Good day do you have a email address. I am based in Australia and would like to find out more information and what kits you might have for sale to assist in fitting a M57 into a Disco 1 with a manual transmission. Thanks
I think it would be interesting to see you restomod a Series Land Rover with a galvanized coil-spring conversion chassis a modern diesel engine. The M57 In-line 6 might be too long for a Series though. Maybe you could use the B47D In-line 4?!?
Looks good apart from the crazy colours but each to their own! You said we’d hear it but didn’t unless I missed it. I’d like to see more of the build itself in addition to the end result, nice work regardless.
would like more info on the engine mounts as i am doing one soon in one of mine,do you have a wiring diagram so i can switch from the x5 pedal to the tdci one cheers
Nice job. However, I wouldn't put that engine in anything, just leave it in a BMW. I had a 2006 Range Rover Vogue with that engine, I regretted buying it instead of the V8 petrol. The BMW engine was underpowered, noisey and not particulary good for a working vehicle towing a trailer.
This is the m57n, NOT the m57 with a terrible gearbox like you've experienced. Maybe instead of making such generalised opinions, do your research next time you wet wipe. The m57n can handle 400HP easily with basic mods and a new turbo.
Much better audio on this video. I look forward to following your RUclips career - excellent presentation skills. We are starting to do these conversions on Patrols in Australia.
Very nice neat conversion! You can see the attention to detail! It definitely pays off. I keep looking at options for an engine swap on my d1, looking at an m57 or om606 but it’s a lot of work.

Awesome job!Whats the time for such a conversion?
Nice motor
That’s an absolutely brilliant build, with quality parts, it’s a credit to you. Cheers
I like your presentation style. You have a great voice to listen to.
I want to hear it while driving...
Beautiful vid .. you really give me some great ideas and it was helpful
Great build ! How do you manage to have the rpm working ?
Ex Discovery 1 owner I’am ….. 🤤. What an amazing build well done 👌🏽!!
Awesome one can you do the same to a p38
Expensive "work truck".....money pit more like... typical landrover!

That engine cover looks great!
New sub! Keep up the great work!
Engine bay is organized like a champ, keep videos coming, we have a shortage on good land rover channels 🎉
Thanks! Will do!
It still needs the new Allisport AirBox... muuuch better airflöw
how do you get it through an mot with a straight through exhaust ? what do you do for rust prevention now its all good again ?
Cracking bit of work! Would be lovely to hear it running on a road test.
Bmw, making junk rovers great again
Like it, needs a test drive video once the map is done.

Just got your video recommended after some ALive tuning homework. Would you rate an M57 as a worthwhile upgrade to a tweaked TD5?
Good video. Would have been nice to see it running

Clueless
@@gerryr1893 No idea who you are referring too, but in my experience and that of others, the BMW is a POS in anything other than a BMW.
The range rover straight six was a different engine...
The l322 td6 had a poor gearbox and was an early detuned variant of the m57 engine 177hp. Bmw kept the higher hp variants for their owm cars.

Great engineering What about airflow to the air filter? Does it get enough ?
Buy a Pajero for £1500 END OF STORY
Lovely piece of engineering
such a robust engine. have a 22 y old 530d with over 200k miles
Great Video, just subscribed.... Would have loved to have seen it in action on the road and heard the engine note etc.
Immaculate presentation in the engine bay; I think an engine start would enhance and top off your video nicely.
How I thought. NKT
Roughly how much would you charge for an m57 into a 2.4 puma defender
£40 k
Looks great! How about a shot of the engine running! Love an M57
Big Boyz toyz 😎👍
Does it not have a transfer box? And how does it sound?
It has transfer box looks like a Landrover one probably from the original V8

I will indeed like and subscribe as this kind of thing excites me much more than it really should. Splendid stuff old bean
That looks awesome! What’s the cost of something like this? Very neat work and the attention to detail really shows. Great job 👍
Are you based in the uk
Yes we are, Gloucestershire
