Abby, that's a significant time you've spent in the UK. My heritage is in England and Scotland, and I was born and raised in America. Many a day since 2016 I have wished for a "transporter" to plunk me down in London or Edinburgh, but at this critical point in our democracy, I've decided for now to stay and fight. Yes, it is frightening, and has been. I have been drawn to European music all my life, and was delighted to find Sinfonia Cymru here. I am a female-bodied person and queer. There are indeed tremendous composers from the US, but representation remains sex/gender-skewed. Of course, much the same can be said of European composers (many whom I love), in the 20th century or any. I was deeply moved by this piece. Please don't forget those of us in the US who actually give a damn about women's rights, queer rights, human rights. If you pray, please pray for us. You write precisely and beautifully. Will certainly investigate the artists you mentioned, and continue to anticipate more outstanding music from Sinfonia Cymru. Happy International Women's Day March 8. The whole month is supposedly dedicated to women. Wow, one month out of 12 for over 50% of the global population. I hear you. Much respect.

My goodness! Beautiful sound, but the conducting style seems bizarre. Is she conducting or doing tai chi? And the players are bobbing & weaving; it's distracting.

The sound is gorgeous, both vocally and instrumentally, and I love this hymn and this arrangement. But I can’t shake the feeling that I’m looking at the 5 movements from the O.A…..

Fantastic recording, filming and editing. Fabulous, energised, deeply personal and emotional performance of a work - that can often sound, to a non-participant, like it is rehearsing well-worn tropes, which, when new, were probably shiveringly fresh and thrilling; but in opulent performances by violin 'superstars' these supposedly depictive pieces have become showcases for, lets face it, fast scales and arpeggios. This performance is hot and rough and urgent and dangerous and quicksilver, trembling with raw energy, shimmering with vulnerable calm; bombast bravely withheld; gush & smooth display, banished. Surely Vivaldi would have loved it. As he spent much of his professional life composing for and with talented young women, I'm sure he would have been totally at home with this interpretation. Congratulations.

So much more than an arrangement of the familiar tune, which I have known since young childhood. This is a substantial creative work, of originality, vision, energy, and page after page of refined, delicate invention. Played with exquisite, sympathetic artistry by these amazing musicians.

Extremely good. The acoustic at Rhosygilwen is so perfect for this music. And beautifully filmed, edited, recorded.
