Flash Haka @ Sylvia Park, 4.Sept.11
I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time. We were on our way home when something odd was happening. This group was doing a Flash Mob - like Haka at Sylvia Park.

On average there is a haka performed every 37 seconds in New Zealand. A haka used to be something special but nowdays they find any old reason to do one. Cuzzy Steven has arrived at the airport....let´s do a haka. They opened up a new library at school.....let´s do a haka. Auntie Moana just made her best banana cake ever.....let´s do a haka.
I have a little bit of Maori blood in me but mostly Samoan and European blood, but this video makes me so grateful that I even have any Maori in me, Kia Kaha!
чтить и уважать традиции своего народа великая Честь и Обязанновсть.
Mandela Effect... I could almost swear the first time I saw this vid dude had a jordan jersey and not rose.
I heard one person respond to the call, from a second-floor of that Terrace, and he ran all the way down to get to the haka. I love this culture!
This is VERY beautiful to see
Haka sends (wonderful) chills up my spine every time I hear and watch. What a powerful form of expression!
10 YEARS! It's 4 September, 2021.
2021.. August 30.. still the best ever.. 😂😂😂.. love from Auckland
Respect for the guy who ended his phone call to jump in the haka 📈📈📈
Beautiful haka
love my culture so much❤️
I love how they just casually walk away after it's over as if nothing happened
Es impresionante como se suman instintivamente, eso sí es tener tus raíces presente <3
Just another day at the mall lol
😎Thomas Byrd
start a warcry summoning all yours ancestrals fury and rage being prepared to a war 1 seg later: walk away like nothing happend
New Zealand is the only place I could think of where's there a real "cultural exchange".
Now, this is the greatest thing I have just seen this in the history of YT. 😊😍

that was awesome as I wish I was there to see it :-)
I'm from NZ Auckland
When you watch and see most the shops have changed like there is an h&m now
My god, just watching gets you pumped up.
I love this, and also wonder what traditional warriors would think upon seeing this. I can't help but thrust my hands in the air and cheer at the end, even though I am neither a native nor a soccer fan. It's so visceral I love it. I hope that's not bad.
imagine living in primitive time. if you weren't crazy, your dead. hhaaha

Well there enemies happened to be other Māori…their enemy most likely went “fuck yeh let’s do this” did their own haka then they proceeded to kill eachother

i agree i am a white kid from Massachusetts usa and i know two, soon to be three hakas. i did the research and i preform them with respect. as i preform a haka, i keep in my mind that i do not in any way own it. i love the ferocity and intensity of the hakas and the maori as a whole i respect all and thank all for what they have given the world.

Native Americans varied nation to nation. Some were just farmers, other warriors, and those in the Midwest were nomads but then again different nations everywhere. Now I don't know much about the Maori but it seems they are the dominant if not the only natives to be on New Zealand so I guess division among them was more tribe to tribe. Also, early Americans waged war with those who joined the Brits and when the Brits lost... well not many people treat their enemies allies well after the fact.
Mean maori mean!
Makz ZERO The word Maori means the indigenous people of New Zealand.
Sylvia Park Shopping Centre, Mt Wellington, Auckland NZ
Where is this??
I think he meant Maori, not just New Zealanders in general.
Then you are by far a minority and the first I have met who doesn't at least know Ka Mate from watching rugby at least
