I wish there was a collaborative effort to create a real, legitimate museum of the history of cosmetics. It could be contributed to by the likes of you, Lisa Eldridge, Erin Parsons, Hillary Belzer, etc. (and surely many companies have private vaults?)...for most people, the history of makeup and nail polish probably seem unimportant, and being a private collector of consumables is considered hoard-y. But I find it endlessly fascinating and hate that so much, even what's relatively recent, has been lost to time. The Met has a Costume Institute...why not a Cosmetics Institute?

We didn't have Urban Decay either back then here in Italy, but I remember having pretty much all these colours!

The glitter looks asymetrical, can't say I've seen a green glitter like this, where I shop its generally multi toned glitter/flakes. Rogue laquer has ONE shade green flakie polish but its not similar this to shade. The color IS similar to 'Riddle me this' by ILNP, but that polish is multiple colors, a green/purple.

Drip the solvent into the edge of the bottle

I recall using a porcelain glaze back in the 80s which was both red and green. Green where it was thin, red where it was thicker. I think it had something to do with iron oxide and that the glaze is possibly not made anymore for whatever reason. Maybe this polish is similar.

Blue is one of my go to colors and i usually get tons of compliments when i wear it , men too! But if a man expressed hating something …you betchya i would start doing it even more 😂

Wearing gorgeous nail polish from 1947 is awesome on so many levels. I'm obsessed with history of any kind and this is actually physically living a piece of history. I can't get over how shiny it was.

I don’t get why anyone would want that nail shape unless you opened letters for a living.

In the 90s, but also in the 2000s, dark blue nail polish was considered "brave" and outrageous. I had no idea that also light blue and turquoise nail polish was considered like that in the somewhere in the past! I remember though, 20 years ago, that men had this sort of adversity for grey nail polish, therefore everybody wore it😂
