Home Haunter in Ojai California. Moreno Manor is the name of our haunt. Follow us from planning, building, up until show time. Get a basic idea how it is to run a small non profit home haunt. We also post DIY Halloween projects that myself and my family made for our Home Haunt, CalHauntS and the Ojai Haunted Hayrides, located at the Boccali Ranch Pumpkin Patch. We also love Ojai and is haunted history and sharing with you the ghosts of Ojai. I like sharing and learning so please comment and let me know what you all think!

The Boat Fog and Lake

How we created our little lake scene, with the low lying fog. We hooked up our fog machine to a blower fan and it blew the fog into the tub with our Ultrasonic Fogger from there the fog was pressurized and pushed out the tubes into the lake area. We used low laying fog juice, & water. Ojai Haunt

The Cabin and Outhouse

How we build our cabin facade and where we got the outhouse. Maily the cabin was built by using free pallet wood and scrap would we got for free from neighbors. Ojai Haunt

Transforming our front porch into the lodge! The old radio at the end was playing, The Teddy Bears picnic from 1932 and well that was copyrighted so RUclips replaced it. 😆 Ojai Haunt

I ordered my Embers 7/8/24 - it's now been over a month and I have nothing - how bad is Party City?
Wow, I would contact your local Party City and see when they will be in stock and look up your order. They don't ship them. Party City was amazing for me, the manager of my store was very helpful.
@@OjaiHaunt I pre-ordered 7/8 & got an email saying it should arrive 7/16. Then I got an email it was delayed to 7/18. Now 8/9 and no word. I pre-ordered from Home Depot and got their stuff 2 days later! I fear Party City going the way of Bed Bath Beyond
It’s been two years since the upload. I’d say the black spray paint worked well. The “overspray” added a lot of depth and shadowing to the tentacles. Nice job! Great fun!!

I want to come walk through the inside of a jack o’lantern! Even with a “scaled back” haunt I know you’re going to put a ton of effort into it. You can’t stop!

They now sell diff colors, we got 2 grey ones to use! Of course we are going to distress them. I guess the grey color just removed the full painting step.

What kind of fog machine are you using?
At 7:05 it's a smaller Spirit fogger 400watt.

Love this! Pumpkins will always be Halloween so this prop will always be in demand. Simple but big impact! I like the green light best.

I'm not doing Halloween this year. Several reasons but mostly because I have no help left at home, just me. You were my inspiration for years, lol. Still are. PS.. I have a couple storage bins of "tiki" stuff. Lol. Wished you lived close enough to come get it.
@@BeeHus2256 I understand, I'm pre planning on the next two years because Halloween is on Friday and Saturday. After that I'm doing a major downsizing. Might need to use my shed for tiki puffers. Wish you were closer too.
Would the inside of your home be visible from the outside when this is on?
No, just make sure the inside is dark. Once you turn on your lights the effect wouldn't work.

What format is the audio in that you sell on etsy / what software do you use to edit? I have something very specific I want to do but you've got most of the sounds already so figured I'd buy that as a starting point and edit from there.
Hi 👻 it's a MP3 file, you can edit it in any audio or video program.

Can you stack them on top of each other without them breaking, or do you need the system to store them that high?
You can definitely stack them. I had 5 high once stacked on top of each other.

I struggled with setting it up the day of and the cd was broke that came with it. Did you have it playing with an auction cord or how did you do it?
I downloaded it into a mp3 player and used a AUX cord to the speaker 👻 at 1:09 in the video it shows how I set it up.

I always love seeing you guys' haunt videos! We're a home haunt as well and have grown a little bit every year. I may have asked this before, but what is your storage situation (the question all home haunters always get asked😂) I would also love to know if you are "free", "free will donation" or if you charge a fee. We're looking to restructure the way we do things and I'm trying to look at what people who do what we do are operating... Love your work!
We are 100% free, we don’t even take donations. I sometimes get free props given to me, but that’s rare now. I used to work for a haunt event for 10+ years and when you take money it’s a whole different world. If you ever want to chat you can message me on IG. We invested in a Tuff Shed for storage and here is a video on that. Set ups take a lot out of you the older you get. My son always helped. He moved to Southern California so now it's just me and I had to face facts.. I'm getting older and I cannot do it all alone. 😩
It’s definitely getting hard, set up too. We are slowly scaling back to something still epic but smaller and easier to set up.

You must get a good chuckle when you buy things like that teddy bear knowing you’re going to chop its head off and put a bloody set of fangs on it. 😂 What a fun haunt. Who had to drink all the PBR for the first tent scene? The sacrifices we must make as haunters… 😄 And the last drop of water hanging from the skeleton’s canteen. You think of everything! Wish I could’ve been there!
Thanks, this was such a fun year…I do go over board with the details but then I get to keep some. I got the patch off Etsy, I wasn’t really looking for it, but it popped up and I had to have it. It now on my camping jacket. Thanks for the comments. 🎃
