Fixing the 2015 Fiat 500C Abarth no-start situation. Oil drains from multi-air brick. No start.

It got very hot in July, and the Fiat sat in the garage for a month. Despite previously having no issues, the heat allowed the oil to drain from the multi-air. When I went to crank, it was in a no start situation. The Fiat Multi-Air not starting is not a serious situation, but it's inconvenient. It occurs when the car sits for too long and the oil drains out of the top of the motor, creating a ...

At the 95K mark, I had a very bad oil leak form at the oil cooler in my 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. I took the opportunity to fix it, removing the Stigen Turbo that I had put on the car @ 50K miles. The reason for the leak at the turbo was because of the cross hatching...

Thank you so much for your post. My car sat about a month. I had started it every once in a while but went to start it yesterday and it sounded horrible… called AAA, the guy did not know where to hook it up. He decided to just hook it up on anything ..got it on the truck and it rolled off the truck into my fence. Needless to say I was upset. I told him to go away . He broke the plate rod ( dont know what its called ) that holds the panels to protect gas tank and brake lines. I decided to look up why my car wasn’t running and came across your video. I put about 10 capfuls of synthetic oil and it cranked and started on the second time so you totally helped me. I drove my car to my mechanic, it got inspected that day and I filed a claim against the tow Company because he caused damage to my car . the mechanic told me what the the damage under my car was from his towing Attempt.

The best way to do this is get you an oiler can from Autozone and fill up the can. Next, remove the oil fill tube so you have access to the ball valve that's at the top of the brick. Take the hose from the oiler can and place it directly on that ball valve and pump the brick full of oil. It takes about 4 cans. Car should start on the second try.

At the time, nobody knew what was going on with the cars so it was a collective internet effort to try to source down the root of the problem. Ultimately, the issues with the cars is that the engine is just glass, and it doesn't take much to send them over the end. The gaskets are paper thin, and they used copious amounts of liquid gasket instead of actual gaskets in it's place. It's a bit of a mess.

Just had this happen to my daughter 2012 FIAT 500 Pop. Tried the "starting" method with the pedal pressed in and after popping the bleeder ball. Didn't work to the point of the starter getting hot and starting to smell a little. Used a nice little dental syringe like you get for flushing extracted teeth. Filled it 1/2 way with oil and then sucked air and pushed in oil..over and over and over..took about an hour and I was able to get it to start.

Oh man I hope you didn’t blow the starter. It’s really not good to crank them till they get very hot. Usually it’s 30 seconds on one minute off for three cycles. you want to take five minutes off to let it cool down after that.

First thing you should do is remove that heat shield and check the waste gate arm. There’s a little valve that tends to stick that keeps the waste gate from closing or sealing tight inside the turbo. If ignored that’s when these turbos crack and then need to be replaced. You can check by unbolting from block and try and move it up and down if it’s gummy or sticks that valve is the problem. Also you can remove turbo and check the seal inside. If it leaks then the fan will not turn and that gives the underboost P0299 code

Thanks! I actually replaced the turbo with a Stigan turbo unit from Amazon and have been running it for 50K miles. It’s been doing phenomenal!

Could you help please, like on the purge canister there is some round thing around the hose betwene the big valve and the fitting if you know what i mean. So i have ordered a new one but its without the round thingie so i will keep the original one if it has no big purpose.

I’m sorry, I’m not really sure what you’re trying to say. However, if you’re saying that your missing a fitting that holds the piece in place on the bracket, that’s what God invented duct tape for.

I just did my yesterday and drove it all the oil came out I hope the engine is ok , I have to do it again.

I really doubt all the oil came out, however, you do have to let the seal set for 24 hours before you actually drive it. There’s actually two liquid gaskets he can use one is a black Perma Tex, and the other is a gray right stuff.

What's the update on the cruze

Hey! Still driving it! It's running really well. Installing the Cruzekits.com fix kit turned my luck around on it. I installed new Bilstien (B4) Shock Absorbers a few months ago. It's leaking at the oil cooler so I am waiting for the weather to warm up before I tackle that again. I've been running Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 Motor oil and the motor runs smooth as glass.

I just found the cause of the p0299 code that keeps popping up on my wife’s car. It’s the corrugated tube that goes from the intake manifold to the top of the turbo. There is a check valve in the end of the tube just before it connects to the turbo. The check valve gets stuck open once in a while and causes the intermittent code. I just put a new hose in. 80 dollars for the hose and 10 minutes later. No more codes. Update a few months go by. The codes back. I got an aftermarket waste gate actuator with a 12 psi spring. And pre loaded it 2.5 turns. That fixed the code for me until a deer jumped in front.

Man, he was supposed to use the lubricant on the reamer (he called it the stabber). The he was supposed to use the lubricant on the plug installation tool before insertion. As someone said here, yea that was painful to watch!!!

For what it’s worth, those plugs have been holding up fine even without the cement.

@hordebutcher2651 Didn't say it was not going to hold, but the Lube makes it easier to poke through tire
