Simone Lobbia is a Perth (WA) based composer published by Wirripang (NSW).
Over the years Simone has worked with various orchestras and chamber music ensembles as a
professional violin player and composed instrumental and vocal art music that has been performed in
Australia and Europe. He also composes pedagogical repertoire which is regularly played by Australian
ensembles.
He is Artist in Residence at the Fremantle Arts Centre 2023 along with paper print specialist and visual
artist Andrew McDonald. He is the recipient of the ASME (Australia Society for Music Education)
“Augment and Inspire” award 2020 and has been selected for the “Growing your own” ANCA WA
(Australian National Choral Association) project 2021.
Simone is currently Instrumental Teacher (Violin/Viola) and Orchestral conductor at IMSS (Instrumental
Music School Services).

The title and lyrics are a poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe written for Charlotte von
Stein, a writer and close friend of his who had a great influence on his work. Goethe and
Charlotte had an intimate relation that was, for the most part, a true marriage of minds and
span for many years. The poem was included in one of the 1500 letters he wrote to her.
My intention in this composition is to honour the beauty of the poem with a musical score

@@geoycs A440 is the standard set by the International Standards Organization (ISO), but it has never been used by everybody. Many orchestras in Europe, and many in the USA for example, tune to 442Hz
