Where BIG CATS Roam Free
One of the last remaining real adventures on our planet is, without a doubt, hiking in a rare big cat territory. Although the chance of observing them during their daily routine is very slim, the fact that you are walking on the same ground and following the same tracks as an Amur Tiger, Amur Leopard, Snow Leopard, or Jaguar is undoubtedly fascinating.

Centuries old sailing tradition combined with space technology and design. Simply superb!
Similarities with Formula 1 are clearly visible, wouldn’t you agree? Thank you for watching and commenting!
Wow, the Amur Tiger is such a majestic predator! The Lion King would appear like a kitten if they could face each other. Superb video, enjoyed watching every minute of it.👍
I'm so glad you liked it. Can you imagine that there are currently less than 700 Amur Tigers on our planet - both in the wilderness and in captivity? We simply can't allow any more species to become extinct.
De gros dégueulasses qui ne portent pas assistance , tout cela pour leur gloire personnelle .😮
It looks like and can be an island in the South Pacific. However, my best guess is that your beautiful short video was shot somewhere in Southeast Asia!
@@ConanTaggert Well, your guess is perfectly right on the spot. It’s Raja Ampat, often referred to as the Last Paradise. This beautiful area is part of Indonesia. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Comment translated from Russian: " Very cool! It’s breathtaking... in places it’s wildly vertical, the main thing is that the leg doesn’t move and has constant control. It’s good that the route is transmitted over the radio, otherwise you could cause an avalanche. The main thing is not to overestimate your capabilities, a mountain of mistakes does not forgive. Congratulations - such a descent is on the edge of the possible! The danger is that you cannot secure yourself with the belay and can even be blown off the slope by the wind. Don’t repeat this again... although... if you’ve already grabbed adrenaline and survived, sooner or later you’ll want to look for a new slope and route!.. I understand everything - I’m like that myself!" My reply: Из вашего комментария я понимаю, что вы еще и очень опытный и квалифицированный горнолыжник. It looks like the training methods for wingsuit flying are highly developed and your video clearly manages to visualize it. I wonder if I should give it a try? 🤔
According to statistics, 1 out of 500 wingsuit flights ends with an accident. Still, by putting safety first, training extensively and maintaining equipment regularly, everything from the jump to the landing should run smoothly. Besides, most accidents happen to highly experienced wingsuit pilots because they tend to continuously expand their boundaries and push the limits. Thank you for watching and commenting!

The Snow Leopard is more rare. This is a fact.
@@JonHop1 According to various sources, in the Himalayan mountain range there are between 4000 and 6200 Snow Leopards (also extremely beautiful animals) living in the wild. Due to the vastness and inaccessibility of the area an exact number can‘t be determined. On the other hand, the Amur river basin is mostly flat and rangers have a pretty good idea that the number of Amur Leopards started to rise again. There are now around (ONLY)120 of these animals - in comparison with less than 50 in 2015. I appreciate your comment!
@@nuovonovathegreatoutdoors "Amur" Leopards are just Leopards that inhabit a certain area... Snow Leopards are their own species... Snow Leopards are not even Leopards, they are more closely related to Tigers. Saying "Amur Leopards"(which are just a subspecies of Leopard is more rare is incorrect. You can put any normal Leopard species in their habitat, and they would gain the same slight variances in their coats and size within a few generations.
@@nuovonovathegreatoutdoors Also, if you want to go subspecies route, the Iriomote Cat is the rarest leopard species in the world, more rare than the Amur Leopard. Of last study, there is thought to be only 89 left in the wild.
@@JonHop1 Thank you for this insight. I wasn't aware of the fact that the Iriomote Cat is considered to be a member of the Leopard family.
@@JonHop1 Well, that applies to any animal. Let's imagine inhabiting the Yangtze river with Hippos, then sooner or later they will evolve into a sub-species. Wouldn't you agree?
Chinese will eat EVERYTHING and ANYTHING... they will transform this planet into a desolate gloomy desert.
There is certainly some truth in your statement but you can't simply generalise such a behaviour to more than 1.5 billion people. Chinese forest rangers in the Amur-Heilong region contribute strongly to saving the tigers. On the other hand, regarding their notorious fishing fleet, which catches every marine animal, for example in the Galapagos Marine Conservation Area, I agree with you!
@@nuovonovathegreatoutdoors I agree. It is the outdated mystical beliefs that puts a bad name to them. It is beyond belief that people inhabiting such a productive fertile land that could easily feed half the earth population, will resort to such gross disgusting practices.
Yes, Amur Tigers are truly majestic animals, but the Amur Leopards are not only magnificent but also extremely beautiful cats. Poachers, as well buyers of such products need to face harsh penalties!
@@onentogar9599 I fully agree. Unfortunately, there are still some potent buyers of rare animals, either for their private zoo, or to consume body parts as medicine, fur coats, or leather bags, etc. WWF is doing a vital job there, including the education of the local population. Thank you for your comment!

The video is incorrect at 5:16 regarding who named K2 the "Savage Mountain." It was an American climber named George Bell, in the early 1950's, who said "It's a savage mountain that tries to kill you."
You are right about that particular statement. As a matter of fact, I created an enhanced version of this video as a two-part series with additional HD-quality footage, an improved soundtrack, and narration. Please refer there to 5:01 to find the correction of this mistake. ruclips.net/video/30QUV0zxEio/видео.htmlsi=c7XItidgkOXoASLS I appreciate your comment, however, I fail to understand how you could label the whole video as "incorrect", just because of a single statement. Thank you for watching!
@@nuovonovathegreatoutdoors Where did I say that the "whole video" was incorrect? If you look more closely, my first sentence says: "The video is incorrect at 5:16 regarding..." The words AT and REGARDING are specifiers that point to the SINGLE INCIDENT where I heard an error.
@@crocodile1313 That‘s true, of course. I don‘t know why as I read your comment I had the impression that your first sentence was only „The video is incorrect.“ I apologize for the misunderstanding and thank you for underlining this fact.
From the top, how was the bottleneck skied/avoided?
@@choubala That‘s a good question, and the answer is simple. He didn‘t descent along the Abruzzi Spur route and the Bottleneck was not on his way. However, the Messner Traverse is much more dangerous and he managed to survive that narrow passage on the way down. Please watch the full video to see this historic descent in detail. Thank you for your comment! ruclips.net/video/rqrna93x9DQ/видео.htmlsi=d13ypJy2Zute9tKo
@@nuovonovathegreatoutdoors Saw this picture which suggests from summit to camp 4 was Abruzzi Spur
@@choubala You are right, the blue line on the map shows that section of the descent as the Abruzzi Spur. I researched a bit and found this remark in a website (link is below): " If skiing down a narrow, 50-degree couloir named the “bottleneck” isn’t scary enough, doing so at more than 8,000 meters isn’t supposed to be possible. That’s difficult ski terrain closer to sea level, but Bargiel had to flawlessly descend while his muscles burned for oxygen that simply wasn’t available at such heights. " www.maxim.com/sports/how-andrzej-bargiel-skiied-k2-2019-1/. I hope this adds some clarity. Thank you again for your comment!
@@nuovonovathegreatoutdoors Thank you for the link! The whole thing is just mind blowing
That Messner guy, really makes me laugh. He talks as if he went up all of these mountains, with no Sherpas scouting the way and tying the ropes, and no porters carrying all of their stuff. As if it's some personal achievement that his lungs didn't fill with fluid, instead of dumb luck, or that if he had suffered pulmonary edema, that he simply would have just kept climbing. What an egotistical jerk. And when he tells them to not bother sending a rescue, is he speaking for the Sherpas and porters as well??? What a DIRTBAG.
Simply amazing! I could put myself in the shoes of the mountaineers, who had to watch six people just vanish in front of them while they were waiting in line on Hillary Step. Very well researched and narrated!
@@ConanTaggert Thank you for your encouraging comment. Yes, the situation on Hillary Step has lately become unbearable. A crowd attached to one fixed rope in both directions wait way too long in the death zone. Only possible to survive with supplementary oxygen and total control of temper.

Are you referring to the ski-descent of Lhotse, or paraglider-descent from K2? Actually, quite frequently people also die while trying to push the boundaries of human capabilities. Thank you for watching and leaving this interesting comment!
I had no clue about the paragliding activities around K2, a very interesting development. Thank you for informing us about that! I also liked the view of K2 from Tibet. It seems to be a quite rare footage. Overall, a great video series full with need-to-know insights. 👍
Reaching K2 from the Tibetan plateau is slightly easier than trekking to the K2 base camp, since camels are used as a means of transportation. Still, probably due to difficulties to obtain a visa and climbing permit - the majority of summt attempts are made from the Nepalese south face. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Why climb, risk too much for something that's been done.
@@peterpeter-ft7df That‘s a legitimate question. However, there is a huge difference between an accomplishment one can achieve and just watching others do it. The risk taken should be, of course, calculated and manageable. Thank you for your comment!

I still remember the sad view of a completely bleached reef around Whitsunday islands. If reefs die then the oceans are endangered. And if the oceans die, then all life forms would be at the brink of extinction. Therefore, I support the process of coral aquaculture. Nice video, by the way!
@@onentogar9599 I share your concern and your conclusion is right on the spot. We MUST keep the complete eco-system of coral reefs alive. Thank you for your comment 🤝
Coral farming surely helps a lot preserve the reefs because extracting corals from their natural environment for commercial reasons (aquarium trade) is no longer necessary. I like your short video!
Very true! Corals taken out from the reefs in Southeast Asia and the Caribbean reached substantial numbers in the early 2000's and thanks to coral farming those numbers now fell to almost zero. The same applies to reef fish. It all started with clown fish but now more and more different species are raised in special farms and don't need to be taken from the oceans.
