Blackadder Goes Forth - Captain Cook (S04E01)
🧅🧅🧅🐸🧅🧅🧅
i knew i was watching the best show ever, after this scene
My favorite scene of Arrested Development
The saddest part is that Baldrick’s cooking isn’t actually that far off what soldiers ate in the trenches when their rations ran out.
too bad lucrezia borgia didn't know what anthrax even is. i suppose blackadder meant arsenic, that's how she usually poisoned her victims
It's better than rat tar tar!!!😉
“Ah, the agony of choice…” 😂😂😂
"you marinade it in a puddle" "for how long ?" "til it is drowned"

Baldrick's face is hilarious on its own
Sorry, I can't forgive your red velvet activity; even if it gives you protective relief.
He then returned the seal from whence it came in season 2. Classic Gob
If you were to serve up one of your meals in staff HQ, you’d be arrested for the greatest mass poisoning since Lucrezia Borgia invited 500 of her closest friends around for a wine and anthrax party
This was the first scene of the show that made me heave with laughter, I was in tears
TALLY HO, BARF BARF
Ditto
Lmao 🤣, I'm surprised to recognise the reference to Lucretia Borgia ,wonder where they came up with it
Because in Europe it was synonym for a poisoner. I don't know if it still is though.
"Amoeba on Saturn that could boil a better egg than you"
Reminds me of a WW2 event we learned in school. A group of near-starving soldiers had been cut off from supplies and could go neither forward nor back. After nearly 5 days barely living off what they could forage they considered surrendering if only because they knew they'd get fed in POW camp. One private piped up with "We could always beat them, if we lose at least we won't have to worry about starving to death". After a few chuckles they decided they might as well go for it. After losing only 2 men (I think there were about 10) they ended up killing an platoon of about 25 soldiers and resulted in breaking a communications line for 2 regiments.
Never underestimate those with nothing left to lose. They'll take actions those who are trying to get through it alive would never consider.
The ogony of choice. I always thought that line was funny as a kid
Looking forward to going over the top, tomorrow, colonel to baldwick, no sir lm frightened, don't worry we be right behind you Black adder, yes about 30 miles behind 😅😅😅
Basically Thomas Astruc when he has to deal with criticism.
"The agony of choice" -Blackadder
*A wine and anthrax party*
I'm from Tennessee and I've been watching this series for quite a few years, this tops all other comedies I've ever seen. The actors are all first class
Just started watching tonight, loved Mr. Bean all my life but somehow never heard of this and I love it.
It doesn’t get better than this👍🏻
It’s one of the all time greats. Also, try Red Dwarf but start from the beginning and go to series 6. These are the two best written, funniest, most satirical, clever comedies ever made in UK.

British cooking in a nut shell
How has blackadder not been dead of food poisoning 20 times over?
Baldrick's cooking may not be up to much but his coffee-substitute is a work of genius!
Ah cappuccino.. Baldrick!
Oh yeah. That mouth watering earthy brew will get to your Head... & Shoulders.
@@Xerxes2005 2 dandruff and a splash of saliva for me Baldrick.

I think the name is spelt Job?? -just like how you pronounced it...
No it’s spelled GOB, it stands for George Oscar bluth I believe

@@kylemarchbanks2748 Thank U for that- U are so right! 👍👍
I want to know more about The Winchester flower arranging team beating Harrow by 12 sore bottoms to 1 lol. Did they all get in an argument about tulips and start spanking each other??? Lol

2021 here
Amazing how on the last moments of the last episode Baldrick actually did have a plan that would work and could save them all (splinters in the ladder - worked as a common excuse back then, to be sent to hospital with a hand or foot infection)
Well, we never did hear WHAT his plan was, for all we knew he could have been planing to carry the ladder across no mans land and swap it for one of the Germans.
@@oscarwind4266 nah. He mentioned the splinter. And it was all done specifically at that last moment... it would have saved them.
@@Mr.BednaR No, it would't. Too late. Infection takes a while to set it. They needed to do it days before, not just before they went over the top.
2020 in a nutshell
Blackadder: Call me unadventurous, Baldrick, but I'm afraid I'll give this meal a miss. Baldrick: 'Sall right, sir. More for the rest us, isn't that right, Lieutenant? George: Certainly is, Baldrick! Tally-ho, BARF BARF!
And then the phone rings and Blackadder answers: “The Savoy Grill…”
“Rat au Vin?” “Yeah, it’s rat that’s been run over by a van.”
Where did they get the van?
@@wisemankugelmemicus1701 They were planning to get it from an art museum - Baldrick heard someone say "look at that van Gogh", and assumed it was going
@@toddkes5890 That's a fair point
Good one
I thought it was 'rat-o-van'
I’m glad I understood the Lucrezia Borgia joke
It is simply superb that one
His criticism of food is like if Gordon Ramsey was on censored mode.
Gordon Ramsey ain't got shit on Boldrick..)/*

Ah but I hear his coffee (in particular his Cappuccino) is excellent!
Which is in fact... mud.
Ahh yes, a cup of mud with dandruff (sugar substitute) and saliva (milk substitute). Enjoy...

Brilliant I wonder what the Americans think off this comedy.
That its hilarious. Funny is funny no matter what side of the ocean you are on. Though I'm sure more then a few will be wondering why Mr Bean is not being silly and wacky.
@@JounLord1 Yes your correct I wasn't sure that it was available to the America as Mr Bean was very well thought off.
Love it!!!
