❤🔥👍💯
This is fascinating. This was a lot more comprehensive than a lot of music theory videos out there, but still was really in depth. Great video bro Edit: Subbed
thanks for the basic metal music theory \m/
Where did you study composition. Cool stuff.
Cool where did you study and how far did you go. F Chopin Bach rules.
Awesome man 🤘🏻 Rachmaninov is my favourite composer too. New subscriber ✌🏻
Human Abstract type shi, i love it!
If that happened then other musicians would be out of a Job.
Could you drop the tabs please?
Just tried the Omega today. It’s like the perfect mix between the Nameless and a 5150.
Preset?
I wouldn't say Aggressive Evolution blends the pretty and the scary parts so seamlessly. The chorus dropping is a little offputting. New Faces In The Dark and Screaming do the best work at that. I don't know how you see that in terms of harmony, but when you hear the songs that's how it is.
So sick keep it up
So, Protest the Hero? Great Playing!
this actually SLAMS
Ths gives Feeding The Abscess era Martyr Vibes and i love it.
Wonderful
Thank you!
That sounds great, I think this is how human abstract did most of their stuff as well
Thanks! I think so as well. I’m still upset that they broke up
S i c k af
0:19 this opening passage reminds me so much of As Eden Burns who would sound just as awesome played by a melodic death metal band or a classically trained pianist
100% stealing this so i can bridge my harmonic minor riffs for catchier choruses
Not trying to be a jerk but It sounds absolutely nothing like Mozart. BUT when you stated that you'd try to make Mozart sound like metal I immediately had the feeling it would not work. Once a violinist friend said that Mozarts music is like a crystal, the slightest thing will pop like a fingerprint. Most Mozart themes are based on chord arpeggios of some kind. The repetition might work but the lack of melodic contour in his style makes this seem much more like a regulat metal song than a "Mozart Style" metal song. AND it's not like someone commented that you'd have to rip off his music you can incorporate his ideas and style and create something that resembles him, but that would be a deep dive I don't know if you'd be willing to make, if this doesn't suit your life purposes.
Not being a jerk for sharing your thoughts. My goal wasn’t to sound like Mozart but to answer a curiosity of mine: what would Mozart’s note choices sound like in a metal context. The only element of Mozart’s composition remaining in my little song are the notes he chose for a few short excerpts of his sonata, none of which even comprise a whole phrase. I specifically didn’t want the song to sound like the simple stile galant periodic structure of Mozart’s music. I enjoy doing this with many different composers. I take a selection of note choices, sometimes from a harmonic structure, sometimes from a melodic one, and then use the notes as raw material to compose with. It’s just a fun composition exercise for me. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!
so thats guitar theory
one parts sound kinda proggy, very nice
You are an incredible guitar player i can see you have the knowledge and the feel good work 🤌🏼
I appreciate that, thank you!
This is awesome!
What you're ACTUALLY supposed to do, is entirely rip off Mozart note for note in multiple songs, and hope no one notices. 🤭
Hey look, it's that guy who does good covers of Archspire songs
@@alxndrlondon i think this guy his les hair though
Hahahaha I mean, it sounds sick so I won’t tattle

This was cool 👍
Nice. I would like to hear longer version, where common composition tropes of late baroque and early classical era.
That’s a great idea! I’ll see what I can do
What software are you using to transcribe?
Amazing Slow Downer
save paper use gpro for writing it down XD
I would, genuinely, but I’m faster and think more clearly with pencil and paper. GP is for the final versions
how about transcribing chords
1. Listen to the “bottom” of the chord to determine the root and/or lowest note (the lowest note isn’t always the root) 2. The vast majority of chords have one of these triad types at the core of their construction: major, minor, diminished, augmented. I listen to hear if the chord in question is of one of those qualities If it’s not, it’s either a power chord, a two-note dyad or a sus chord 3. Once I’ve determined the basic quality, I listen for extensions: 7th, 9th 11ths and 13ths 4. Once I’ve found any extensions. I spell out the chord and reference the “bottom note” from step one to determine if the chord is in root position or an inversion 5. Finally, I listen for the voicing of the chord and arrange it on my guitar accordingly IF the chord is more advanced than the ones solved by the above process. I play individual notes on my guitar as I loop the sound of the chord in Amazing Slow Downer until I confirm as many individual notes as I can, then voice the chord.
@andrewboothmusic thank you very much ❤️
Any advice for a basically deaf all time beginner with no interest in music theory and especially notes ? :-D Yeah..Iam a guitar TAB guy
I personally like to use tab books, they are easier to use I think
Sick
"I said slowly" is too real. My teacher forced me to learn Pastorius riffs on bass at 30bpm. I would forget to breathe because it was so disorientating. Sounds great after though haha
Transcribing one note per time was something I was too ashamed to try. I always tried to transcribe figures, got overwhelmed and gave up. Didn’t think it’s actually a legit way.
I’ve always done what it takes to finish a transcription. I’d rather transcribe one note a time and end up learning the thing than force myself to transcribe long phrases, get frustrated then give up. This single-note transcription style is only my approach for music that’s at the upper level of what my ear can track. Easier music can definitely be transcribed in phrases
When I first started learning guitar (18) I was playing in Drop B. Shortly after moved to Drop A#. Then joined a band that played Drop A. Shortly after joined a band that played Drop G#. Now I play in a band that plays in Drop G. I feel like I've totally screwed myself in seeing the fretboard as notes instead of numbers.
Not at all! Continue to visualize your fretboard as if it was tuned to standard. This will reduce confusion when you’re playing in different tunings. Because musical structures are the same regardless of key, it doesn’t matter which specific key you use to visualize your fretboard as long as you know how to transpose to the “sounding key” in whatever tuning you’re in
Teaching music theory to guitarists!
That’s the goal!
the color on that dingo is fantastic
Your channel is an absolute gem. You're going to blow up if you stay consistent. Great stuff.
Thank you for the motivating words! I hope I can prove you right
Absolutely gorgeous chord progression. So much tension and release in there!
Nice stuff
Improve your audio. MIc is too far.
Necrophagist
Sir, it seems your black guitar has long neck and low tone. Is it baritone guitar?
Mozart would be proud (probably, idk I’ve never met him)
I don't get why people are annoyed with it not being an actual piece by Mozart, I think it's way cooler and more impressive to compose something in the style of Mozart and then turn it into tech death instead of straight up quoting him. Don't get me wrong, classical quotations in tech death are sick, but this is something else, and it's great.
"writing in the style" is also more educational!
cool riffs but its hard to tell that they are in the style of Mozart.
It’s actually not in the style of Mozart at all. I took Mozart’s note choices and played them how I think a modern tech death guitarist would
@@andrewboothmusic Interesting. Perhaps I am not familiar enough wither Mozart or Tech Death, but its difficult for me to tell those riffs are associated with Mozart without seeing the title. Either way, an interesting video. Looking forward to seeing more of your content.
