Great work. I enjoyed seeing it become progressively more intense. I'm based on Kangaroo Island in South Australia so there's a very slim chance of seeing one here. Still, I'm going to try when the conditions are right.

why is it impossible to see the southern lights from ushuaia? it's a city much closer to the south pole than the australian and new zealand coasts, it should look much better in argentina and chile. New Zealand, Tasmania and Australia are at temperate and even subtropical latitudes, while Patagonia is one step away from the Antarctic continent, it seems very strange that you can't see the southern lights from Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego

The magnetic pole which is currently closer to Australia / New Zealand than South America may have something to do with it.

Save your money!!!! We were on this flight, the Saturday/Sunday flight from ChCh. With the naked eye, you see NOTHING like this time lapse. All we saw during the entire flight were a few minutes of wispy grey-ish cloud. $12k later.... such a disappointing experience. If you are watching this, thinking it would be 'bucket list' experience, NOPE. All these flights do is subsidise the professional aurora photographers. For average people like us, just using our eyes or our smart phone cameras, a totally underwhelming, expensive experience.
