Are You Fat-Making or Calorie-Burning?
Канада
Добавлен 25 янв 2020
These videos will share the tools and strategies you need in order to enjoy sustainable success with your fat-loss and weight-loss goals. Videos will discuss the decisions only controlled by you and the resulting reactions only controlled by your body. I am 74; I lost 40 lbs in my early 60s and kept it off. I got rid of my belly-fat and my arm-fat; and, I can buy any clothing I want. I want you to start your journey-to-fitness NOW. Consider these statements - maybe you're not eating enough to lose weight, eating fat-free foods does not mean they are not fattening, food is a powerful hormone drug, maybe daily treadmill running is not the most efficient way to lose body-fat. Want explanations? Watch this series of informative videos. If I could do it in my early 60s, so can you, Bev.

Food Labels & Carbs
In my mind, it's unfortunate that in this decade carbohydrates seem to have become the diet villain. It used to be fats, and fortunately, protein has never come under the knife.
In any case, if you're counting carbs, you really want to concern yourself with NET carbs. What are these and how to do calculate their value when most food labels do not list NET carbs??? They list TOTAL carbs only.
Check out my Instagram page for workout information and more at @calorieburningat72 or just buy my globally available book "Are You Fat-making or Calorie-burning?"

Apple Cider Vinegar & Sauerkraut Juice
You explained it perfectly mam. Thank you.
Thanks for telling me. I try to simplify the complex. Do have a productive week.
Once you retire you can start to live an active lifestyle. Then you workout to aid that active lifestyle. I could have never had a non active job. I workout at home, i do miss the social aspect of a gym
Yes, l agree. I was lonely working out at home during covid AND l never worked out enough. I missed cable machines!
All digestive enzymes should be balanced. Hence, if any of those catalysts are off then, yes, it would be more difficult to efficiently digest the macronutrient with which it's more closely associated.
Question: If your amylase is outside of the normal range, does that make it harder to 'burn carbs"? Same question with lipase... (I do know that's something where you need to get your pancreas checked, but curious about impact on losing weight). Thanks!
she's cooking ppl listen up
Thanks very much. I love processing info so that it's easier to understand. Have a super productive week!❤

Now do the environmental toxins that run through our pipes and exist in the plain old water. Or perhaps a topic that *isn’t* beating a dead horse paired with a channel name not dripping with misogyny??
I have always used tap water. I like the minerals, etc. in it. In Toronto, there is flouride in the water as well. Bottled water....who knows from where is actually came?

Beth, your video just popped up on my feed. I thought you were new to this whole RUclips thing. I was going to suggest you make 100 videos before giving up. But then I see you have 312 videos. And then I wondered why you weren't getting a whole of subscribers. You should be getting a whole lot more. I know you probably don't want unsolicited advice. It's usually painful. But I will mention it anyway because I think your channel should have thousands, tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Everything you are doing is great. The only problem is that you are speaking to a broad audience. You should niche down. You would easily be a RUclips hero if you niched down to an audience that you could be inspired by. And that audience is your age group. So, your channel could be titled Massive Weight Loss for Women Over 65. There, done! Huge audience!
Thanks very much for the suggestions. Appreciate the advice. That said, l'm not really tech savvy. I'm probably also not using hadhtags to my best benefit 😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this presentation! Someone close to me passed away from esophageal cancer and the doctor confirmed that carbonation is very bad for your esophagus as it elongates it, interfering with its proper functioning leading to heartburn and GERD, which can cause cancer. I love carbonated drinks, and was recently drinking the sugar free Bubbly, but this video has convinced me to put it down for good. Thank you again for educating the public on this! Your information just might save someone's life.
I amso sorry to hear about your friend. I didn't know that carbonation can affect the esophagus. Very interesting indeed!
I don't know who this person is or what qualifies her to discuss nutrition. However her example of good fiber to eat was celery (1.6 gm per cup), yet to get 25 grams of fiber would mean eating over 15 cups per day. Obviously no one would do that, so what kind of carbs should we eat? And what about other nutritional & health concerns might we have that would negate this high fiber diet other than constipation? For most gut issues your doctor will tell you to NOT eat fibrous foods to heal your gut. Also feeding your microbiome (she called it 'probiotics') this way is not essential to your gut health since when you change your diet your microbiome will also change. Protein and fatty acids ARE the essential macro nutrients your body requires to maintain health, not carbs. And a proper human diet will not cause constipation and will give you better energy if you eat enough of both. In fact your body is capable of creating the glucose that it needs to support your brain and blood cells without raising your insulin to do it. Eating the wrong carbs will spike insulin which over time leads to obesity and many chronic conditions that could be prevented. And certain carbs from plants are also high in toxins if not prepared properly - and some cannot be negated at all (oxalates, eg). Most people will not know how to balance their nutrients for their own particular needs and turn to supplements which often may not be bioavailable despite their claims, or to various diet hacks that might not work for them. Therefore we need to educate ourselves on what a proper diet would be since we each have different requirements. Here is a link to some Healthline articles that go into more depth on what we need to know if we want to eat carbs - and there is more to know that your doctor probably doesn't: www.healthline.com/nutrition/15-ways-to-eat-less-carbs#curb-sugar-sweetened-drinks www.healthline.com/nutrition/21-best-low-carb-vegetables#TOC_TITLE_HDR_16
Thanks so much for your analysis. Well said, but please listen again. I use celery as an example of a carb that is relatively high in fibre and low in calories. I didn't say only eat celery. Have a productive week and keep sharing information.
YOU MAKE IT EASY TO UNDERSTAND.THANK YOU
Thanks so much. It isn't easy to condense complex information into easy to understand and doing it in only a few minutes. 😢
I love psyllium
Great, all the best for a productive week ahead.
Very well explained. Thank you! In terms of food and exercise, I am already pretty happy (food with as little ingredients as possible and 80-90% weight lifting). But the amount and quantity of sleep still might need some fine tuning. 🙈
Thanks so much. Yes, sleep is important for sure. If l can't get back to sleep in the middle of the night, l come down to the kitchen and play solitaire for about 30-40 minutes. It relaxes my mind, l guess, because l can usually fall back asleep relatively quickly. Have a productive week.
Crazy how often the food with the least amount of human intervention is the best Nice content
Absolutely. As they say, don't eat anything your Grandma wouldn't recognize!😮
Hey there. I'm a 64 year old retired guy who goes out of his way to be as healthy as possible. I also don't have much money at all (under poverty level) and I always buy the expensive organic pasture raised eggs, because I was under the impression that they are healthier than the rest. Have I been throwing my money away ?
Well, from one perspective, yes. But if that company let's them live a normal hen life outdoors....and if that is highly important to you, then no.
Organic pasture raised only way to go
Best but when it comes to Eggs all are usable. Not like strawberries or meat
Yes, if it is the truth.
Where's part 2? Thank you!
This is an old video. I did Part 2 the next day. It should be in the same playlist. I will check....OK, check out the Food Choices playlist. Look down through the list. Let me know if you can't find it.

This is the ONE and ONLY explanation I have every found clear and helpful. Why on earth are your videos and your channel not getting millions of views. Maybe redo the thumbnails. and link the vids at the end. You should as you have the entire model here.... a great book, pure authority (your own experience) and mature aged creators are now really taking off. Your content is INCREDIBLE....and I will be bingeing my way through it over coming weeks. ... and worthy of being a million subscribe channel.
Thanks so much for your positive review. I just don't know really how to use social media. I just post.😅😅
Thanks so much. I am not really social media savvy😅😢
Even before this, I had heard that cardio doesn't help with weight loss. Yet, at least among the many people whom I've personally known over many decades, _consistently_ the leanest are marathon runners, i.e. people who are engaged in one of the most excessive cardio exercises of our age. So, how is it that they don't have a lot of muscle (i.e. these are _lean_ runners, not body builders) nor do they have a lot of fat, and yet they consistently eat more than most people around them (including me)?
Did you measure their calories in? Eating a ton of healthy food is less Calories than a donut. And how do you know they don't have a lot of muscle? Normal people with a lot of muscle don't look big in clothes. Don't confuse that with instagram models on steroids. Also, the rule of "cardio doesn't burn more calories" breaks down once you get to ultra high volume professional athletes. But being an athlete has to be your job, 8 hours a day.
You are correct, marathon runners don't have a lot of excess fat storage and they don't necessarily have a low body fat percentage either. That last point is related to the fact that excessive cardio increases catabolic hormones (cortisol and adrenaline). These cause the breakdown of muscle tissue for energy and cortisol brings out fat-storing enzymes. Most certainly, marathon runners have developed a high blood volume pump per heartbeat, and increased their stroke volume and red blood cells - this gives them great endurance. They have also built up more slow twitch muscle fibres. But you will won't see a lot of toned (defined muscles) marathoners. Bodybuilders use fat as energy too, but cardio uses more (as long as the person is fit!)
Most of this is good, but some is nonsense. lemons are acidic, not alkaline. So is honey. Weight training is effective but can’t outdo a bad diet-a diet based on a slight calorie deficit (200-300 per day) will do far better than trying to make sure you avoid acidic food.
Lemons are acidic yes, but when they are metabolized by the body, they become alkaline with a pH well above 7.0
Oh sorry, same thing for honey.
Hence lemon in water is good for an upset stomach
Thank you for saying 1 lb of fat weighs the same as 1 lb of muscle. I have been so tired of hearing people say fat weighs more than muscle as if they've never heard of volume. I always say to compare how a pound of muscle looks to a pound of popcorn, then they get it. Thanks for the info and comparison.
Yes, a pound is a pound is a pound....😅...
Masha Allah, perfect explanation
Thanks very much, have a productive day
really good , keep going .........
Thanks so much
Sorry lady, but way off base. Ok yeah limit fruit. Just heard you say something right. Oh snap, and veggies inefficiently digested. Now you are getting somewhere. Black of fiber does not equal constipation and carbs are not the only source of energy.
Sorry, but energy comes from glucose and only carbs provide that. Indeed that's why the body ends up going after stored glycogen (mostly found in muscle tissue) when someone is not eating any carbs. It needs the stored carbs for the glucose.
@@bevmerriman2305 how many stores carbs does one have?
Everyone is different, but glycogen (stored carbs) is in bothe the liver and the muscles. Maybe 90% in muscle tisdue.@Sonic45473
About 600 grams@@Sonic45473
OMG
Carbs are the current villian....so sad
Carnivore for 9 months but sweeten my daily coffee with artificial sweetner. My HA1C stayed high at 5.9. I'm weaning off hopefully by 1/1/25.
I hope you get rebalanced. The body is so amazing.
All kinds of fallacies in this one.
Yes, it's so sad that carbs have been kicked to the roadside. A couple of decades ago, dietary fat was the villian. Hard to make cell membranes without fat! Thank goodness protein hasn't been!
Thank you for this simple explanation. I did lose weight when I was consuming erythritol and xylitol sweeteners but it was probably because I was having so many digestive issues caused by them.
I hope you are doing well.
To the pt...sometimes issues are not so simple though...I wished it was that easy!
Well, in my videos, I try to condense the relevant research into just a few minutes. The body just tries to save you, with its biochemistry.
@@areyoufat-makingorcalorie-8041 Much depends upon the purity and strength of the spirit...and any karma...that can influence the physical body through the astral body, the latter needed for many processes that are automatic, and which affect the biochemistry. But undoubtedly, if a person respects the laws of creation, he will take very seriously his diet. We are what we eat...and think and feel. The talk was snappy and incisive...yet holistic, and gave enough basic information for common folk to realise how they can transform their diet by omitting certain groups of foods that are of detriment to their body and soul...not least as fierce addictions will await people in the beyond, if they do not cast them aside. Thanks for the video!
@nialloneill5097 Thanks for your comment. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Also, l like to say, "Your hormones are what you eat" 😊
@@bevmerriman2305 The hormones are largely influenced by the Spirit...and its qualities...via the astral body. The earth too has an astral body, with pts of energy...just like acupuncture highlights similar pts on the human body...highlighting the importance of prayer and good thoughts...to empower the body thro the astral body...which is sometimes seen by Healers. Most illness is caused by karma linked to these bodies. Thus, good health can onlt come to humans when they live aright...and eat aright, for only then do they draw the power from the Ray of Divine Love. For love...is always the answer, not least as poor living and diets, and wrongdoings and karma are all fear-based. As the Beatles said...Love is All
this spells it out!
haha, yes, I had fun with that video............thanks and do have a productive week ahead
Problem of eating too much saturated fat - becomes bad?? Where is the explanation?
Sorry, l find I can only try my best to keep complex topics relatively short. Saturated fats (as with trans fats) are quite different than unsaturated fats in terms of usefulness for the body. Why? Because they are not very malleable. Fatty acids and unsaturated fats have carbon and hydrogen chains with some spaces here and there. But saturated fats have been hydrogenated, leaving little movement. They get more solid when cooled. They don't have a lot of spaces, they were filled with hydrogen to buy more time on the shelves. Polyunsaturated fats stay liquid on the shelf and in the frig. I did another video on this a couple of years back. I think it's about 13 minutes long!
sugars and insulin are the problem, not the fat..... the same amount of people that have low cholesterol have the same # of cardiac events as those with high cholesterol...Insulin resistance and pre diabetic conditions is the concern !
Exactly!!!! Simple Carbs that get turned into excessive glucose along with Deitary Sugars, and processed foods that rapidly get converted to glucose mess with your Tryglycerides, Glucose and Insulin. Most people need to get advanced Lipid Tests that break down the Cholesterol into HDL-C, LDL-P & LDL-C Small particle and do the research what the numbers really mean. 90+% of aleopathic "physicians" only know what they are taught in the big pharma sponsored med schools. Once I got an advanced Lipid Test I was able to pinpoint what I needed to do lifestyle wise. The Doctors only wanted to put me on things like statatins that literally killed my Father without any solutions. I had to research myself and when I had throughy done so I proptly fired him.
Sure, but you're moving into a different type of video. Sugars and insulin, various enzymes (etc). Yes, the body works as a whole. Lots of overlapping biochemical balance being sought out by various body connections. My videos discuss very particular, albeit more narrow, topics to ensure that the information can but more easily understood.
It is really cool that you haven't lost your youthful enthusiasm!
Thanks so much. It's a bit of a challenge condensing complex information into a short video. Do have a productive week!
