Another video popped up about this car after I watched this one. A private mechanic was repairing a leaky dual oil line on a RR Ghost. To get to the oil line off required dropping the front subframe! The oil line assembly if purchased at RR is $11,000 dollars! An aftermarket seller had a part that would work the was almost $5,000.00. Someone mentioned you could potentially get the part at BMW for less because it is a BMW motor in the car. The owner had the rubber lines of the assembly replaced for about $300. That involved cutting off the rubber lines and fabricating connections for the original metal section of the assembly so removable after market hoses could be connected. The job looked pretty good and solved an $11,000 problem for $300.00 not including labor to pull the part and put it back on. Again, buyer beware if you are not affluent.

There’s an old saying that the two greatest days in a boat owner’s life are the day he buys it, and the day he sells it. Ponder that when sensors and servos begin to fail, when the ride-leveling system needs a $20,000 fix, when the codes start popping up when you start the car. May want to check Video Bob’s channel for a dose of reality. Wish you luck.

You mentioned Mulsanne. Had one. Traded in for a 2014 Ghost. Thought how much difference can there be. You would be surprised. The Mulsanne is quiet a step down in terms of ride quality, and even rear seat room. The RR is quiet a step above. You are right. You can’t beat it. BTW not sure your mileage and yours is a few years older, but you got a bargain. I paid quiet a junk more. You got a great value and your’s is a beautyful example. Love it!!

I got a 2014 Ghost w. 20k miles. Had one previous owner. Highly spec’d and took me a while to find the color and spec I liked. Got most all extras, like power rear seats with all the trays, screens, refrigerator and so on. All things considered the car is very reliable and trouble free. BUT, make no mistake. It is a heavy car. Airstruts, suspension parts, brakes, go fast. That is normal maintenance. If you bring it to RR service, they quoted me $ 11k for a simple brake job. Did it myself. Easiest brake job in a long time. All BMW parts. So, make sure you have an indie mechanic or do yourself. I am very meticulous about perfect maintenance. Don’t skip ANY maintenance or service. It will pile up on you badly. Unfortunately some second hand buyers think paying for the car is it. Not so. They do need maintenance. If you are doing yourself of half a indie guy, not too bad. The car is simply better than ANY other luxury sedan. It is hard to describe. Yes it has plenty of torque. But its not meant to speed around. Its a great cruise. I also have a 2014 Bentley GTC Speed W12. Not even comparable. (Or any Bentley, had others, too). Make no mistake the Bentley is great. Just very different. And….appears needs a bit more maintenance. Especially suspension parts don’t last more then into the high 30k mile range. I also have new latest model BMWs and others. But the 10 Year old RR is just doing as well. Night Vision, a number of blind spot and collission avoidance systems. I simply love it and never regreted to pay a hefty sum. But, I paid way less then the first owner who paid a sticker price of $ 380k.

I'll wait for it to depreciate to $20k. Then I'll trade my Ford Taurus.
