How to glue rubber and vinyl flooring
How come you didn't use a seam sealer?
Q Why are you using F46
I hate vinyl, im looking for paint, sorry
Wow I'm not being funny but there are so many errors in this video!!! Do not install like this! I'm shocked to say the least! Read the instructions on the adhesive label and as for joining wow not like in the video for heavens sake!
This is manufacturer's instructions for how to lay and seam our vinyl and rubber so it is correct
Then The Colour Flooring Company has it wrong. Please correct your installation video as you can not install vinyl and especially rubber in this manner. If you have any credibility and want to do your company any good then take this video down. End of.
Do you need an underlay?
No
That’s amazing. No heat welding.
What’s best to stain cork tiles before applying a finish
Our Corka is already stained and pre-finished
@@thecolourflooringcompany968 cheers for that one I’ve put a Matt varnish down 5 coats has done the trick
Plus it’s not the same tiles mine were 30cm by 30cm cork tiles
What happens if you put the vinyl tile down immediately and not wait for the adhesive to tack up? Will it still dry?
It will go all lumpy and look horrible and will be a disaster. The most important thing is to let the glue go off for long enough
🤦♂️
As a time served floorlayer this is the basics ..I could right a story on what’s wrong with this but I’ll name one thing never hammer a seam to make it fit ..I’m surprised he never used a hammer 😂
Wow. This is a great Technique! Had never heard of it. Thank you !!!
Hey Great Video !!! Thanks !! No heavy Roller of course common sense you vn apply as much pressure with the broom.. Ball the glue makers videos show you should roll the glue with a foam roller but looks like you have no probs not doing and I presume the trowel notches dont show through?
Yes if you let the glue 'go off' properly then you won't see trowel notches
Great video, i hope the boy gets paid extra when we give a review as he really deserves to, a true professional, thank you.
Great video, you can see this boy's a professional, really nice job, now to try and do it myself, help.
As an American his accent assures me I can do this lol
What do you do with the overlap?
When do you put the glue on never showed that thanks
How to glue is here www.colourflooring.co.uk/pages/vinyl-flooring-installation
Great technique to cut the vinyl flooring. Thanks
Why dont you use a underscriber then you can cut the excess of the vinyl off then it will be sweet to weld it
Thank you for the video! The explanation is very clear and full of little details for a perfect result 👏👏
Im laying Granit Safe T 2mm in a walk in level shower area coved on 3 sides. I will be welding the corner 45 deg butterfly seams. The multicoloured welding rod specified is 4mm round. What size U shape seam groove is required, (width and depth) for welding? Is a speed weld nozzle with small narrow air slide appropriate?
Great video!
2 things in your video that I picked up on been a floor layer myself was Tucking thumb whilst using straight edge amount of apprentices thumbs I’ve had to apply first aid too where knife jumps onto straight edge . 2) if I’m flat laying I use a scribing bar to get the cut to the walls lovely and neat ..you do that be before gluing And we weld our joints in the flooring But apart from them couple of things your very talented
Hi, my Antelope / Nordic Dove vinyl was installed with the colour flooring company adhesive but there are small bubbles/ it's not completely smooth. I don't know if the glue was dry before laying it down and I don't know if a broom was used rather than a roller. Is there anything we can do now to fix it?
Perfect excellent five stars.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍good job.
Proper skills 👌🏻
This is a fantastic informative video. You presented the information extremely well and to the point. You are a true professional. Thank you for posting this.
Can vinyl flooring be laid on vinyl tiles or does it need to have self levelling, the tiles have been covered with carpet from day one?
Thanks Man. Great video. Answered all my questions and showed me how to do it right. Without any b.s or over explaining things to death. Thanks again
Nooice!
I’ve just tried laying some black rubber flooring in the garage where I work on cars. I used a product called Mapei Ultrabond VS90 Plus. It’s completely failed. It’s been down a week and I can still move the rubber with my foot. Where am I going wrong?
The video is from 5 years ago :-) Did you lay the rubber flooring directly onto concrete? If so, did you put down a vapour barrier first? Here's the data link - www.polymax.co.uk/media/documents/Datasheet/UltrabondEcoVS90Plus.pdf
Rubber is only installed competently by a handful of fitters nationally because its notoriously difficult.
A dentist a minis a oral
This guy is an absolute diamond. Nicely and so carefully explained. He's a real technician and an asset to the company. Thank you
I have a vinyl plank floor over hardwood that has failed. I am going to replace it with vinyl sheet flooring, but don't know if I should put in luan underlayment or if the hardwood will be smooth enough. I hate covering hardwood, but it is a kitchen and the oak is black, so sanding, staining and finishing will be difficult to do, plus since it is in a heavy traffic and potentially wet area keeping the finish might be difficult as well.
You make it look so easy. Thank you
That’s not the best way mate! Try a recess scrubber will change your game big time
And where do I find a professional floor fitter like this?
While using a straight edge, don't ever position your holding hand below your knife hand ffs lol, this is basic stuff, 1 slip and by bye finger
You need a roller. 75 lb at least. 100lb ideal.
You don’t with this type of vinyl
Fuck man if your getting clean glue lines with your pace my hats off to you. I had one guy try to tell me only to glue is straight horizontal paths incase the glue lines showed through. I told him if he ever had that problem he needs to step his trowel notch down a size.
Thank you!!!!
Great video mate! Very informative. Provided me all the information I required for my homes linoleum flooring repair/renovation. Thank you!!!
How can I replace a part of the vinyl that has been ripped off ? What is the best way
Hi, can you please tell me what adhesive are you using also is that was going directly on concrete?
Cant u use a roller for the glue?
With his skill level he already knew what it was going to look like before he finished. good job!
thank you
Hi Daniel. Do you have contact details if I wanted you to lay some flooring in a property? Many thanks
Thank you so much for uploading your perfect experience
Not everyone is gonna have a thumb either! 😂 Great work boss. Nice knife and straight edge too!
