Making a Composite Mould For A Ducati Heel Plate
Approaching 56,000 miles on my Street Triple which I bought new in 2009.If I knew then what I know now I would have bought the 'R' model as the standard suspension is budget and goes a bit spongey front and rear after about 16,000 miles.I have replaced the front springs twice and swapped the rear shock for one off a Honda CBR600 which is fully adjustable. But the charging circuit is the achilles heel on early Triumph triples and I have burned out about 5 stators.I also own a 2005 Speed Triple 1050 which also likes to burn stators .It used to be easy to source used stators from Ebay off reputable bike breakers but they are becoming rare. Most new stators are those dreadful things from China which come with a 3 month guarantee but sometimes only last a week or two. They used to be about £25 but are being sold now for up to £200 by online traders.
My polo has the same issue
Thank you for the comment. My problem has persisted intermittently. I definitely think its the micro switch on mine that is the problem. Have you investigated yours?
@@Js-GarageI was planning on buying both items and finding someone to install them for me
They look brand spanking new!
They look CRISP!
Great Job! Looks way better!
Thanks man! I think so too!
I changed my manifold with brunch manifold but I can't put back the Aluminium heat zink back that covers the manifold. How can that affect my car?
Hello. It shouldn't affect it at all. You really don't need worry about it.
Lol I thought my brunch manifold is the one causing too much heat inside the engine bay because I didn't put back the aluminium manifold cover. Thanks your videos are very educational. What type of welding are you using to weld on that manifold?
Thank you for the feedback. Branches will run hotter as you getting slightly more out of the engine. Is the car overheating? The welding I did was TIG welding. Really nice welding type.
No the car is not overheating its just that is very hot inside the bonet and every part is hot including the battery. Or maybe I'm inquisitive. We love your videos here in South Africa Johannesburg.
looks very clean
Thank you, I agree!
Looks much better!!
Thank you. I think so too.
More triumph greetings
More Triumph content coming soon! Just trying to finish up some projects before I start new ones. XD Thank you for watching and sticking around! Greatly Appreciated!
Nice to see you back at it with new content again!
Thank you! Been a bit busy with work.
I Have those on my Fatboy , surprising how bright they are.
They are awesome! I have them on my Triumph Street Triple too!
which spark plugs did u use? the normal gold ones from harley or the screaming eagle?
I used the normal plugs as they had no stock of the SE ones! Might change to the better ones soon.
Bro, you are a lifesaver. THANK YOU!! Keep up the good work. need to DIY service my 883 as well
THANK YOU for the positive feedback!!! What are your plans for your 883?
@@Js-Garage I am going to give it a service and ride it from jhb to mosselbay so your vid came in real handy. Thanks again! I will make some mods - LED lights etc.
Oh that sounds awesome!! Going to be a beautiful ride! I have a contact for the parts if you want. Great quality and not bad pricing. You going to MosselBay for holiday?
I'm based JHB and so is my contact for parts.
@@Js-Garage I'd appreciate that, I am also in Jhb. Send me the contact please.
Those mini LED indicators look sweet! You’ll love the LED headlight, makes a massive difference over the dimly lit stock one.
Can imagine the difference it makes. I am yet to take it for a ride as I am busy with the brakes. Cant wait!
Super impressive Jared! Everything is so much cleaner!
Thank you so much! I definitely think it is looking much better!!
How much did triumph charge you for the tune
I fortunately didnt pay for the tune but only for the labour. Labour was around R500
Nice video! Thank you Please, what wire did you use to weld?
Thank you! I used the normal mild steel Tig filler rods.
Thank you brother 🫡
My Pleasure!!!
Good job, I THINK YOU NEED TO CLEAN Catalytic
Thank you. When I took it apart the CAT had already been knocked out. So couldn't do that.
Good job but why not just buy triumph anodised brake reservoir and save yourself a mission
In all honesty had I known the lengths I would go through to get it sorted I would have just bought the triumph one. I thought it was just going to be a quick swop and bleed.
Nearly had a coronary at the price of the gasket rubber...then converted to UK£....£5.63 :)
XD I would too if it were in pounds. Thank you for watching and commenting. Really appreciate it!
Nice video! Please add somekind of UV protection, otherwise you can do it all again next year. Ceramic coating or non yellowing clearcoat.
Thanks for the tip! I most definitely will.
Hi Mr JS Really enjoy your videos very helpful. Please can you do major service on the polo for me .
Hey Bud. I don't have a need right now but in the coming weeks I will be doing a major on a polo. Not sure exactly when. Maybe if you can Subscribe so when I do it will come up. Thank you for watching! Greatly appreciated!!
How did you clean the O2 sensor?
Normally I'll just use some petrol and a wire brush. Just be very careful. I have also used brake and part cleaner in an aerosol can.
Looking good 👍 how are they holding up?
Very well actually. What do you think of them up or down?
Up for sure @@Js-Garage
I just did a track day so I took them off. Maybe I'll put them back on up! Thank you!!
As a Honda driver we don't get plagued with these sorts of issues, but I'm glad you managed to fix it. Good work.
XD.... Bru I honestly do not know how to respond to that! 🤣
I had the same issue on my 09 Street Triple back in 2014. I looked on various forums and found it was a common problem caused by a bad connection in the main harness plug for the ignition switch. A sure sign of this is that if you grab the wire bundle that goes to the switch and move it around then you can start the bike. When I checked the connector I saw a bunch of corrosion which I cleaned off, bent the blade part of the connector slightly to improve contact, then put everything back together. It's been 10 years and the issue has not returned.
Thank you for the comment. Out of interest, did your bike die completely (engine and cluster/clock off too?) or was it just the engine. I find mine is just the engine cutting out and as you saw in the video i am able to restart almost immediately. I cannot find any corrosion or perishing on the ignition cables... I am stumped. It continues to do it until today but i havent had the chance to take it in to Triumph yet.
@@Js-Garage Mine would die completely and sometimes just a slight movement of the bars would be enough for it to come back on. When it did this I would see the usual sweep of the tacho just as if I had turned the ignition off and back on.
I wish that was the case with mine. I went through all the cabling and terminals and was unsuccessful trying to find the issue. I think i might end up having to take it to Triumph to let them check the stepper motor values. How is your bike doing, what is the mileage?
@@Js-Garage My bike runs great even after 14 years and has done just under 72K miles although I haven't ridden it much for the last 3 years. I used to live in California near Monterey Bay so I could ride all year round and before C$$$D I did about 6K miles per year. My favorite Sunday ride was 80 miles down the California Coastal Highway through Big Sur, a coffee at the turn around, and 80 miles back.
That must be such a beautiful ride!! I have sub'd to your channel to go and have a watch. Now and then some mates and I go for a long outride.
Don't make that sporty go any faster. As the old saying goes, chrome Don't get you home. Ride it like ya stole it.
XD Trying to transform the look. Lets see how that goes! Thank you and will try!
Love the video! A question, would it be possible for your friend to make another rack for the instrumental cluster that I can purchase? Its the perfect angle. Love it.
Most definitely can. Email me on jaredjoubert93@gmail.com and we can chat.
I believe you mean inch pounds, not foot pounds
Yes thank you for picking that up. I am new to the imperial system. Thank you for the correction 🙂
@@Js-Garage Your welcome, just subscribed.
Thank you. Truly appreciated!
She looks awesome! Did you get it tuned & have you noticed a difference in performance?
Thank you. I havent yet as we want to build a custom exhaust for it so that will change the dynamics again. To be honest I havent noticed a difference yet but I am sure once we load a new map there will definitely be!
@@Js-Garage Thanks for the reply. I’m interested to see how she evolves, looking forward to watching. 👍🏼
Thank you! I myself cant wait to see. Enjoy!!
swiggity swoogity what happens when you put super glue on a non-stick frying pan
To be honest i have no clue!!!
Bike looking nice mate! Very good with this seat ay
Thank you. I really like the seat! With the new air cleaner it looks mean!
The added knee room is no joke! I whacked my leg too many times on the round metal filter box before going for the out-front style. Plus it looks proper boss! 👍
It really does change the look and make it look a lot meaner! Added bonus is the leg room!!!
130 bucks xD
What a job for a R130 gasket....
Nice one bro! I just picked up my Iron 883 a few days ago. Can't wait to start bolting on parts! I'm looking at the Arlen Ness 65 degree velocity air filter!
Thank you, I came across the Arlen Ness Intake and I love it too! Very nice. Stay tuned as I am going to completely transform the 883 in the coming weeks. Still waiting for a couple parts to arrive from overseas. Quite slow to arrive to South Africa!
Sub'd to your channel. Keen to watch your videos!
That's a mad looking unit!
Mean looking right! Way better.
I think it looks good! Much better!
Thank you. I really think so too.
Admirable spannering skills. If you like the look, that's all that really matters. My random person on the internet view is, the original looks better. It's an iconic Street Triple look.
Thank you. Your opinion seems to be the consensus. I love the newer style BugEye Street and Speed Triples but did NOT love mine with the chrome round headlights. I do appreciate the view and your thoughts. I am still enjoying the look so I guess will see in a couple months. Thats the thing about project bikes, constantly changing.
@Js-Garage A 675 Street Triple lives in my garage. It's my wife's, and she's loved owning it for over 8 years. Great bikes. Her bike has the later non round headlights. I always admire people who are prepared to put their work out there for public scrutiny. Keep doing what you're doing and enjoy the bike.
Thank you for the positive words! I will keep on. I have sub'd to your channel, excited to watch.
Nice bike...mine is the same....but 115.000 km:). This week i bought for her: new Rizoma bar end mirrors, new seat handcrafted, new brake pump Brembo RCS (my old radial original pump is dying). I love this bike. Mine is 14 years old. I have a brand new tiger sport 660 in garage,but,......is always in garage:)......i love too much my old Street Triple R in Matt Orange.
Ooooo NICE! I am sure she is looking amazing. Id love to see a photo if you wouldn't mind emailing me one. My email address is jaredjoubert93@gmail.com
Down !!!!!
Thank you. Quite enjoying them down at the moment!!
Oh no! Now it looks like every other generic bike! 😢
Ahh nooo.... Thank you for the comment. I really was going for the other way of being more custom and different.
I bought this bike for the circle original headlight !!!!!
What color is yours?
Must have felt like a huge relief!
It really was!
I think the new is much better. Newer!
Thank you!
The new foot pegs look much nicer!
Thank you! I think so too.
that looks so much better
Thank you. I think so too!
new ugly :(
Thank you for your thoughts. Appreciate it.
thanks for this, because im going to do it by myself too 👍
It is definitely worth the peace of mind knowing that the lines are clear and the fluid is new! Thank you for watching!
To each their own!… I prefer the later bug eyes.😁💪🏻
I absolutely love the newer models! I love the 765 models and the 1200 rs.
Your old light can we talk privately
Sure, you can email me on jaredjoubert93@gmail.com
Well done, but I like the old ones better.
Thank you! For me in paticular, I think the chrome was just too much.
You could try painting the chrome matte black and try keeping the classic look, I have seen it on some, and it looks really good. Nice videos nonetheless. Keep up the good work!
