What you might not know, is that you where only 5 minutes away from one of the best seafood places in Denmark when you where in Hanstholm.... The old smokerie (Det Gamle Røgeri). Best seafood ever..... nice video.

Wi-Fi is pretty cheap here in DK. I pay £23 for a 1000/100 connection. Free Wi-Fi can be found in many places, such as Marina's, Libraries, City Halls, Trains and buses. Libraries often have a "big hole" to the internet. Tourist Information is also a good place to look for free Wi-Fi. It all comes back to the government, about 20 years ago, decided that the country should become paperless. In the start it went a little slow, but the government wouldn't have it. So a law saying that public authorities were not allowed to send out in paper format any more was adopted. That really helped. I haven't received any snail mail from authorities, insurance, or bank the last 12 years. I love it, no more important papers in the drawer, all digital. Filing my tax, usually takes under 10 minutes. Sitting behind my computer in my underwear 🙂 It really is nice.

You should definitively visit Denmark in the summer (July. August or early September), Because of the countless islands (Not counting Greenland and the Faroe Islands) and water all around, "tiny" mainland Denmark has more than 7,300 kilometers of coastline/beach (or more than 4500 miles), which is actually more than Spain and Turkey and slightly less than Italy, including 250 Blue Flag beaches and 50 Blue Flag marinas, so it's fairly easy finding crowd-free beaches.

Im also a self confessed Francofile, like you I absolutely love the place, I'm not a heat lover so I go the Dordogne for 3 months every winter (Feb-Apr) and stay on a paid Aire in a little place called Montignac, which is north from you a few miles, its know for the Lascaux Caves which I think is a World Heritage site too, plus it too has a canoe hire place, Montignac is on the Vézère River..

Are you allowed to spend the night on the beach in a vehicle there?

Very nice videos..... Medova is just about the crappiest tea you can get..... If you ever come to Denmark again, and close to Copenhagen - you have to visit Perchs Tea Trade (Perchs tehandel)- It is - by far - the best tea shop in Northern Europe!!!! They can blend or make you the best tea ever!!!!!

Hi Guys, we are off to drive the WAW in September and just wondered how dog friendly you found places, in particular beaches. There appear to be restrictions for Blue Flag beaches, but wondered if you had any issues with the dogs off lead? Ta. Happy travels :)

Rajb? Never heard of it. Ribe is pronounced exactly like its spelled. Ri says ri, be says be. Two syllables Ri-be. I suppose you could spell it reebeh in English.

Iv just found this video and its great, im going up min my van for a min of a 4 month tour from mid October and yes I love the cold wintery weather..😊😊, from Banbury im going up for a few days in the Lakes then go via SW Scotland then up the West coast via Glencoe, I will be on the Isle of Harris over Christmas ad I will be swimming in the water at Luskentyer Beach on Christmas Day....
