You swapped the passenger and driver side spring with each other?
Can you tell me the description for the u-bolts
Sure the U-bolts are 10" x 5/8" x 3 1/4"
I like the street scene mirrors but would prefer more visibility. What year is this? I love the front clip and would love to put one on my 2008 if it is possible. Going to do the lowering as soon as I can afford it. Great looking truck.
@@stevelaw2000 I agree, the visibility was bugging me a bit, its nice to have a decent view of whats going on behind you. The truck is a 2004 model but the grille and bumper is from a 2008 sport model and fit without any issues. Thanks for the kind words and good luck with the lowering, im sure it will turn out great 👍
@@paule01 thank you for that information.
In minute 6:21 looks so easy to remove C-clips, My question is what prevents them from coming out while it is running?
@@javieraranda2952 The c-clips are unable to be removed while the centre pin is installed. The centre pin doesnt allow the axles to have any slack in them to gain access to the clips. You can kind of see when I remove the pin the axles shaft can be moved towards the centre of the diff. Hope that makes sense
@@paule01 Thanks Paul, for taking your time.
@@paule01 Sorry, last question, I promess. What is the torque for the bolt in the center pin?
@@javieraranda2952 no problem, I believe the manual says 15-30 ft-lbs. I did 20 and used some loc-tite as well for extra safety
What did the mirrors come off of again
Theyre aftermarket Street Scene mirrors but I bought them used from another Ranger owner
How much did this lower the truck?
Approx 5inches
your ranger looks awesome!!😍
Paul if you want to remodel your kitchen, closet or another bathroom, let me know I'll help you with the design🤜💪
I didnt know you do design work! I have to remodel my basement next and will definitely need help with designs 🙏🙏🙏
This is a great looking truck!!
@@brad5316 ty 👍
Looks like a car mirror on a truck. I prefer the oem mirror
@@faithnomore616 I can definitely see what you mean, Im still not 100% if Il keep them mounted or not
Where in the world did you get that front grille???? I love it. I hate my 07 grille
@@DavidRamirez-kv9xc its a grille from a STX model, you can usually find them around used
Looks way better. Now maybe some of Rick’s flush metal door handles painted to match👍🏽
@@ramonhernandez4471 I think you're definitely right! 👍
What’s the link for these mirrors? I’ve been looking for these mirrors for a while
@@VictorLopez-kg7vs pretty sure you can still buy them on Streetscenes website
Summit has some similar ones the pair goes for $118.72 its listed as "IPCW Sportage LED Mirrors CMRL-93RNG" or just look up (YOUR YEAR) Ford Ranger Street Scene Mirrors
you said a sway bar was no needed, is it it because of the way the shocks are mounted?
We have gone full circle lol. When I was a kid it was all about Frenching, shaving I'm just generally cleaning up the vehicle to give it a more smooth look. Arguably the Ford Ranger did a pretty good job right out of the factory minus some emblems. I think it's pretty cool and pretty clever but you are putting in a little heritage style back into the truck.
@@AtomicReverend They do say things always come back full circle lol. But I agree definitely traditional mini trucking was always about frenching/shaving everything. To my defense, I did flip the handle on the back side :). When I paint the cab I plan on shaving the 3rd brake light as well as I have something special planned for the fender badges. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@paule01 i really do like it, it's pretty hard to do something original to a Ford Ranger, Chevrolet S10, Ford Mustang, a Ford Model A, a 1932 Ford and a VW bug as everybody has already done just about everything to them. I love hand fabricated owner built rides and from what I have seen yours is top-notch for a home garage build. I can only hope my 95 ranger comes out half as nice.
@@AtomicReverend Thanks for the kind words and im sure your 95 will turn out great. Always loved those 95 Splash models
@@paule01 it's funny I was thinking about buying a stepside bed... I got a pretty good lead on a 1998 stepside bed for 250 bucks... I just keep going back and forth if I really need it. I do think it would look really good on a pretty low truck
Looks amazing😮💨😍🫶🏻
Thank you bro 🙏
Any rub upon turning to full lock?
Nope no rubbing issues
So what was the handle originally for?
I 3d printed the new handle
Great videos, I'm gonna be doing this to my 2007 Ranger XLT. 🤓
Thank you 👍
The dove though.... Reminds me of when I was a kid....
Was about to subscribe until in seen the ckuhweer swap motor about to go in. I’m sorry you feel that way brother a gen 1 coyote swap would have been way cooler, but then again not my money.
Ah thats okay, maybe Il end up changing my mind and keeping it in thr Ford family. I still have some time to weigh out all the options
Nice 🤟🏾 about to do mines so appreciate the video.
No problem 👍
What shocks are you running in the front and rear?
Theyre from the 4/5 djm kit
Hi legend, do you remember the dimensions on this C-notch?
Im flattered haha but definitely no legend here. I only remember the length and width of the notch before I bent it was 9.25"x3.5" and I believe I made the bends 3inches out from each side. Hope this helps
@@paule01 Thanks!
What cables did you use? This looks perfect for my 1990 Ranger swap
Factory Explorer passenger and drivers side cables and factory Ranger intermediate and front cable
@@paule01 what year Explorer did you specify? Thanks
@@stevebratten6592 1999 Explorer and my Ranger is a 2004 model
Hey dude, I’ve already commented on this video before but I was just wondering if it was difficult to swap the column for an upgraded one with the tilt like you did? Thanks!
Hey, youre welcome to ask as many questions as youd like! Im going to take your recommendation and make an update video soon. If you have anymore questions let me know and I can always answer them in the update. As for the column, It wasn't too difficult, just try and find one thats the same year as your truck so you dont have any problems with different wiring connectors. And be careful with the airbag clock spring. It was totally worth it for the extra knee room though.
@@paule01Thanks for letting me know man, I think I’m gonna do the column upgrade if I can find a good one. As for the wiring & stuff, I plan to just swap all that stuff over if I can.
@@paule01Found a tilt column on Ebay off a ‘98 Explorer, I installed it & everything went great.
@@2H2521 thats awesome to hear! Glad it all worked out 👍
Can u put 2 inch spacers on lower arms if I want to come up 2 inch
I'm in the process of doing this swap on my Ranger, thanks so much for your videos! Making this a breeze for me!!
Happy to help and goodluck with your swap! 👍
Awesome work !
Ty!
Thanks Paul, I agree with @Earthy0 great series. You don't happen to belong to any Ford Ranger forums do you? I have a 2002 Ranger XLT single cab that I did a 4/5 DJM drop on which is what brought me to your channel. I'm still rock'n the stock size tires which is what I wanted but I'm a little stuck, as I don't feel it's road ready because I don't like the uneven gap/space in the front tire wells from side to side. Some may call this the dreaded "Ranger Lean". I'm trying to figure a way to even/offset it in a safe manner and don't say just get you a fat girl lol. Don't know how many time I've seen that one. Thanks for reading my comment. Love your fab shop and the mini sheet metal break, I'm envious. You rock man, great job!
Thanks Neko, Im part of some forums but dont post much. Ah dont let the uneven gap stop you from enjoying your truck, most people would never notice. We only notice because its our vehicle lol. If swapping the leafs like I did in this video doesnt yield enough results I may just get a 1 inch lower block and install it on the passenger side. This should even things out. Hope this helps!
@@paule01 Hmm 🤔, good advice to consider coming from someone more experienced at this than I. Thanks Paul, it will help in considering my options. 👍
Great series. I've been waiting for this video, especially since I'm planning on swapping my axle this summer. Love the way you modded the brackets for the brakes. Mind if I ask what the wheelie thing was that you used to bend the lines?
Thanks :) it takes me forever to make videos but Im glad you waited. The wheel thing was just something I 3d printed to help get round bends because I dont have a proper brake line bender. You can use anything to bend as long as it has the radius you want.
Hey Paul, do you happen to know the size wheel spacer you have in the front? And are you running one in the rear as well?
Hey, I believe it is a 1.25 inch spacer up front and I dont have one in the back
@@paule01 I appreciate the quick response. I’m using your video as a tutorial while doing my DJM kit right now. Thanks!
@@prokill00 thanks, thats awesome to hear! Take your time and let me know if you have any other questions 👍

Thank you!
I wish Ford would have made the tailgate like that for the Ranger. It just looks better!
Fantastic job on the tailgate and roll pan!! They look factory..
Looking great!
Does that have a drum and disc brakes how much did you pay for the part in American dollars
Literally have the same car

I feel like he really wanted us to enjoy watching him lube shafts and bolts with the creepy music
Hi, it is a 3.73 or 4.56 ? I have a problem with my ranger its a 1994 2.3 L automatic , and when I buy it I never check the differential and don't have to much power an the differential its a 3.73 / 8.8,....
It is a 3.73
FWIW: If you want a drop in 8.8 31 spline rearend for your Ranger, find one out of a 2002 FX4 Off Road, or a 2003 FX4 Level II. They both came with 31 spline axles and Torsen differentials.
That is very true, except they wont have disc brakes :(
Wild how pretty you got that.
A guess a grinder and a little paint goes a long way lol
I just picked up a first gen tailgate to try and do the same thing on my 2004. Any tips?
I would say take lots of time with your metal work because it will save you time later when you do your bodywork
Hey good looking tail lights, you could add a single element bulb to the lower opening and make it a running light or and extra stop/turn light.? Plus do you, or could you share the link of where you purchased those. I too have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge, just like your model, but in white. Thank you and hello from Florida
Hey, youre right and adding the extra bulb would be a great idea. I got the tail lights from aftparts.com
@paule01 thank you, and after I asked you where you bought them, I look at you info and saw the AFT place, your truck looks Amazing and those clear tail lights really make your truck......!, when I was younger, I was in a couple of mini truck clubs, had an 1988 Isuzu pick up slammed, with all the speakers, bed cover, shaved roll pan, frenched license plate, everything in the mid 80's thru the 90's down in Miami, FL. The good old days. Miss those days. Your truck is a good looking truck. I want to do the same with the tail lights on my 02 ford ranger edge. Thank you my friend, have a wonderful sunday.
Thanks so much for the kind words and your Isuzu sounds like it was awesome! Im sure you'll like the tail lights, every now and then I switch back and forth between these clears and factory red ones just to change it up
hello, I need some information, I bought the same telescopic suspension kit with everything but I didn't receive the anti-roll bars and I'm interested if you can give me a complete measurement and a measurement of the middle part between the bushings
Do you mean the length or diameter of the sway bar?
I'm referring to the stabilized bar ends, I'm interested in their length because having the kit from djm they are clearly not standard
I'm referring to the part you edit in this video at minute 5:00
The complete length side to side is approx 45 inches and the length of the shaft in between the bushings at the end is approx 5 inches
Thank you very much
Phenomenal job!
Ty!
My bed side is metal and I have an 04 ranger too (not an edge)
My 93 ranger splash came with a 8.8 rear and front/ rear sway bar
Those Splash models had some pretty nice upgraded options
