Here's some video from February when we did a day trip to Cape May, New Jersey to rockhound, shell and look for sea glass on Sunset Beach. The brass in the keys keeps the bacteria from eating the twine. Brass, copper, gold and silver are antimicrobial and you can find leather or rope attached to an item with these metals intact. The sun tints clear glass purple if it's on the surface long enough. That bottle has been there a long time but seems like it was dug up with dirt and re-discarded/dumped accidentally on the surface awhile ago? It not, it's a miracle it has been there that long!

      @myradioon - Thanks for watching and the intel. I found that bottle in the same woods where I've found other old bottles (in earlier videos of mine) such as applied top soda bottles and old medicines. It was at the bottom of a hill and it looked like a lot of debris got swept there recently from heavy rain. I'm figuring it was either in with the other debris and got carried there or it was under just enough dirt that got cleared off and revealed it. I was looking very carefully though since I know that area has old bottles. Thanks again and please check back some time soon - Paul

    i know that river area well. pretty slim pickings. if you want to see what the blue mother load north of w.c. produced before the site became totally developed into ticky-tacky townhouses, i invite you to visit my 'rock yard' near kennett. bro & i must have picked 200+ pounds of lovely azure nodules and mini-boulders. there is/was a whole lot of yellow and brown jasper up that way also; some of it boulder size, too big to lift. and there was no need to get yer feet wet unless it was pouring rain. chester county is mineral rich. it's a great place to be a dedicated rockhound. keep on rockin' !

    Just a thought - I wonder if the house is a remnant left from either the logger boom, or perhaps it was used by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) as remote lodging for their workers - especially if the camp was too far to go home every night. Just guessing lol......

      @dirtsandandrocks Месяц назад

      @colleenhelminiak1429 - Thanks for the comment. The house wasn't that far away from a pretty heavily traveled road, but it was in the woods, and off the road enough where you couldn't see or hear traffic. I'm sorry if I gave the impression that it was deeper in the woods then it truly was. The house is now gone. It was leveled about a year ago with all of the contents still inside. All that's there now is a grassy field where the house once stood. Thanks for watching - Paul
