Paul 100% intentionally went at him in the slide. The next time at bat, hit him.

Ernie McAnally...Joe Lis....those were the days...bring back pitchers having to bat - in the NL; AL was fine with DH - perfectly fine to have two leagues with different styles

He didn’t “run to the inside”. He went inside at the last second to intentionally take him. And he slid late. Dirty

  • @scottjackson638

There is no doubt that contact on the slide was intentional. When you deny the obvious you lose credibility.

The announcers were Turing themselves inside out trying to explain that slide away. It was dirty. They knew it, the crowd knew it, and so did Molitor.

I met Rob Deer at a baseball card convention in 1989 in Milwaukee. He signed my baseball cards and he was one of the biggest dudes in MLB. He was a horrible hitter but he SMASHED the ball when he made contact! Someone was always in the bleacher stands at Milwaukee County Stadium holding a big sign that said "DEER TARGET". Career .220 BA and led MLB in strikeout 4 different years. He did have 33 HR's his first year in Milwaukee though.
