How to Build a Modern Hammock with Toja Grid
Join Megan and I as we partner with Toja Grid to build this modern dream hammock. This project cost us just under $200 in cedartone treated 4x4 posts and they supplied the entire kit that we have been wanting to purchase for years. A very easy build that would’ve been easier with more help, but we managed to get this all completed in 4 hours. This made our backyard firepit area feel like a home campsite!

I RUINED my floor! How to Fix Floor Leveler
Просмотров 205Год назад
I definitely used WAY too much material on this self leveler pour. I realized my mistake and had to find a solution. Notice how I use a 4’ level to try and center it over each bump. Hopefully seeing someone else do this helps you out.

Building a Modern Shed by Yourself: Part 1
I need to order one unit. How do we go about this? I am based in Zambia do younhave an outlet in South africa
Great job What size planks are you using for the louvers
your an id!ot😂
Z flashing knucklehead.
Looks awesome!
I usually sheet my walls before stacking rafters, might tear my hair out otherwise 😂
What's the last thing you said? You "back bevel" it a little bit?
good job
Looks very nice. If you throw a roof on top, how will you add a gutter? I want to build pergola with a roof but need to give it a 2% pitch and add a gutter to drain the rain and melted snow. Does the Toja Grid have a slanted option? I will look into it. Thank you.
a beveled edge, even sharper, would be good on the inside to promote laminar flow in the area where the fan discharges in front. otherwise great job!
is this josh allen the bills qb?
Unfortunately it is not 😂
Looks awesome! 🙂
Isn't this the product we produce
What is the purpose of a pergola without a roof?
None 😂
Agreed, we are adding a metal roof to it in a later video!
@@joshallen_builds looking forward to that!
This is so stupidly unnecessary
I’ll take stupidly dry any day lol
Всё супер! Но я бы сделал пол выше земли чтобы во времена дождя, и ветров не попадало вода , и грязь! А так мне нравится! Супер. Салам малейкум из Таджикистана.
Good job.
Ryobi has better nailers
What was the total Cost of your project
What type of wood did you use? Pressure treated what?
Lmfao I think you meant 1-3/8” that makes me question everything you just said
Nice. Paint it white to reflect heat.
Amazon has kits much cheaper and if you’re in a pinch use QUALITY vinyl post with the same 4 or 6x dimensions. I made a few this way with wood rafters to attach sheet metal panels. Just like pipes use quality grade vinyl for the structure. If you’re using wood treat the foot ends of the posts and touch up the finish. Save yourself lots of money sourcing material instead of expensive kits. Some of the most expensive pergola kits are non timber composites.
toga grid has priced themselves outta the market in my area. The PVC is a good idea. hmmm...
You don't have a skill saw? Or better yet a track saw?
This was for minimizing dust in my home. The circ saw I have would’ve throttled my house. I don’t own a tracks saw unfortunately.
whoa those bracket kits are expensive
How much I had to listen three times still didn't get it
$350 in pine
CONCERNING THE CRACKS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOOD, STRESS CRACKS FISSURES, WHATEVER THEY CALL THEM, I'M HALF WAY THROUGH MY BUILD AND I SEE THEM ALL OVER ONE POST, WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THE MATTER, I SEE YOURS HAS THEM TOO
They’re treated 6x6s. They dry out and these cracks occur. I’m not concerned.
@@joshallen_builds OK COOL YEA HAPPENDED TO ME RECENTLY
@@joshallen_builds LOWES SELLS A GREAT WOOD FILLER . I PUT IT ON MY CRACKS TODAY. DRIED FAST AND HARD. TOMORROW I SAND IT AND PAINT OVER IT. SEAL THOSE CRACKS
@@joshallen_builds I JUST FIXED MINE WITH LOWES WOOD FILLER, GREAT STUFF, CAME OUT CLEAN
what are the Dimensions??
That looks great. Not spending $2K for just the hardware though.
I could understand that. I would call it worth the spend though once you see how nicely made these are.
i agreee way too much
hi! what type of lumber is this?
Menards treated cedartone
did you notice any noise reduction in the compressor noise?
Great job thanks for sharing
How is he wood shrinkage since the post go in loose
Almost a year later and it’s just as stout as the day we installed.
Did you have to do any more modification to the 6x6's to achieve a pitched roof with brackets that seem to be square?
No, the pitch I created was so minimal that it all fit perfectly fine.
Looks so good! Could you anchor to existing pavers?
BEAUTY
Thank you!

تم الاشتراك انا احب هذه الأعمال.. تحياتي من الجزائر
Thank you!
How tall are your vertical posts?
Tallest are 8’ but they slope toward the back left to a minimum height of 7’10” for when I roof it
What product? There are a ton of options on Nova USA wood website. Is it “natural”
Job well done. I hope to do one by this summer
Nice! You won’t regret it
So annoying
Great video! I’m a complete noob at wood or anything like this, so excuse my question if it is too dumb: Do you have to deal with moisture trapped in the brackets that could rot the wood overtime?
Not a dumb question at all! The bracket actually have a lip that keeps the post off of the concrete to create an air gap. Not concern for rot.
@@joshallen_builds thanks! I’m talking about the brackets at the top, especially the horizontal parts where the 6x6s are inserted. The bracket in that part has holes and I don’t see any gaps between the wood and the bracket itself.
Excellent! Be interesting to see what material you used to fill it.
So what is the reason for adding this to the finish?
Return the cut into the wall
110% dope
Nice job!
Thats what ive always done
Looking forward to seeing how you will put the roof.
Stay tuned!
@@joshallen_buildswhat about that roof?
When I have trim that bumps out from the casing, or anything that hangs out weird I do a outside 45 returns. Shoe I hit with a inside 15.
