Great question! They get dull/grey in color as the old skin starts to separate from the new skin underneath. Then once it’s ready to come off, it loosens and starts to break off. Lizards shed in patches so it’s pretty easy to see old from new

It can be a little tricky. I forget the exact way to do it, but I remember you measure from the top of the top track to the bottom of the bottom track and then subtract, I think it was like 3/8”? Depends on how big the track is. You need enough play to fit the glass in but still be secure enough in the track

Uncovered, potentially, depending on the set up. This enclosure has proper ventilation and all of the wood surfaces are covered and not directly exposed to any moisture. This cage has been up for multiple years now and still is just as good today as it was day 1

@@matthewparker9398 personally, no. It’s a more expensive material and looks to be a bit more difficult to work with and make something that looks good and doesn’t sag/warp

Oh yea he’s a dick haha. He seemed to be doing a lot better….i got complacent and got a good bite from him. I think a lot of it is he can see another adult male so he’s just constantly in attack mode

@@gbliguanas1759 losing weight in the base of her tail definitely, but i took her to the vet a week ago and they said she was fine, they did bloodwork and xrays and nothing alarming. She'll occasionally eat a grape or two

You’re 100% correct. If you force it off before it’s ready it can potentially be harmful. Every species does shed differently. These guys shed in big pieces and the skin in the video is absolutely ready to come off 👍🏻

@@pyro6053 absolutely. Snakes should be shedding all one piece. Most lizards, especially larger lizards, are practically always shedding a different part of their body
