I'm moving 150,000 files, who has the time to stop go through all of that when 5 folders pop up and a bunch of files pop up, which do not give you the location, just the name, so you have to search each file every time to find the location, ...AND before you know it you have a week in trying to copy 1 folder over. I already clicked Administrative Ownership over the whole drive now I have to do individual files too?? This is stupidity at it's highest! I have to be Administrator of the administrator of the administrator to get anything done! I get tired of fighting Windows at every step, With Windows 3.1 on up.

THANK YOU!!! I will never understand why I have to leap through all these hoops to use my own computer. It would make sense if I were working in a corporate environment or I was networked with a team. But I'm doing all of this so I can use a computer that I own, and only I use and only I have access to. There's got to be a better way, like allowing me to set up a new computer for the first time as a home user or a corporate user. If I'm a home user, I'm automatically the admin, I have access to everything. If I'm a corporate user, permissions must be set by admin. How hard could that be? I wasted TWO DAYS resolving this needlessly complicated problem, and TIME IS MONEY.

Try to open PowerShell as Administrator cd "YOUR_FOLDER_ROOT_PATH" rmdir .\YOUR_FOLDERNAME\ A rmdir .\YOUR_FILE_NAME

So since these streetshitters doesn't help, here's the fix: 1. Create a .bat file 2. SET DIRECTORY_NAME="G:\FolderPathHere\FolderName" TAKEOWN /f %DIRECTORY_NAME% /r /d y ICACLS %DIRECTORY_NAME% /grant administrators:F /t ICACLS %DIRECTORY_NAME% /reset /T PAUSE 3. Change the G:\FolderPath to your actual drive letter and folder name. 4. Run the batfile. You're welcome.
