I want to be one of those hyper sensitive Karens who whines about you not spelling Bavaro correctly. I need the feeling of superiority that people get when they nag about something like spelling.
Loved Bavaro; who can ever forget the following year on that monday night game at San Fran, when he carried Ronnie Lott and half the Niners defense on his back, for an extra ten yards or so
Mark Bavaro was a quiet "stud". He didn't mouth his game, he just did his job with class, full out effort, and pride. He was one of my All Time GIANTS. AND IT'S BAVARO, not Bavero!
He was beaten up with injuries and George Young, the Giants GM, was uncanny at being able to know when to trade or release a player who was not going to produce for them like they did in their prime.
@@tomstreet2859 well I stand corrected, haven't watched rocky in yrs. 80s rock was what country music is now very generic with slogans, though rocky 4 had one of the better ones
When I heard this theme back in the day with images of the Giants playing, as a 12-year old I wanted to jump through the TV and start tackling myself. Just got you so unbelievably pumped up. The Pots and Pans theme music for CBS, while not as cool as the previous theme, had a Pavlovian effect on me as a young football fan. Totally pumped me up for the game!
I remember watching this, as a freshman in high school. It was a big. The Broncos had already beaten the Browns in an overtime thriller. If I remember correctly, the Giants started the whole gatorade dump on the head coach. It went on all season, after each win.
With the fierce winds I'm surprised the stadium and the nearby vicinity did not experience a power outage! Another observation is that I assumed two cold weather teams could handle the elements! Guess I was wrong!
This is Pat Summerall "The Great Narrator" of his time. A voice like no other. No one could do it like Pat at CBS. He was the one who did it better than anyone else at the time. Rest in peace Pat no one will ever do it better than you!
This was when watching football was fun and exciting. It was about being a fan. No, cellphones, facebook, or fantasy leagues. Just food, beer and football. Sucks to be a fan nowadays!
The Giants won their first two playoff games by a score of 66-3. And they didn't beat scrubs. The 49ers and Redskins would go on to win the next three Super Bowls. The Giants have played two NFC championship games at home, and they have yet to allow a single point.

Man he sucked in ‘99
This was the first Giants home playoff game in 23 years. Great memories.
Glory days for sure
I was there
Roger = GOAT
It's Bavaro. This man's name should never be misspelled. BAVARO!

Phil Simms- "Here we go."
Best Stadium ever How dare they tear that place down and build met life. UGH
When football was football.
Bavero? WTF?
Parcells loved TE who could block for the run , block in pass protection , and could catch !!
Bavaro
I miss Madden as a play-by-play guy
1979: Simms drafted 2 rounds earlier than Joe Montana.
It worked out great. Fragile Montana wouldn’t have survived the NFC East in those days.....

Bavaro was a student of Teddy Roosevelt. Speak softly and carry a big stick or in his case a big game
He crushed ppl. Bavaro would be the TE on my team.
Greatest TE EVER, from a Saints fan
Never understood why the Giants let him go to Philadelphia?
He was beaten up with injuries and George Young, the Giants GM, was uncanny at being able to know when to trade or release a player who was not going to produce for them like they did in their prime.
God I wish I could have those days back!!!
Amen. Thank God for RUclips
When players just played and didn't preach
CBS is the best
Bavero is evil Bavaro
Hehehe
wasn't pat summerall a kicker on that giants 1963 team?
He retired after 1961
Back when I cared! Rather watch the past than that crap they're pulling today!

The greatest duo for pro Football is the great Pat Summerall and John Madden and guess what the conversation ends right there.
Amen to that.
I would say it would have to be them or Olsen and Enberg
what just happened awhile ago in #sb50 is like this
I think that it was a legal obligation for every mid-80s football intro to have Rocky IV music. (Not that I'm complaining about it)
love it
It's not rocky music
@@andrewhoyle1521 It absolutely is...that 49ers song is WAR by Vince Dicola from Rocky IV.

Yea cbs back then was awesome. That was pure art. Nbc tried and did well to back then, I was just partial to nfc on cha in c/o 49ers.
Bavaro*

I'm from planet earth...the 9ers from back in da 80's from another planet yeah dat good!
LOL... Bill Belichick at 0:41
CBS had the best intros. Nothing like it and nothing like Pat and John.

The jackets in the black and white footage resemble the baseball Yankee uniforms!

This was the year that Lawrence Taylor won NFL MVP as a Linebacker; the first and only linebacker ever chosen to this day
Every time i watch this it gives me goosebumps. Nfl, nfc on cbs and afc on nbc was great times miss those days
I must say i'm not a giants fan but i respect the organization a lot. This was great to watch
Phil Simms is the best QB the Giants ever had.
No one today. Not Pink, Faith or anyone could do a better NFL intro than John. He will always be the best.
Ever been to the new stadium in nj?
Pat summerall and john Madden best duo ever
