Quick video of restoring this rusted rear set from the Yamaha Fazer 600 project. Please subscribe, like and share.
Very well done, and most inspiring. It looks great again.
Once that movement starts (scary noises at the front) get more release spray in the gap.
Do you happen to know if I can get to the valve cover like this on a 99 as well? I'd imagine it's pretty much the same no?
Local shop charges over $200usd for oil change. I had to ask twice because it didn't register lol. I said ok thank you watched your video and realized it literally couldn't be any easier to change the oil on this bike lol. And save over $150!! That's allot if goodies for the bike cheers for the awesome video
Glad you saved some money. The local shops aren’t ripping you off, they just have to cover their costs. Paying their technician, insurance, tax, pensions costs etc. If you can do it yourself safely then you win
@@stormmotorcycles893 did my oil change today...after getting belly pan fairing off entire oil change was 10 min. And honestly i was just waiting for it to stop dripping so it could've been done in 5 min if i didn't wait for every spec to come out lol. Putting the fairing back on properly proved extremely aggravating. I'm online now looking at some quick fasteners because that was ridiculous. Would you have any recommendations?
Currently in the process of putting my 1999 back together. Would anyone here happen to know how that front tensioner for the timing chain goes back in? The manual is not very clear as to how it is installed. Many thanks
Does the recomended volume of oil in the manual include that wich is in the filter or is that the complete total?
Job done 👍 good filming 👌
Was this because you had leaky headers?
good vid. You can also 'shock' the thread by striking the thread, which can make a difference to help break the corrosion. Medium size stud extractors work well if the worst should happen.
Do the floats stick often? I had a problem the other day when the bike failed to fire and flattened the battery as a result of me trying to start the engine (I checked the engine cut off switch). First time the bike has even done this to me since my ownership over 12 months ago. I was under the impression no fuel was reaching the carbs and I had a full tank of fuel. I eventually got the bike started again when I recharged the battery.
Nice work 👍
Thanks for letting us see your progress 🙂
Love watching this sort of engineering no drawings or plans just make it up as you go. Brilliant !! Cannot wait to see the finished product.👍👍
Job well done..nice to see this sort of work carried out in conditions like in the garden and kitchen like most viewer's unlike some vloggers who have huge workshops rammed with very expensive bikes.
Hey brother I have a 2004 vtr 1000 super hawk that was semi converted to a street fighter.. it's just missing the right and left side fairings.. can u point me where I can get them and how do I install them on the left side I see where u do it on the right lol... HELP PLEASE :)
Just picked up a VTR useful info here thx for video 👍
Took my VTR pipes off last week. disasembled all the individual parts, cleaned them all, new gaskets all round and will be polishing the pipes back to mirror. It takes forever and a day, but very rewarding in the end ;). I won't paint them though. Still could need a good tip on how to keep them 'shiny' for as long as possible.
btw, I sheared one of those wire ends in my block (front cylinder), so that was a lot of fun :D... Tapped it out and re tapped it. Went well luckily
Well done chap the more storm video the better
Good work 👍
Just bought a 98 vtr and getting delivered next week. I suspect your videos will come in very useful. 🥺 Great instruction mate, well done great video 👍
@@stormmotorcycles893 I can't wait, always had twins but never owned a honda before 👍
Thanks man! I just got this bike and wanted to make sure I did the change correctly because this bike was a little different from my old one
@@stormmotorcycles893 heck ya! Love your hawk btw. Super clean
Thanks so much mate. I was having troubles discerning which bolt was the sump plug.
did you have any snapped valve cover bolts and seized spark plugs.
Hi, great video very helpful. My front carburetor has flooded completely to the point its filled the air filter box with fuel, would you have any idea what could cause this fault. Many thanks in advance.
Bad float needle jet.
A lot of bikers will not do this but I have always serviced my bikes and Thank you for your Advice mate :)
I have a 2002 vtr1000 but it has a carb backfire
Why do i keep gettimg carb backfire?
Part of the vtr experience...
Subs from me
Hi Dave nice to see you bud
Yes I am well thank you, nice too see that your are still loving the bikes. I still have mine zx10
Good tip not to overtighten the drain plug. The previous owner of my VTR did just that... maybe out of fear of losing it. No chance of getting that b*tch out, I had to drill it out after the head was round. Big fun when the oil starts to flow... replaced it with a screw with a 17 mm head and used a torque wrench. Next oil change is in 3000 miles, I hope it will come out fine.
Super helpful, my air filter exploded into the carbs now I have to clean it up
Excellent mate thank you:)
thanks sir you just saved my life.
