During the Everest Base Camp trek, tipping porters is a common practice. The standard rate is typically around $3-$5 USD per day per porter, so for a 12-14 day trek, it amounts to roughly $40-$70 USD per porter. Guides usually receive a higher tip, around $10-$15 USD per day. In our case, since we were a big group, we decided to tip $100 per person. We collected the total amount and handed it over to the porters at the end of the trek. There’s a clip in our video where we’re all sitting in a tea house, celebrating and giving a final speech as we present the collective tip. This moment captured the gratitude and camaraderie of the group as we completed our journey together.

@@agillkrish gpay and Phone pay does Not work there. The best is to get the currency converted from India. Check your card and see if it says u cannot pay foreign exchange in Nepal and Bhutan- means it won’t work. Big places Will be fine but lot of issues at small shops. Amex does not work at all.
