There were actually quite a few people this election who were Lutheran at some point. Bachmann was WELS up until about 2 year ago. Ron Paul was raised a Lutheran, Gingrich was a Lutheran at one point. Gary Johnson was a Lutheran but is now non-practicing. I feel like I am forgetting someone.

Garrison Kellior was not Lutheran. He was Brethren. He wrote about Lutherans (and Catholics). He is now Episcopalian.

Interesting topic. As we have been created in God's image, with some characteristics of God, some not, one of the things we do is create. On a small scale. Re-configuring matter to be micro chips, silicone, LEDs. Hardly God's creation. What happens when we create AI? If we do, can we join with the machine? If we did, would we still be human? If we were, could we live forever? Would that be the antithesis of Christ, would that be the mark of the beast, the re-created tower of Babel?
