I apologize for the quality of this video. I hadn’t planned to make one for this repair, but about halfway through I realized it might be worth recording.

2014 Ford Escape Dash Removal and Evaporator Replacement
Просмотров 14 тыс.Год назад
In this video I go step by step to remove the dash and replace the evaporator on a 2014 Ford Escape. In the course of the video I mentioned a tool I used to remove the heater hoses. I bought mine from Matco, but it’s also available from Lisle (probably the same company that supplied Matco). Here is the link… Lisle 39200 Heater Hose Disconnect for Ford 2.0L , Blue a.co/d/9Bmf2i2

F-150 High Speed Fans Running and Poor A/C Cooling (Expansion Valve)
Просмотров 52 тыс.Год назад
Hi folks, this is a re-upload. I accidentally deleted this video (after over 50k views!) This 2014 Ford F-150 had high speed fans roaring constantly and the air conditioning was barely blowing cool. I found a lot of information online about changing the expansion valve to cure this issue and sure enough, it works. Since filming this video last year, I’ve done this same repair a half-dozen times...

2013 Ford Taurus HVAC Mode Door Actuator Replacement

Customer complaint was “A/C only blows out the defrost and floor vents”. The scan tool showed the HVAC control module was commanding the actuator motor to move when I requested it but no movement was seen. Diagnosis-bad actuator. In this video I will go through the steps to replace the mode door actuator without removing the full instrument panel.

Hi everyone. I almost didn’t post this video because it ends abruptly. I accidentally deleted three or four segments of the repair at the end of the day. For some that will be annoying, and I apologize. Even so, I think some people may benefit from the portion that didn’t get deleted. The video shows most of the repair, it just doesn’t show the reassembly after swapping the seals. With that sai...

My question is I feel like if you did the only 2 screw method wouldn’t it be more effective to just put the one behind the IPC in and leave that top one by the firewall out? Obviously to put the botttom one back in? I feel as that would be easier I had no hastle getting the one behind the IPC but the other 2 I cannot get for the life of me. I gotta tackle this again tomorrow I tried today but got to dizzy hanging upside down for 30 minutes 😂 ducking (replace the d with and f) ford and there horrible designs. Its a cheap ass part I paid 20$ for the OEM motorcraft actuator but I ain’t paying out the butt in labor
Great idea made the valve swap way way easier that back plate will definitely fall back into the truck if you don't do something like this. Local Ace had 100mm sections of m5 threaded rod that worked just as well. Thanks for uploading saves the DIYer a boat load of heart ache haha.
A got to be on time right
If you take the four screws out for the glove box it'll be a lot easier to take the evaporator out
What are you turning?
I've used small vicegrips to do this
Really contemplating just going the same route they did with the rubber hose and clamps. I'm switching mine out because I'm in the middle of swapping to pi heads.
Part number??
Im back ... 2 years later ... Awakened from cryosleep ... This is still the beat video to date followed closely by Rainman Ray's
Looking to replace mine, but not paying what they're asking on E-bay, idk what they were asking before but they want $60-$90 for the motor now. Think I found one on Amazon thats a cheap 14.4v motor, i'll have to tear mine apart and check how many teeth are on that motor.
Thank you 🙏🏾 my friend 😊I used a shoestring and it worked like a charm 😁
you remember where you bought that Astro Pneumatic 78830?
Amazon.
you missing with the timing belt thats dangerous
🤣
Cant help to notice 1 PI head and 1 none PI
@@porfiriosalas2800 yup. I didn’t notice until I was putting the manifold back on. Kinda threw me for a loop, idk why someone would do that.

@@jbeach7392 I honestly have no idea. The dashes are very similar but I’ve never had both apart at the same time to compare.
This just made by belt snap😭😭
I’m guessing it wasn’t a stretch belt then. So many people don’t read the title of this video.
Are you anywhere close to Phoenix?
@@Tfarms2009 Afraid not. I’m in Central Florida.
In your repairs for this problem was that new TXV all that was needed? I’ve heard of others saying they were told they needed a complete new AC system (compressor and or condenser, for example) due to metal shavings spreading throughout the system.
Wow
YESSSSS!!!! THANK YOU!!!
Thanks a lot sir , my 2013 fan was working on high speed and so noisy 😟😟, bought a valve for $80 from dealer and was lucky to find your video, car and ac back to normal, best tips on your special bolt🙏🙏🌺
Great video
I would change the evaporator
No thank you i like smashing my knuckles. And getting my hands and arms stuck in places they shouldn't it.
I have. The dang tool Zip ties work better
I never thought of that.
I owe you a cold one
Why not just loosen the tension on the alternator???😂😂😂
Why not read the comments? 😂😂😂There is no tensioner. It’s a stretch belt system. Not a traditional serpentine belt.
I fought a BMW AC belt for a whole day I wish I had seen this
Damn that is a great trick
Mostly, all tensioners have a hole to put in a socket wrench. I've used a crescent wrench on my recent car.
@@KING4aday46 There is no tensioner. This is a stretch belt, not a serpentine belt.
Натяжителем не побывал воспользоваться кулибин
Man, why did I not think of that? You are a genius sir.
I bet it took him 30 minutes or more to put the zip ties on the belt..He shown the easy part..
💀
Good job
Se debe huzar el tesador, si no tiene aflojar el alternador 😂
No hay tensor en un sistema de cinturón elástico
WHY Not Just Pull Back On The Spring Loaded Tensioner, Or Loosen The Adjustment That's Typically On The Alternator??? DUHHH???
@@davemckolanis4683 it’s funny. This video has been up for over a year, and just this week I’m getting tons of comments from people who have mistaken this for a serpentine belt setup. THERE IS NO TENSIONER ON A STRETCH BELT SYSTEM. The belt applies the tension, not any mechanical method. Feel free to google “What is a stretch belt” to learn more.
@@RedeemedMechanic Better Check AGAIN. NO Engine Manufacturer Is STUPID Enough To Overlook The Ability To Tighten A Belt As It Normally Wears Or Stretches. Thus Leaving The Ability For The Belt To Just Flop Off As It Gets Loose. If That Was The Case, Then A Person Would Be An IDIOT To Buy It In The First Place...

If it took a hour u might want to look for another job this not your fortake
This is a 15 second video. What on earth are you talking about? What hour? Wait. Don’t tell me, let me guess. You don’t know what a stretch belt is and you think it’s the same as a traditional serpentine belt. So you ran to the comments to tell me how wrong it is to do this with a serpentine belt. Am I close? This isn’t a serpentine belt. There is no tensioner. I’m not skipping steps. This is the method you are supposed to use, fastening the belt to the pulley and cranking it on. Many vehicles have had stretch belts since 2007 or so. I just didn’t know so many people were unaware of them.
Is that a mountain wrench😊
The crack head designer’s couldn’t put in a tensioner like other engines have, so thankfully you came up with an excellent idea!!!!!!
That's remarkable indeed ✔️🙃🫵💪
Why not just pull the belt tensioner/ idler pulley to relief the tension and side the belt in place
Because a stretch belt doesn’t have a tensioner. This is not a serpentine belt.
@@RedeemedMechanic sure looks like one
@@Dickey66 yes, they look similar in the outside, but stretch belts are constructed differently. The cords on a stretch belt are designed with elastic tension, eliminating the need for a mechanical tensioner where serp belts have strong cords and are not meant to stretch at all.
Thanks man!
Most of the time you need like 10x more zip ties
Zip ties work good for open pulleys, you could also use a hose clamp. For pulleys that are closed/no open slots you gotta use the special tool or sometimes a pry bar or screwdriver. The worst ones are when they are at the back of the pulley, behind the main belt grooves
I just use a piece of cardboard between the wheel and belt and it goes right in
Loosening its tension device also works too!
There is no tensioning device on a stretch belt system. The elasticity of belt is the tensioning device. While they look similar to serpentine belts, they’re are incompatible with each other.
