How to Fix JAMMED Greenworks G MAX 40V Hedge Trimmer
Просмотров 45 тыс.4 года назад
I was giving our Greenworks Hedge trimmer a workout when it JAMMED hard. It stopped cutting. The motor still had power and was trying to move, but the cutting bar wasn't moving. So I took it apart to fix it. Then I jammed it hard again, and decided to video the repair to help you. Let me know if you find it useful. I refined my repair by watching a video of a Kobalt 40V Hedge Trimmer repair, wh...
Thanks u save my Life
Thanks for this. Worked immediately.
I was able to fix my trimmer following this simple video, had to take it apart and 'un-bind' the gear but it was really easy. Took less than 20 minutes but had to watch it a few times as I was trying to un-bind the gear. Thanks for taking time to make this video, would have never figured out how to repair it (saving me ~$140 to buy a new new trimmer).
You saved the day. I almost bought a new one. Thanx!
You legend! Thanks for this!
Thank you so much. I logged in just to say thank you. All of the similar videos were not effective. You pinpointed the problem in less than a minute except I lightly tapped the first blades on the edge with a claw hammer. I noticed the blade position shifted so I fired it up and it worked. As the motor powered the blades I seen a tiny twig fly out. That small particle jammed the blades. The first solution was all I needed. Like and subscribe well earned.👍👍
I tries this too many times didnt work
A few taps on the end as shown in the first 30 seconds of this video did the trick for me. Big thumbs up for Alden... Thank you. Now I don't need to slice another extension cord using my old fallback trimmer next week. Audience; You can read further, but be forewarned that I'm just complaining about Greenworks lack of support. 🙂 I wish I would have found this video before spending 4 separate 30+ minute hold sessions, in vain, waiting for Greenworks "Support" to answer the phone, well within business hours. Seriously, why have a support line in the first place?... They tell you the whole time they have you on hold that they are going to answer, and they clearly have zero intention of ever answering... so the whole time you're on hold they're lying to you. So, fallback to the online "support", which is ridiculous... 2 and a half hours spent between hold-time and online support attempts, yet not a single suggestion as to how to remedy the problem, or so much as check on warranty status... ..... .... Seems they at least could have suggested what is shown in the first 30 seconds of this video,... that obviously was simple enough... So essentially, I just worked 25% of a Greenworks support agent's shift and received no compensation for it or benefit at all for it, undoubtedly because they have chosen to 'save money' by shifting to an exclusively online support model, mostly run by a non-sentient robot that is unlikely to ever be able to solve any issues. Might have to check out a different brand when the time comes.
Do i push it left or righht?
left
Thank you!! Unfortunately I had to do the long way, but able to follow along perfectly.
Dude, you saved me $100; thanks!
The 80V, 60V X-Range edition, and Greenworks Commercial 82V have a Reverse switch to unjam the blades.
Thanks 👍 I was just about to buy a new trimmer, used your no tools method and boom, worked first time.
Thank you. The tapping worked. 😀
Thanks you so much. I’m not very handy and this video made it super simple and it worked! God Bless you for helping out!
Thanks so much, and your exactly right, I was trying to cut a limb to big for the cutter and it jammed up 😆😅🙄Great job. At least I was able to put new grease in it 🤗👍🤗
Thank you . This video saved me from taking my new saw to the shop.😊
Thank you 🙏🏻 followed exactly and fixed my hedge trimmer today
Great vid, thx. The blades on my GW pole hedge trimmer are worn out. I’ve sharpened the moving/cutting parts but the anvils are badly worn and can’t be fixed, so the cutting action isn’t clean. Unfortunately, GW don’t seem to supply replacement blades. Are you aware of any other blades which would fit?
Sorry I haven’t gotten to this point with mine. Let us know if you end up finding a solution. Thanks!
Sadly this product is a heap of crap. Used it twice. Jammed and cannot un jam. Not inclined to repeatedly take it to pieces. Garbage item. Never buy it.
Tapping it lightly against a curb edge worked like a charm. Thank you!
thanks Mr.Bushnell just couple tap its work perfect👍👍👍👍👍👏
Is the indicator light red or green if charger is connected properly?
Thank you so much for this vid, worked for me as this was the same problem with mine.
Thank you, just tried the tap method and it started right up.
I accidentally popped that tab out how can I get it back in?
Look for a bent tooth blade blocking the trim action before doing anything lol. I tapped mine, still jammed so was prepared to disassemble but decided to look at the teeth first. At the end was a bent blade. I secured the blades w a cloth/and wore a glove so I didn't get sliced and slowly, w vice grips to bent it back out of the way and it now works great be again.
Man I never realized it was this easy bet I've sent at least two back, this time I did your first method and it worked again! Keep it up.
Can't believe it! One little rap on the botttom as shown (mine was left side) and instantly it works again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!
Thanks so much! I had to do option 2 but it worked exactly as you said it would!
Something is seriously wrong with mine. Starts smoking when I try and use it. Need to return it but I bought it last year off Amazon and it sat for over a year on the box.
Great video. Worked great. Was able to get my hedge trimmer fixed using the advice.
Thanks, this helped me :)
i want to say thank u for making this video....for almost a yr my trimmer was down....and after watching this video u just saved me money from going out and buying a new one....i did just how u did by turning the gear and boom....it was back to working....i took actual channel lock pliers.....lol and turned it without using a wrench and i am happy now that i can finally trim these bushes down lol....thank u again for this video
thank you sir worked great just tapped it on the blade
Thank you for taking the time to show this repair. I lost about 1 hr of time in trimming, but was lucky enough to find your video and I'm back in the yard doing my work.
It took more taps than I'd hoped but it worked! You're a magician, thanks!
Thanks a lot! Your instructions helped me fix my brand new trimmer.
Another tip is to loosen the nuts and bolts holding the 2 blades together and then see if this unjams it - it worked with mine where your 2 methods unfortunately didn’t. Admittedly mine was the articulated pole trimmer.
Nice job. Subbed.
Thanks for creating this video. Unfortunately I have had this problem over a half a dozen times. I’m currently on my third Greenworks hedge trimmer sent to me by Greenworks support. My warranty is now up, so your approach will come in handy.
Thanks for posting option 1 resolved my issue
Was hoping this was my problem it's not but this definitely made it more tight I think my battery dead though 😔
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Just had this problem and followed your steps and it worked like a champ! Went out and trimmed a couple of scrubs to make sure it worked correctly and no issues! Thank you very much for doing this instructional video!
Thank you so much. Method one worked perfect for me.
Tap tap did the trick! Amazing. The quickest fix ever
I put off getting this fixed for too long, didn’t think to check YT until today- quick and simple fix banging on the ground…thank you for sharing this tip!
Thanks for the guide.
Thanks, great tip, method 1 worked, thankfully, and we now know to be more careful what to use it on!
