I'm so delighted with what you did with that instrument. You should feel very proud of yourself!
delightful
Very cool. Great playing. Sounds amazing. How often do you have to tune it?
@@BigHairyCrank the 4’ every few days. The 8’s are more stable, which is typical.
@@fluffkitten4339 I always see the tuning hammer in your videos. I have a clavinet with 60 strings. At least once a week for me.
jacks instruments have such a nice resonance . im jealous of a harpsichord with bass!!! *cries over my troubador* jk its dope
the instrument sounds fantastic
goes hard
Very nice! This harpsichord has a very attractive sounding front 8' register. ❤
You are a very gifted person with much talent.
awesome instrument and player *~~~bravo~~~*
Ahh ole red ... Shes noice .... Thanks Jack for making such wonderful instruments for us 🙏
Beautiful performance and instrument!
What were those scales, I know that is amazing fingering. I tried an improvisation course once. It was a dream come true. I use the description option for my content. I will now become forever rudimentary and gutsy. But thank you so much for making this day in our house. I have more work ahead.
What a nice collection of instruments on your channel! Impressive! Are they all in your own home? Really very nice, and also great to hear such a diversity of pieces and composers, played on clavichord, harpsichord, and grand piano 👍🏻🎹 Kind regards, greetings from The Netherlands, Simon
Thanks! They’re divided up into projects or functioning instruments. Depending upon what work is needed, I take them to the shop
Do you have an exact year for this piano?
I no longer have the instrument, but I think it was 1796
Love this - music from this period is becoming much more heard now - wonderful maestro and restorer.
full of feeling and grace.
You are very gifted Spencer thanks for the comments about my wife's birthday . I love Couperin's music so deep and spiritual.
Lovely pavane. So Spencer is now restoring harpsichords?! Cats love baroque music. It fits their calm temperament. I believe that they have their musical preferences too. My current cat prefers Bach; my last cat preferred Vivaldi. Smart creatures!
I, Xiang-Xiang, use the name Spencer on Facebook. More people know me by that name.
I love watching your cat's reactions to the music. Interesting instrument. Looks like a "broken" bass octave? Do you know if Jack Peters is still active? A local treasure in the Seattle region.
Just a short octave, no splits. Jack Peters has long since retired, and has been in an assisted living facility for the last several years. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting him twice. He has made some really nice instruments over his very long career. I’m happy to say I’ve owned several, and now this quite nice double.
nicesu
A very nice performance.
who composed this??? luv it
Louis Copeurin, Pavane
Nicely played. Although most of your performances are in the faster tempi, your playing style in this slow tempo allows you to display your talent piu espressivo e rubato.
Wow this is so beautiful
Clavisimbalum 💜✨
I'm playing this on the piano, and I'm glad to hear it on the harpsichord to help me with my own interpretation. Thank you for the video!
Very touching. Congratulations!
Lovely
I have transcribed this for myself; but now I'm curious, is this in either volume of Fitzwilliam? I have both volumes, please let us know the title of the piece, I love it!
Diferencias sobre el canto llano del Caballero, by Cabezon
@@fluffkitten4339 Thank you
Is that instrument still available? I would love to know more. Kudos to the maker!
Long since sold, however, I think there is another for sale in Portland.
Extraordinaire ! Merci beaucoup pour votre partage.
This clavycitherium IS NOT a baroque instrument . It is from XIV century!. What do you understand for baroque?.
It has 45 keys, which is not after the original. It is more late renaissance, as I had mentioned in a previous comment on this post.
i showed my neighbor this video to showcase the instrument , however he set the video at 2x speed. he said "wow that young man can really play!" id did think it sounded a little ridiculous for some reason . like a fast harpsichord piece with the harmonies of a slower tempo composition ... now theres a compositional idea ....
Beautiful music and great clavichord performance. Thank you for sharing. Video 👍
Wonderful as always! 😁
I like the sound of the clavichord. I would like to buy one, but I'm too old to learn to play any instrument decently! 🎶🎹🎼🎵
Beautiful!
hoping to own a clavichord that plays half as good as that one . wow it was really special . lovely playing sire!
so cool as always
wow incredible piece of music ! and stellar playing . who composed this?
wow that thing sounds excellent
Great sounding harpsichord😮
Wow, amazing! We have a Flemish style harpsichord made by this maker. I've never been able to find any information about him, do you know anything? (I'm pretty sure it's a "him"?) This is the only other instrument by him that I've seen. Nice playing too, BTW.
Oh neat! Is yours green, by chance? I made a Facebook post regarding Sender/Sandy Fontwit. The few answers I got all mentioned he’s now, or was, in New Zealand. He made only Flemish harpsichords I believe.
@@fluffkitten4339 Very interesting. I'd love to find out more about him, and/or any other instruments he's made. He's not listed in any the several well-known books of harpsichord makers. And yes, our harpsichord is green. In fact, it's the one seen here: ruclips.net/video/bvljG5NAz_A/видео.html The construction techniques seem relatively primitive -- which in some sense perhaps makes it more authentic as a Flemish/Ruckers style instrument. But the tone is really nice, as I notice yours is too.
@@satanbane ah yes. That one used to live at a church near here.
@@fluffkitten4339 Yes, we bought it in Seattle from Henry of the Harpsichord Shop. Now it's in San Diego. Apparently it was built in San Francisco, so it's been bouncing all around the West Coast! If it's the same church where we bought it, I've heard some lovely Baroque music performed there, on several occasions.
@@satanbane I actually would eventually like to see another one of Sandy’s harpsichords. This muselar has so much character. Makes me wonder if I even need another harpsichord!
A beautifully decorated instrument with a beautiful sound! 🎶🎼🎹🎵
Very rare and interesting instrument with a beautiful sound! 🎵🎹🎼🎶
Very colorful instrument indeed.... and with a fine performer showing all the colors with beautiful appropriate repertoire! I loved it.
That is very unique. I have been wanting to get a hold of a small positiv organ like this but they're hard to come by
Beautiful instrument. Why not give it a C/E short octave bass?
