Fly Fishing a Loch in the Mountains - Wild Brown Trout on Dries
We made the climb back up to this stunning loch, I’d been fishing a few other lochs about 30 miles further North for a couple of days before this. The weather had been awful and the fishing had been really tough and I hoped the change of location would improve our chance of better weather and fishing.
We managed to catch two beautiful wild trout in a stunning setting, so it was well worth the effort to get there.

I had a great day exploring and fishing a new area for me, just north of Arbroath. Final took my boat out on a proper fishing trip. We had been out a few times in the Firth of Forth, launching at Port Edgar as the boat ramp there is so wide and easy to use as a beginner. Back down to Eyemouth and although I didn’t catch either of my target species, I still had great fun catching lots of fish. Something a bit different, took the opportunity to record a family of ducks that came by while bait fishing at Clubbiedean Trout Fishery. 3 Fish landed on the day in total but I was too busy recording the ducks and missed half the fishing action. The First Day of a Two Day Camping trip, I’m fishing for Wrasse and Pollock. I expected to catch a few mackerel too but it must of still been a bit early in the year for mackerel up there. We still had an action packed day with plenty of wrasse and pollock, some of the pollock were a good size too.
