⚠️ SPOILERS AHEAD! ⚠️ First off, apologies for a bit of blurriness due to some lighting issues! A24 has returned with their latest horror release, Heretic! *This review does contain SPOILERS at the 10-minute mark!* Damien Leone has returned with the third installment in the Terrifier franchise! Surprising Twist: The Speak No Evil Remake Is Actually Good?! | Review (Contains spoilers! )

I finally got around to seeing Blumhouse's Speak No Evil remake. I've said in the past that I was not looking forward to this one, mainly because it felt so unnecessary given how good the original is and that it was only released two years ago. But I have to admit, I had a good time with this one! While I still prefer the darker tone of the original, you can't deny the power of James McAvoy! Wh...

thank you for your valuable movie reviews you are the only one I trust. check out the street trash remake much gorier than the late 80's actually its more of a sequel i enjoyed it its pretty much a gorefest \ the government is foooking with and killing the homeless. it's not the exorcist its more toxic avenger but i enjoyed it. i can tot wait for terrifier 4 also longlegs with nick cage was pretty decent going to watch the hangman next and then v/h/s beyond. enjoy you thanksgiving with your family and a merry Christmas and happy new year I bet all the budget for daddy's head went in to all the drones. also I'm dum but is Samara Hugo's daughter or relative. thanks for all you do.
Thank you! I will check out the Street Trash remake! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season!
Naomi Scott's performance was truly phenomenal imo, on par with Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley in The Substance.
Love discovering your channel. I also love the synonym behind this movie with the board games 🎉
This was the best video on the movie!! Love it
Thank you so much! ☺
I loved this film, it was so tense! I agree that the acting was the highlight!
Sister Paxton was my favorite & stole the show for me. She was genuinely bubbly & fun! I've met mormon female missionaries & she was very similar.🙏🥰🌟 Mr. Reed: "With great power, comes great responsibility." Sister Paxton: "Spider-Man!"😂
She was adorable! ☺
i haven't watched it, i will watch it. i've watched a lot of reviews of this movie. i liked your review the most, to be honest. i have prejudices about the movie, the first of which is that these missionaries are mormon, which is a red flag for me. if you're going to criticize religion and you're sincere, you do it trough the majority, not the minority. it's also annoying that the hunter is male and the prey is female. being prey is a fate we can't escape, i guess. boys also do missionary work, more than girls. it would be much more interesting if hugh grant's character was a woman.
The villain is the one criticizing religion. It seemed to me the movie was saying how controlling others is evil regardless of what religion someone adheres to. The villian does not accept any religion but control. It wasn't just a simple criticism of mormonism. Additionally, choosing female protagonists was essential, as they naturally project a sense of vulnerability. If the protagonists had been male, the audience might question why they didn’t just fight back.
@@StevenE-l9y ha ha ha you said completely sexist and misogynist things. is fighting back only for men? it's very, very pathetic that you think vulnerability is only for women. as far as i understand, the hugh grant character does not create any intimidation with his physical strength.
@StevenE-l9y of course, control also applies to mormonism. the coward ones, the ones who don't want to get the reaction of the majority, go after minioraty. it's a comedy for someone who is already intimidated to give us a lecture about being intimidated. don't you think?
@StevenE-l9y you said completely sexist and misogynist things. is fighting back only for men? it's very, very pathetic that you think vulnerability is only for women. as far as i understand, the hugh grant character does not create any intimidation with his physical strength.
@@zeynepgulsu1899 It's not sexist to say women project vulnerability more, it's true. A smaller younger woman projects more vulnerability than a fit young male. Women could fight back (and she ultimately does in this movie) but it's more difficult. She needed a weapon. If it were two young men instead people would be thinking "why don't they just kick this old man's ass?" I suppose they could have given grant a gun to balance the scale.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks November is a good month for noir
All great picks. I love Val Lewton.
Trivia: Hitchcock actually tried to get his hands on the rights of "Celle qui n'était plus" (She Who Was No More) by of Boileau-Narcejac (the pen name used by the French crime-writing duo of Pierre Boileau and Pierre Ayraud, also known as Thomas Narcejac) which was adapted by French director Henri-Georges Clouzot into "Les Diaboliques". However, Hitchcock adapted another novel (D'entre les morts/From Among the Dead) by the two authors into "Vertigo". The novel is set during and after World War II in Paris and Marseille.
That's so cool! Thanks for sharing!
LOVED this! Years ago I saw a double feature of Out of the Past & Night of the Hunter which was my first viewing of NOTH. Been obsessed with both of those films and the "film noir" genre since. Both of those characters Robert Mitchum plays are so fascinating and unique performances. I saw that double feature at the Music Box in Chicago which STILL to this day currently runs noir double features quite often on weekend afternoons.
That's a great double feature! Love Out of the Past!
These are all among my favorites! For my money, _Diaboliques_ might be one of the most frightening films of all time, even though it's one of those films that's been copied so much the effect isn't quite the same as it was when it was first released. Another really good one is _The Spiral Staircase_ (1946) starring Dorothy McGuire. It's arguably a really early slasher movie.
I love the Spiral Staircase.
I Had Not Been to a Theater since 2009, and My Wife’s Girlfriend had seen this Film a couple of days ago. AND SAID IT WAS A WILD RIDE! I’m a Big Fan of Body Horror! Cracking review, Kat. Another brilliant video from you. Love what you do ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! ☺
Loved your reaction!! Btw how’d u get access to watch the film? Deliciously disgusting this film is! It has style+substance🧪💉A social commentary on aging with body horror elements using practical effects, impeccable sound+editing. No amount of change will ever be enough to appease everyone much less undeserving, misogynistic men who do not actually appreciate women for who they are, but only how fckable they deem women to be. Sue represents the younger version of Elisabeth, still impressionable, full of faux confidence bc the patriarchy has beholden a woman’s value to beauty and youth, still fertile. Elisabeth chases her youth in the form of Sue much like someone that keeps running back to the plastic surgeon’s office. And there are consequences bc one begins to stray so far from their original appearance, dare I say monstrous. The violence we put ourselves through comparing ourselves to our own younger version of ourselves when we look at pics of us a decade ago. We must be kinder to ourselves. I like that her yellow coat symbolized the egg in the beginning and then we see Sue wearing the coat to emphasize they are one post injection. *Outward beauty, but inner ugliness to thyself
Thank you! I agree with everything you've said here. Women comparing themselves to other women or to younger versions of themselves is a form of violence, but it is often not framed that way because of the misogynistic expectations that women should strive to meet unrealistic beauty standards, no matter the cost. I got the film clips from a few different trailers I found on RUclips.
They ruined this movie. 1. Vicky upstaged Art, which is ridiculous 2. Art was trying too hard to be funny. That whole mysterious scary goofy persona was lost in this. His obscure personality is lost, now making art less mystical 3. The kills were no way near the bedroom kill in number 2 4. The only good thing about this movie was Laura LeVeras acting. 5. The film has now just become a silly clown killing people. 6. Film is way too long for the lack of law revealed 7. The gore was more realistic when they had a lower budget, the special effects made the gore silly. It just came across as though they were trying too hard
Thinking about how this curse relies on the next person watching, does that mean that if, instead of the freeze answer, their body went into a flight mode, that would be the end of it? Edit: well, that's a silly question. If all it takes is seeing the smile, nothing else matters
Love your reviews Kat, started watching since the In a violent nature review. The smile in your thumbnail is fantastic, such a babe ❤❤❤❤
Saw it on Thurs night. it was pretty damn good, and i was not a huge fan of the first. Did you watch the original short film that kicked off this smile franchise? I watched it online last night. It is called Laura Hasn't slept. Which stars Laura, the opening kill from Smile 1
I haven't seen the short! Thanks for mentioning this- I had no idea this franchise started as a short film, but I will check it out!
@@KatsHorrorCorner I did not either until after i saw the 2nd one. If you google it. It will come up. I think i watched it on the site decider. Nothing great, but very cool to see how it all started and came from. Love ya reviews gal. Keep killing it! :)
I enjoyed the first one. I have been looking forward to this. I appreciate your take on different movies.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the second film!
Really appreciate your perspective.
Thank you so much!
Sienna didnt even need that sword. She could just cut Art with her killer cheekbones ❤
I have never seen a villain who enjoy his kills as much as he does. He plays mind games with you thinking like he a good dude, but then goes psycho mode and mess you up good. If he catches you, there a 2% chance you going to live? He like a fat kid who loves cakes when it comes to kills. Funny thing is the movie has a 2 million budget and turn a serious profit over 20 million dollars. Thanks for the epic review friend. How are you doing today?
it was awesome happy Christmas
this whole series has been 10/10 since it started this is 1 all hollows eve is 2 2 is 3 I’m hooked on this series I just really hope he doesn’t lay everything on the table when he ends this Siena series because I would like Damien to get an idea and say let’s have art vs bean because the opening of every bean episode he is dropped out of a beam of light with the church music I would love Damien David and Rowan do a movie together man vs bee was hysterical Rowan can do something hysterical with David
Saw it on Friday the movie was good and Lauren lavera was awesome 😎
Probably eclipses the second film as my favorite of the series.
Great review!🎉❤😊
Thank you so much! ☺
I hope they release Terrifier 3 to own by December. Makes sense. Loved it. Felt like a ancient horror film in modern times. Grindhouse double feature is another example. Which Tom Savini was apart of! Really reminded me of it. Loved that too! ❤ Sienna IS a demigod. What else can explain her abilitys.🤷♂️🌟🗡
Me too! And I hope they release a director's cut because I have a strong feeling Damien Leone filmed more for this than what's shown in the theatrical cut. At least a version with more gore. 😄
@@KatsHorrorCorner precisely!! You know what's funny? I keep waiting for a creative kill. Involving scissors. That would make me cringe! Or also a human piñata type kill😱🩸
That attic window reminded me of the one from the Amityville Horror house. It's surprising that the audience was unfamiliar with who Tom Savini is.
I loved the nod to Amityville!
I loved the Amityville window and of course know who Tom Savini is!
I wonder what they plan to do with 4. Either 4 is going to continue right where the 3rd one left off or we may get something in between. I was reading Leone saying he wanted to reveal Art's backstory as a serial killer before he become controlled by this demon. I'm thinking 4 might just be that and then they continue the story with 5. That's just a complete guess though.
That would be cool! I am so curious to know more about the backstory he's created for this world.
WOW they checkered IDs? My showing had a bunch of teens in it, and like 13-14 year olds alone being annoying as hell not even watching, on their phones and all that. A few adults were also complaining afterwords as well, about a other group behind me. Then one kid kept walking in and out over and over and over. Like leave or sit down. I think my fave mordor scene was the the rat one at the end.
Same lmao I’m 15 but I watched the whole thing but the majority of the kids left the theatre with hands over their mouth I don’t think they knew what they were getting into
Yeah, I walked in with a group of other adults, and the usher made all of us take out our IDs! Sorry you had disruptive kids in your screening. That rat scene was so nasty! lol!
Also I didn't make any noise for Tom Savini either except for a slight groan lol...I've met him at a convention, and unfortunately he was not cool, at all.
Aww, I'm sorry to hear that!
Yeah Lauren LeVera was so awesome, and she really grounded the film and brought heart to it. I really enjoyed her scenes with her family too. It helps establish that you need to care about someone in these movies full of absolute carnage. I'm liking that these movies since 2 are starting to delve a bit more into the mythology, and hopefully we find out what kind of Demon or evil Entity Art the Clown really is. I was also thinking the whole time about LaVera's hair lol, it was gorgeous!!
Woo hoo! I was looking forward to your review! I saw this in theatre TWICE yesterday! It was so much fun!

8:15 feminine? which woman keeps a sharp sword in her room and makes a knight's armor costume? a completely male fantasy character.
@@zeynepgulsu1899 I mean… I own a couple of swords 😅 and I think the costume is bad ass 🤷🏻♀️
@@KatsHorrorCorner both an angel and a knight, but the armor's functionality is weaker than the wings. if you fall from a height, those wings may slow down your fall, but even the armor's belly is open, guts are open being pierced.
If you saw the Hallows Eve movies and Terrifier 1 I think this is the director’s way of making up for how all the female characters were treated in those movies. Sienna is awesome.
@@BrickQuake not enough for me. i tried to watch the first movie, i could only stand twenty minutes at most. this writer is a total slutshamer.
@@BrickQuake I think they realized they just needed a strong protagonists that people could root for and a journey that we could become invested in. If they just had a different protagonist every time that ends up getting killed in the end it would get very boring.

strange darling movie directly targets feminism. spoiler: there is no need for the games the killer plays in the hotel room, she could have given the rape drug with a drink, or she could have used an electric gun. with these scenes, an attempt was made to refute women's right to say no whenever they want during sex. with the dialogues between the police officers, an attempt was made to refute the complaints of women whose opinions are not taken into consideration, not only in the police force but in every sector of the business world. just like the male police, when it is understood that the woman is not a victim but a murderer, the writer sees us all as 'fucking bitch'es.
This film was amazing. If you're excited about women directors in the body horror space please check out Raw and Titane by Julia Ducornau if you haven't seen them already. Raw is my favourite but Titane is fucking bonkers in a great way
Yeah I did not like this one. It felt really cheap and the acting was horrible.
That Phantasm globe on your shelf stirs up some childhood memories/fears!
In my country it is not yet known if the film will be released or banned because it has very sensitive themes for the community in my country, for example the explicit sexual scenes, nudity and sex. Also Terrifier 3 was banned for the same sexual themes and in the previous Terrifier film there was an abortion scene and in my country millions of people did not like it 😨 What do you think about this Kat's? I hope to hear your opinion and response Kat's ❤️
Loved it !!!!
