance I would assume a hoist is essential. The feel I get though is that I have seen plenty worse.
My dad owns a limo zine
That would be interesting to see. Never been in one myself.
@@TheAussieRepairGuy yeah they are hard to drive as a kid in drove it in the paddock and it did not like the mud it is a 1900 model
The Army mechanics are complaining about servicing the G Wagens, and their inability to be field serviced. I have heard rumours they are now looking at Lamd Cruisers, instead, which would be a sad day. And, everything to do with that car, I'm going blame the lunatic owner.....
they trialed land cruisers once before, about the same time as project perentie.
I just need to state that I will continue to do land rover content, just not exclusively.
That’s way too deep on that clutch!
@@rishardcollins2695 lots of play in it, you gotta go right to the bottom or it doesn't disengage.

Glad to have helped.
Why double clutch on gear shift?
@@user-fu2kp2it8c you don't drive a heavy vehicle I assume?
Mate, i understand what your saying and doing what you want is the prerogative of being the channel creator. Make what you want or what you feel will benefit your kids. I will say that finding videos on fixing perentie's is very difficult so finding your channel has been incredible so thank you for your hard work. Its helped me work on mine. If you dont make it anymore, then thank you for what you've helped me with so far. Youve earned a subscriber.
There will for sure be more land rover content, just not going to do it exclusively. got a channel fan coming down from QLD to do some land rover specific videos with me. I try to keep a land rover video out there each week, but I have so much other stuff as well. Been working on a porsche 924 lately, as well as doing some sponsorship stuff for radiacode. so theres a broad mix coming
ive got 102 and 103g, loving them... gettibg more cases for them lol found all sorts here in nz - natural wise.
@@biglogied5142 yeah I've been busy with mine, got more videos on the editing desk at the moment
Hey mate, your health comes first and foremost, do on your videos what you like, they are great. Hope you have lots of fun with the Landy's. I had a couple myself, a series 2a and a 3 back in the eighties and had a great love/hate relationship with them. The bloody things grow on you. They have lots of "character". Still have a soft spot for them. Have to work out why someday. 😊
I don't have much option but to look after myself first, and I know they do grow on you, I go places now and find myself explaining to people that "the track isn't too bad", only to see them give me a really skeptical look, and then later call me when they got stuck in their rav4 or something.
