      If you got the af assist beam switched on in the flash menu, the flash will automatically detect if the af beam is needed for the given scene or not. So it might be that you scene is bright enough and the beam doesn’t come on. Opposite wise if it’s to dark it should come on automatically. Easiest way to find out switch the lights off and see how the flash reacts in a dark environment

    After you exposed the background and turned on the flash the live view changed. This is something that also happens in my sony and I really cant see how my exposure is working unless I turn off the flash. The live view "simulates" the flash. Is there a way to stop the camera from simulating the flash in the live view?

    • @FlorianFrickel
      @FlorianFrickel Месяц назад

      You need to go into your flash menu settings and set the flash exposure to ambient only then it won’t adjust the picture and estimate how it would look like with flash. It will only show the ambient exposure without flash even if the flash is turned on

    I have been using Z6II which was not bad, but still falling in AF especially in tracking subject. Realized that no camera besides probably Canon will match my needs so I bought last week used RX100m2 for approx 65USD and its very nice “toy” for such a price. Compared to my iPhone 13 it has very similar output, but gives me several options for night sky capture and also more reach when speaking about zoom. At the end I would use it as daily driver for family photos capturing jpeg+raw together to may tweak selected photos in post - ofc using single point af ;-)

    how to nail the perfect - can you show how to read color histogram

    • @FlorianFrickel
      @FlorianFrickel Месяц назад

      Colour histogram is pretty similar to the normal histrogram the only difference is that the normal histogram gives you the overall exposure reading and the colour one gives you red green and blue. And tell you which colour is how exposed. If you know how to red the normal one you will understand the colour one. If your colour histogram is further to the left means is darker/under exposed further to the right then it’s at some point over exposed. Easy test take a correct exposure of the sky when you have blue sky with clouds and then over expose and you should see the difference in the blues of the histogram

      Let’s be realistic it’s a huge-ish and kinda heavy lens but having the availability and flexibility is great. The lens closes fairly quick down to the aperture of f2.8,however I personally use it a lot at f2.8 so I don’t need to worry about the aperture. Unless I shoot 35mm@f2.
