*RARE VIDEO* Rachel Tucker Defying Gravity - London 2010 **AMAZING BATTLE CRY**
Просмотров 22 тыс.2 года назад
A very strong Defying Gravity from Rachel back in 2010, date unknown but most likely 2010 as Louise is on, there is no “deserves” riff, and the orchestra is iconic. Pretty rare video as there’s only a limited number of Rachel DG videos out there. Notess!! Excellent preflight lines. Powerful “it’s meee” Growwwl right through “So if you care to find me” “To flyy!” She looks SO in the moment!! “AT...

Pretty rare performance from Rachel that was deleted from officalwickedfans channel. I think this is from her final london run, or either her first london run. Rare “meeee down” riff Starring Rachel Tucker - Elphaba Suzie Mathers(?) - Glinda
Jessica Vosk Defying Gravity Broadway(?) Rare “How i” Riff

Excellent performance by Jessica. I especially love the It’s meeee, the vibrato on flying hiiigh. The “How I” I believe is the only time she did it.
Idina Menzel Last Defying Gravity 30/12/06 - London (clearer audio)

This isn’t a clear as day audio, but I would say it’s the best one you can find. The other ones do have a slight muffled tone to them and this one it’s not perfect but you can hear it a lot stronger. OLC Wicked Last Defying Gravity Starring Idina Menzel - Elphaba Helen Dallimore - Glinda Miriam Margoyles - Madam Morrible
Wow wow wow!
I know lots of people think the Broadway lift is too slow, but I find the specific visual between 5:33 and 5:36 of her slowly ascending with the illuminated fog framing her and fully obscuring the faux curtain and lift mechanism to be extremely effective at selling the effect. It helps to have a skilled Elphaba like Jessica singing the heck out of the song, of course!
I hate it when the audience claps and cheers before the song is over. Let people enjoy the vocals instead of drowning them out. It’s poor etiquette, and these performers are too great.
exactly what i’m thinking as i’m watching this right now
Thomas how did you get this
It was on RUclips maybe 3 years ago, and was up for a while. Once I realised it was deleted, I put this one up! :)
Well it’s a great video none the less so thank you for posting it
It would be incredible to hear the whole show
I don't think I've ever seen an Elphie enjoy herself during defying gravity as much as Lucie does. I mean,in every audio she definitely sounds like she's having the time of her life, but on video she LOOKS like it too!
the scream right after FLY! killed me! Also, is that some actually decent videos? From a recent production? Wow... I was used to seeing the whole audience row and barely anything about the actress in bootlegs from after 2016
- I'm the one you want. It's me!! - ELPHIEEEEEEEEEEE - IT'S MEEEEEEEEEEE GOOSEBUMPS EVERYWHWRE

10:10 OKAY that riff on 'again' was STUNNINGGG 🔥🖤
Probably my favourite “again” riff!
Insane!!! That timing stepping down on those notes!😱🫠💀😍
I have just subscribed to your channel. Your videos are Ahhmazzing.
Can I ask you a question?
Omg this last good deed. Perfection❤
The London orchestra should be the standard for all others. There is something magical about her even today.
The London Orchestra is AH-MAHZING! 💚🖤 They supported Idina's final performance BEAUTIFULLY. I mean, this really is a STUNNING performance of both Performer and Orchestra. It's SUBLIME. Seeing this live must have been ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING! This also should have been the OLC Album Recording.
I mean in Idina days, sure. It's running a marathon nowadays. Pretty sure we had the shortest "IT'S MEEEEEEEE" in history in January
I would rather have the larger Broadway orchestra
@@space_9501 "it's not about size, it's about how you use it"
@@veraelphie0306It seems that the more time passes, the more this performance is devalued. It's no longer about telling the story, but proving riffs. He no longer has a personality.
This is a much healthier sound than later in her run when she started growling on literally every other line. She sounds a lot less nasal as well on the sections in her passaggio (there is still some definite nasality there, but a lot less than later in her run).
welcome back!! its been a year since you posted!! ❤
My QUEEN ❤
It's not her you want 3:44
Probably the best climax of defying gravity yet!
She is the best Elphie 💚💚💚
Epic!
I’m a big fan of most people who’ve played Elphaba, but Jessica has this beautifully witchy quality in her voice that really ties back to the film, while still having that insane belting power Idina made famous with this role. Jessica Vosk is, in my opinion, the perfect Elphaba.
Chills! Especially on the 2nt performance
Can you inagine being backstage and hearing the audience cheer the way they did i wonder what is that like for the stage crew and other cast members ❤
I dont understand why alot of these wicked bootlegs are labelled as insane
It's clickbait - was just gonna post a similar comment
@@camdenlayell3521I think it is insane so that’s why the title is that!
This is her debut.
Debut video, third audio :)
I REALLY wish Kristin had joined Idina onstage in London for this performance. It would have been SUBLIME, and more epic than it is already. 💚🖤 This is STILL one of the BEST final DG performances of ANY Elphaba ANYWHERE in the 🌍. And people can dispute it with me ALL THEY WANT, but I'm a trained singer myself, and I CLEARLY hear her sing: "So, if you care to find me, look to the West End Sky!." Which is FREAKING F'ING BRILLIANT & I 💚🖤 it! 🤘
I love her vibrato on the second "bring me down"!
I fucking hate how she rushes "fly"
I hate the way she rushes "fly"
It’s powerful-I love it personally!
@@stawbrykiss353 she can still convey power without rushing
why do you hate it that much? is there *really* more emphasis that needs to be put on “fly” as she’s actively holding a magical broom in her hand while ten feet in the air? plus the *entire* conversation that precedes this moment…
BEST ELPHABA EVER! 👏🏼🔥
6:06 that guy's reaction absolutely killed me, because literally same
Every time
The best “so if you care to find me”
And THAT ladies and gentlemen is how the war cry at the end of this song should be done!!!! 🖤🔥
"Riffing? 😮 Riffing!? 🤨 Don't know what you're talking about 🤔... I didn't riff 🖐️🙄!" -Rachel Tucker
HOHOHOHOHO.... just unbelievable.... note-perfect!!! quite literally
The queen of DG. She swipes the floor every single time. 2010-2011 were also her absolute best years. The best ever Wicked cast was RT as Elphaba, then Louise Dearman as Glind and Mark Evan as Fiyero. The theatre was literally on fire the night Louise and Mark left the show. Probably the best ever Wicked performance.
Wow just wow ; that range ufff
Look at her! She's wicked! *GET HER!!*
What I wouldn't give to be able to see her live just once
She sound rly good but a bit off at some points, to be fair she was probably crying her last performance
Rachel was in my view the best of them all the wife and myself saw her six times including her last performance when she was three months pregnant and she nail this song perfectly every time
This gave me chills
She is the one that made me love The Wizard and I she is incredible!
Beautiful, an absolute masterpiece. Each Elphaba is portrayed so incredibly ❤
I can't even imagine the Core strength it takes to belt like this while in a flying harness
Although it's not a harness, but a little platform, she's tightly locked in around the waist limiting her movement. Safe, at one level, but at another level, you are standing on a thing the size of a shoe box and you've got a safety bar around your waist. They can't use their bodies as they'd love to. Which is why when there's a 'no-fly show', they always seem to make up for the disappointment of a no-fly with extra belting, because they can engage their diaphragm fully. But when they're up there, they're more or less standing like a candle. So you are absolutely right - the strength these ladies have is incredible.
Chills. Can hear the heart break in her voice to saying bye to defying gravity. Amazing.
Me too. it makes me cry.
Around 6:10 it’s the oh god for me
Slay queen
Thank you, God🤦🏼♂️🙏🏻🙌🏻 Bless you.
