Absolutley right! 61 year old native and Polk County resident, the problems with Polk County are all over the State. However for me at least Polk County is my happy place when compared to cities like Tampa and Orlando. Thanks for the comment.

My aunt is still waiting to get back in her house after flooding. Water was over her counter tops! And she does not live on the water! If your considering a move to Florida think again! My city of crystal river the traffic is horrible and they keep destroying our way of life. Drinking water in Florida in the future will be a tough problem . If we keep paving over cypress swamps, which is a natural filter for rain and run off water, the flooding will only get worse, and developers could care less! Florida is in a crisis, and no one is sounding the alarm!

@michaelparker2225 I'm so sorry for your aunt. I've been to Crystal River a number of times heading north to Cyder Key. You're right about needing to temper growth with being good stewards of our natural resources. I'm not sure if I agree with Florida being in crisis though, I just think we have a lot of work ahead of us.

I did find a Miralles in Zephyrhills that is selling for $385,000. There are other models that might be more in your price range. Are you currnetly in the area or out of State/County?

As far as I can see Auburndale would be the closest community that hase the 3000. I'll check with the re tomorrow and get back to you.

This what I received from my rep: "In Lakeland comparable to 3000 we have #1 - 2508 (2500 sq ft - 4/3/3 - $464,592) #2 - 2200 (2200 sq ft - 4/3/3 - $446,863) We have a community 15 min outside of Lakeland with 3 - 3000 available ( 4/3/2 - $427,403)"

I wouldn't be so sure about that I've seen price drops in every part of the real estate market from retail to brand new homes and right now the builders are giving huge discounts. We're seeing price drops on brand new homes sometimes $30,000 to $40,000. It's the best market to be in right now as far as buying is concerned because new home construction prices have gone so far down and the builders are competing with each other for buyers and that's driving prices down.

My opinion is the area around LegoLand in the 33884 zip code. We have so many new communities going in and the area is safe, I know because I moved her 5 years ago.

I have been through countless hurricanes and one of the most frustrating things is that most of the predictions focus on the West Coast of Florida. Here in central Florida unless you're in a major flood zone or an area that's prone yo flooding you're okay. That's not to say that with enough rain you won't see flooding, it just won't be to extent that folks on the coast would see. The two biggest concerns for Polk County are power outages and falling trees. Where I live in Winter Haven the winds from Hurricane Milton are projected to top out at 40-50 mph. I can live with that. I hope that helps.

@willr2808 Miami traffic is terrible, but so is Orlando. The bigger the city, the more problems with traffic.

You are all correct! Everything is relative to a degree. I also believe that ‘traffic’ is inversely proportional to age-the older you get, the worse traffic is EVERYWHERE!

@@vincereina4595 I’ve driven both. Monday through Friday, Orlando is nowhere near as bad as Miami. I-4 has much better flow in comparison to Miami.

@@solg1391 Haines City is pretty small and quiet. Like most cities there are places to stay away from but you'll see them a mile away and know where they are. We have an excellent sheriff and sheriff's department. If you have a specific concern or want to get crime data call the non-emergency number to the sheriff's dept and ask. @@yourmoveflorida We’ve just got back from a wonderful 2 week holiday on Southern Dunes, Haines City. Felt very safe although we didn’t do much walking around the immediate area, but did drive to the lakes and surrounding areas and felt completely safe.

I think it's a great place for families. Especially the area around Legoland.

I agree, home prices are insane but they are leveling off some from 2020. There just aren't enough homes coming on the market or being built to bring the prices down.

Full? Lived next door to a small empty lot for 25 years - It now has a home 7 feet from me!!! - There went the charm of this established 50's neighborhood. Wish city/county planners would consider how tightly they want people to live. Are we sardines?
