Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited

Trout Unlimited is a non-profit, conservation organization whose mission is to conserve, protect, and restore North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds for the benefit of future generations.
The Guadalupe River, located in Central Texas near New Braunfels between Austin and San Antonio is the southernmost freshwater trout fishery in the United States. With over 5,000 members throughout Texas, the Guadalupe River Chapter is the largest local chapter of TU.

I'm brand new to fly fishing. This is one of the first flies I purchased and I love it. I have caught Bluegills, Guads, and Smallmouth on it. Next step, start tying my own.

Thanks, Matt! Fish it on the bottom with some mini strips, just enough to throw a little dust?
That works well if you can see the eat. If not, very slow strips and constant tension reduces missed strikes. Because I use this technique when casting at silt plumes I suspect are carp produced, I call it "dragging muds".

What would a good substitute for the B10S hook be?
About any hook but I’d stick with the straight eye and comparable shank length (close in length but not critical).
