Getting a dog to take medication can be tricky, but my vet suggested a surprising method: Putting it inside a marshmallow. And it worked! Keep in mind, NEVER give a dog a food containing xylitol or artificial sweetener, including marshmallows so read that ingredient list And it's always a good idea to speak with your vet first.

Thanksgiving dinner for dogs: Make this FEAST in 20 minutes or less
Thanks!!
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Can we give them raw organs? Such as liver or needs to be cooked?
I personally don’t give my dogs raw meat of any kind. I know many pet owners who do, but I just don’t trust that the raw meat available for me to purchase is free of pathogens. Thus, I cook my dogs’ meat, fish, and poultry to the USDA recommended temperatures.
great video... wildfires still going on
Thank you! The fires are mostly out, and we are thankful to be safe from them. 🙏
What brand tuna or canned chicken do u recommend? Should it be low sodium?
Yes, I’d suggest as low as sodium as possible. As for brand, Chicken of the Sea is usually my go-to, but I’m not married to a brand for this. Thanks for watching and all my best to you and your pack! 👍
Never ever use non stick coating! NEVER! Stainless steel or cast iron only. Non stick has toxic poisons in them which in turn enter your body and your fur families bodies which will cause other health issues. Other than that eggs are great for your dog.
I love how much silliness and joy he brings to your life so heartwarming!
Indeed! Thank you!! 🙏
Outdated, garlic is actually good in small amounts as well as raw meat and bones
I am going to make sure I start cooking for my dog. He will love it!
Wonderful! I’m sure he will. 👍
I thank you now I have recipes for everything extra that I don’t eat ! So awesome 👏🏼 I like to use everything and now I ask my butcher to save everything off his homegrown cows !
Fantastic! Nothing goes to waste 👍
Thank you!!! I've never tried this but I will definitely give it a go the next time I need to give my pups medicine. This is very helpful!!! 🙌😊🎉
Glad to hear! Between this method or a big glob of peanut butter, the pills are easier to give. All my best to you and your dog 🙏
@BarkingGoodChef thank you!! 😊 Haha, that's very true!! 🤣

Some info is inaccurate. First, we do know why grapes are harmful to some dogs who consume a lot. Tartaric acid is the chemical in grapes that is toxic in high amounts in some dogs. Keep in mind many dogs eat grapes without a problem. Why would we want to give garlic, you ask? Because it is antiviral, antibacterial, antiparasitic , and cancer fighting. Garlic is very healthy for dogs and even cats can eat in small amounts, as medicine. Problem is some people overdo it, namely scientists who are trying to find a toxic dose. Also, you say that xylitol is artifical sweetener but its not. It is natural element found in sugarcane. Raw fed can be done safely in most dogs with good gut function. Commercial raw is often HPP, so no risks of pathogen.
Wish I knew about you years ago. Thank you for healthy recipes for us sir.
Thank you for watching! Glad the recipes are helpful. All my best to you and your dogs 🙏
Great video, thanks!!
Thank you for watching! 🙏
I give my oldest can pumkin he loves it. Good video.
Thank you! My dogs also love pumpkin.
My dog absolutely loves these but I cook them myself I don’t use the canned ones
Right on! I usually cook my own, too. Overnight soak and then in an Instant Pot they go. But even canned are better than none, in my - and my dogs’ - opinion 😀
More isn't better. Perhaps clue folks in on how much liver is safe and healthy to give your pet. I've heard it's about 5% of the diet.
As always, speak with your vet about the nutrition needs of your particular dog. No two dogs will have the same requirements. Thanks for watching and all my best to you and yours.
Liver is a healthy food. Don't discourage people by being such a weenie about it.
How come you put salt in it? And why the pot saying 30 min,but you saying 1;30 min? Thx. It is a good recepy
I put a little salt so my dogs get iodine, an important nutrient to prevent goiters. As for the time, 30 minutes is the cooking time; it takes about an additional hour for the electric pressure cooker to come up to temperature and then release pressure when the cooking is done. Thanks for watching and all my best to you
As soon as you said that the chicken liver stinks while cooking… I am gone.
Yes, it is quite strong, thus I recommend cooking it outdoors if possible.
@ the Spanish cook it sautéed in sherry wine sauce. “Higaditos de Pollo al Jerez”, Andalucia, Spain. Try it, you’ll like it, cooked indoors.
What do you mean clean ? They dont have sliced heart just one piece.
If that’s the case, you can slice it up, which is what I do when the butcher only has whole heart. For cleaning, I just rinse it under cold water before slicing into pieces and cooking. I hope this helps clear things up. All my best to you and your dog!🙏
@@BarkingGoodChef thank you so very much ,do I need to be concerned about the veins !
I don’t think so. I just cook it all and my dogs love it. You can always confer with your vet if still unsure.
Is it safe for dogs too eat as is or do i have too clean it ?
You probably don’t NEED to rinse it, but it tends to be pretty bloody, so I rinse under cold water before slicing and cooking
I do it crock pot .
That’s a great tool for making homemade dog food 🙌
You're a man, act like it, sissy!
I’ve watched so many of this videos on how to make dog food using an insta pot and this has been the most basic and best video 🐾💯
Glad to hear! Thank you for watching, and all my best to you and your pack 🙏
Tried your dog food my dog loved it she quit eating kibble food and wouldn’t touch it thanks for easy receipts need help she needs to take vita disc every have to put powder from pill in food when I do that she won’t touch it tried everything no matter what I put it in she won’t touch it what can I do I’m at the end of the line any suggestions
I’m glad your dog loved the food. Mine won’t touch kibble anymore, either, so I feed them only homemade. In addition to conferring with your vet, my suggestion is to keep feeding your dog the homemade and quality foods that she will eat. All my best to you and your dog. 🙏
Do I need to add vitiamins to dog food
I personally add canine vitamins and supplements like calcium to mine.
I give it to mine all raw...also spleen....also everything in the chicken & turkey field, She Loves rabbit...she eats better then I do 😊
🙌 That shows how much we love them!
I use either coconut oil or sunflower oil
Great choices! 👍
What kinda oil not all oil good 4 dog
I use a basic vegetable oil.
Coconut oil is very good for dogs and my picky huskies love it!
Extra virgin olive oil is a healthy oil for dogs, and is even recommended
I wrap mine in aluminum and throw in the oven 30 min . It masks the smell and I open aluminum 5 to 10 min to help dry it out . For taste, I smeared an organic sesame seed oil dressing. My dog lovvvvves it. I’m trying to eat liver myself but not quite there yet. ❤❤❤❤❤
Great idea and lucky dog!! 😋
I know my four dogs will love this. Thank you. 👍
Yes! I bet they will. Thanks for watching and all my best to you and your pack 🙏
Hello thank you for showing how to cook this great food for dogs! I have 2 Canaan dogs only 5 generations from the wild. Most of their food is slow cooked in low temperature. Not slot of carbs and fish twice a month. I live in rural Alaska and the dogs look better than they ever have since I've been cooking all their food. Not much on fruit. They do like the doggy ice cream I make them from greek yogurt peanut butter and a little honey and freeze. Eggs and gizzards for breakfast and 14 pounds of dry food last over a month. Cottage cheese is their favorite snack. My female Rubee Tuesday got epilepsy from a fall when she was a puppy, got her on medication and found out she can't have store bought wet food it will give her sizures. She no longer has to take meds for her epilepsy!! These are beautiful and faithful dogs. They are show dogs but now they're just fur babies. Moose and Rubee are going to love the beef heart. It's been hard to find but found some today. Now if beef tounge wasn't so expensive (50.00$) I'd but them lots of it. Liver dosen't do good for them. Gave them RUNNY poos!! So I've stayed with chicken. I think they will like thinking they are getting steak for dinner. I was told that because they are so close the wild side that a raw diet would be best. They like raw meat alot but it doesn't keep as long as cooked. Usually bake their chicken for about 6 hours in a low oven. If I do make them rice I use only brown and not alot. They even eat black eyed peas🙃. They don't pumpkin. Thank you again.❤🐕🐕
Thank you very much for watching! Moose and Rubee sure are lucky to have you as a parent. I can feel the love and care you have for them. We should all be so blessed. All my best to you and your pack! 🙏
This food is not balanced in terms of Calcium. A good rule of thumb is to add approximately 800 to 1,000 milligrams of calcium, or ½ teaspoon ground eggshell, per pound of fresh food
Good point on calcium - a vital nutrient for dogs. Here’s an entire video I did on that topic: ruclips.net/video/sd3z17F-6-g/видео.html
Great video. My favorite part is that dogs don't like cold food🤭 I make meals like this to my pup But he is picky so I have to add another step that is mix in the food processor. But I'm glad to find out I'm doing pretty good without even knowing lol:)
Indeed, and your pup is so lucky to have you! Thanks for watching and all my best to you and yours. 🙏
Gonna try this sans fat for my dachshunds
I hope they love it as much as my dogs do! Thanks for watching and all my best to you and yours 🙏
Thank you! Short simple informative and to the point!!
How much does it make? And how long will it last for a 24 pound maltipoo? Can you freeze it?
If memory serves this should yield a couple of quarts, which should translate to several meal. Feel free to adjust ratios to make more or less, and yes, you can freeze. Cheers! 👍
You were right, I cooked it in my house and I totally regret it. The worst smell ive ever created, and its lingering. Also my dog dont want anything to do with it.
Ugh. Sorry to hear about the house and pup. Dogs usually love it.
Turned over to a cooked diet for my 8 year old dog with hot spot issues. I have been supplementing 1 oz of raw organ meat for the last 3-4 months. His skin is fully healed!
Good to hear! All my best to you and your dog 🙏
Wait. Organ meats are super foods for dogs. But should not exceed 20% of their meals because of toxicity from overdosing certain vitamins. This is standard home feeding knowledge.
Dogs do cook their livers in the wild
How much per day for a 20 lbs dog?
Here is a good general guideline from PetMD (see chart), and as always, discuss individual needs with your dog’s vet. All the best to you and your pup! www.petmd.com/dog/nutrition/are-you-feeding-your-dog-right-amount
Thank you for ur breakfast recipe **
You’re welcome! I hope your dog enjoys it😋
I could see this being good as an additive to the diet, but it has too many nutritional gaps to be balanced unless you balance over time using multiple recipes. The Ingredients are all good stuff, so, I’d definitely feed it if I had a variety of recipes with differing ingredients to fill in the gaps.
I own and raise chickens. Most of mine lay brown eggs and yes the color of their ear lobes tell you what color the will lay. Mine are free range and their yolks are almost orange most of the time depending on what they eat. My chickens personally never have that light yellow that most store bought eggs have. I also notice that I’m not an egg eater but when I eat my chickens eggs they are much fluffier.
Right on. I imagine those homegrown eggs are wonderful! Thanks for watching and all my best to you and your pack 🐕
Thanks for the video. I've never made liver and had no clue how to. My best friend has developed some stomach issues, most likely cancer or IBD. A few years back she started having seizures and has to take phenobarbital twice a day and most mornings she won't eat so It's hard to get her to take a pill. Going to give liver a shot. One of the comments in this video said beef broth lines a dog's guts, is that true, do you know? Maybe a little food soaked in it would help her feel a little better.
Hi, Randy, first and foremost I’m sorry to hear about your friend. I hope she can find healing, and I know she has an amazing friend in you. If you’re thinking of cooking liver for her, I would recommend soaking it in milk overnight. This is the normal prep for cooking liver for us humans. Just toss the milk and rinse the liver before cooking. Soaking it this ways helps decrease the pungency of taste. As for the beef broth question, I don’t know. But broth in general has been eaten/drank for millennia. My thoughts are with you both. 🙏
If your dog has allergies. Dry skin, itching ,ear infection or diabetic these are a go to for fibre and bulk
Two cups of rice is too much starch. I use 1 or even 1/2 cup. The ratio of meat to everything else should be much higher…
No need to peel the sweet potato… there are vitamins in the skin. My dogs love everything.
