It definitely isn't great chances for hitting but having it there as an option to start getting cards into the trash early to start setting up gecko and rebecca combos is ideal

without rebecca it's tough building the trash to make gecko worth it. You can take the rebecca / most geckos out ND sub in 8 sabo and issho for crazy combos

I actually do have a couple op07.5 list I've been testing. I think Moria is in a very good position with Lucci being slightly hit and RP law out of the picture. Would an updated video be helpful?

C8 Sabo is good but for some bodies you would still need to be able to minus cost your opponents characters, unless you have 1 cost events that can minus such as Ice Age in hand there is nothing much you can do since Sabo is 8Don himself already. Stussy just trashes whatever is on board no matter the cost of the opponents character.

So when you say its really bad did you try running the list? Since OP07 came out there have been 27 Gecko's that have topped events. 0 of them ran the cards you mentioned at all 4 of's. None of them ran 6c Brook or the 5c Luffy though I can see how they would be helpful in black matchups. I think the deck operates just fine in those matchups as long as you play to the decks strengths and focus on going wide rather than removal.

Facts. I beat Enel all the time. Tons of people play it at my locals. I can't remember the last time I lost to it.

I think at this point there isn't going to be much variation to an Enel list. Outside of NA I know Enel has won a regional and has multiple tops this set so it is definitely a strong deck but along the lines of a skill check deck. Is it unbeatable, of course not, but we need some clickbait somewhere XD

Hey, great question. I just rewatched that section and looking back I think going Sakazuki there instead of the Sabo would be the right choice. I think in the moment I was too focused on getting a blocker but Sakazuki would've been the better option in that scenario. Nice catch!

Hmm, Sabo is honestly a staple in all black decks right now because of it's cycle and board protection. If you need to substitute it I would play 4 cost Borsalino since it can't be K.O'd by effect

Very interesting question. I would say BY Luffy would become the most irrelevant out of the 3. I think Gecko and Lucci could find some areas to pivot since the navy package, cp package, and thriller bark package are all strong respectively

I’m assuming you are talking about the Garp he played off the Moria. I think it was just an oversight on my part. Wasn’t thinking about during the game but it definitely is the right choice to swing with lead into it

@@alfredfuentes7586 That’s a good question. I think cost wise it’s technically beginner friendly. Complexity wise I would probably lean towards no. I think if I had someone who was new to the game I would start them with either a Green, Blue, or Yellow deck because I think it’s easier to learn the fundamentals of the game with those colors.

@@Reikouh dang, I opened a OP06 box and a buddy of mine gave me a lot of bulk and managed to almost fully build this deck :’( any recommendation on a decent beginner leader to focus on?

@@alfredfuentes7586 You can definitely still play the deck even if you are a newer player. I would probably recommend Bonney as a leader to start with, only downside is it might be a more expensive deck. If you have most of the cards for gecko you can very much play the deck, the deck plays to its going first or second curves very well, the majority of complex thought in this game comes down to when to counter/take life, when to protect units/ let them die, and when to go after your opponents board versus their life. I would recommend watching my profile for gecko to see if that helps learn some lines of play or rewatch this video so you can study the thought process behind choices.

The deck really does have a good curve first or second. But if I had to choose Go First: Enel, Blue Doffy, Boa, Mirror Match. Go 2nd: Lucci, RP & RG Law, Bonney, BY Luffy, Perona, Reiju

You can definitely get away without running Stussy and just run another Isho or even an 8 drop Sabo. She is really there as an emergency button. As for running 11 2ks instead of 12, I needed to make space for some higher cost reduction i.e Helmeppo and Ice age. So Tsuru was the only slot I felt going down by 1 since we run 8 other 2ks that we can recur through Rebecca and Hogback

Love to hear it! I'm glad you think the deck could be some fun and that you pulled the leader. I really do think this deck performs very well into this meta if you can perfect the style of play

Lucci is definitely on the list to showcase Moria vs Lucci. Some advice in the meantime, be very selective when you are using your bodies to attack because we want to make it as difficult for them to clear our units so if they have a rested unit to attack into all the time and also be able to clear our active units, the matchup becomes very hard for us to maintain a board presence.

Haha 😝. You 100% could and should. I can see the title now "I swept my locals with only a Starter Deck". As for my locals, its a very competitive scene, we have a lot of players who top regionals as well as Top 64 at Nats so the player base we have is very strong. Also lets be honest, 9-0 is super eye catching 🤣
