Pilots Headset on 6900 CB Radio
Просмотров 205Год назад
Can you use a Pilots headset on a CRT 6900 style CB Radio, yes you can. This only applies to recent models with the ability to use elect-ret microphones, but will worth trying especially on SSB in VOX mode. Ken

How do you find this radio Ken ? Im looking for something with ssb and i kikd of like the look of this . Cheers William
Very good. I'm sure this will help people to ascertain the accuracy of their meter. A mass produced item is probably not checked for accuracy so tolerance of resistors make a difference and also unmatched diode characteristics will affect the readings. Replacing one fixed resistor with a potentiometer and adjusting until the readings are the same would sort out the errors. I made a Wheatstone Bridge resistive SWR meter and calibrated it with known resistor values. 100 Ω is 2:1. 200 Ω is 4:1 and so on. The great thing about this meter is the tx never sees above a 2:1 SWR when adjusting aerials. The downside is that it must be taken out of circuit in use because it will consume half your power, so just go off the internal C.B. meter to monitor any changes in use. G4GHB.
It suppose to sounds like that more on the 800hz to 4000hz level to cut in the audio pile ups in SSB mode. But this sounds great in AM mode a real punch audio defined clear. If you would get a device equaliser reverb box it would sound better and balanced.
Hello Ken, Since a couple of months I have two Midland 78 Plus (orange display version, light bulbs didn`t work anymore, replaced now with LEDs) CB radios which I found on a Flea-market. Both were in a beat-up, horrible and dirty condition. After cleaning, repairing and adjustments/alignment, both are up and running now. I like these 90`s Midland CB radios but the only complaint I have with both of them is the high pitched "tinny" sounding audio coming from the speaker.. After watching your video of the speaker sound issue, I guess you mean the same? Weak stations with static/noise conditions are hard to listen to, almost like the radio is off-frequency, or AM like.. noise gets in the way of understanding the voice. Local stations are no problem, but the sound still is "thin" like you say.
buon giorno, la mia radio pni e` fuori frequenza di mezzo khz , sai come fare per centrare la frequenza? ottimo video grazie
Hi Ken great video where do I find software for my same kpo cb to reset my channels also usb drivers thanks
This looks perfect! I have loads of Karaoke CDs I ripped to WAV & Mp3, Im unsure how or if I can use them with software like this. I'm missing the fundamentals really in what file types I need to get started with my karaoke setup. Can anyone point me in the right direction? cheers 🙂
The d 104 mic will sound tinny ranges from 400hz to 5000hz that is the range of those mics and also the diapham is made if tin foil that makes that tin bright sound.
Calibration centres don’t calculate your test they simply check the accuracy on a fancy check box that has two Digital displays , one will show a none value the try set the second display will show the value on your test if both matches the first display they it a pass . Manufacture’s only recommend that you have your tester calibrated twelve months from date of purchase, the don’t say very twelves months. You are correct you say you don’t agree with calibration annually . It’s an unnecessary money grab . Think about it , you’re fancy flat screen Television is full of resisters and other electronic components do you have to have your television calibrated no you don’t. I have just checked my thirty year old Robin MFT that hasn’t been calibrated since 1992 and it’s is spot on I check it on my Kewtech FC2000 check box which I do once a month along with my other test instruments. The NICEIC only requires that we check the ongoing accuracy at least once a month and keep a whiten record dated for each month.
is this still available thank you
What’s incredible though is the police ignore it. They know where they are and what they do. I’m sure the police are corrupted. They take a percentage. Benidorm is not a safe place. Not if you have police that can’t even stop petty crime like this. It’s gypsies that do it but the police have no excuse and in on it. I spoke to them three years This has been happening so for so long I can’t remember in Benidorm.
Interesting to see this I just ordered some resistors and banana socket
Great clip and valued info from your expertise, many thanks for this info Ken.
I know that problem getting swr right I was in shed then up adjusting then back in shed to test.
The "weighting" of the signal being sent to the meter from Forward and Reverse is likely different, so as to provide the right SWR meter readings. Flipping it around is going "around" those distinct weightings - I would not conclude the meter is bad from this test.
Blessed love my brother, great videos as usual bro, can you help me get two head crystals for my two D104 microphone, please an thanks, watching from Jamaica west Indies !!.
I was caught bad by the potato men in Benidorm. It said outside the chip shop Fresh Fish and Chips. That'll do for me, in i go. Well neither the fish or potatoes were fresh, i was well and truly hooked, in fact…….wait a minute….it's different potato men here isn't it?
CRT SS6900 V7 NRC blue display AM-FM-SSB. Has a delay time on FM. From transmit to received . Can anything be done about it?
It sound very good. I just bought on, a D104 with the TUG-8 base and I'm going to leave mine stock.
Hi Ken, thanks for this. I have an issue with my OpenKJ where break music will play one song and then stop, with the next track in the playlist highlighted yellow: do you have any suggestions? Ideally it would just keep playing the tracks one after the other, and repeat over again when it comes to the end of the playlist.
hope you did a tutorial on how Bingo makes in python.. its a great help for us new python user.. thanks again
thanks sir ken
thanks sir... can i download sir?
Hi Ken is this still free ??
Thank you your vedio was very helpful you made my day
Hi, Ken. I have just downloaded your brilliant Bingo software. This is the type I was looking for as I help run an Oddfellows meeting in a local pub, once a month. We usually play with tickets that have 75 numbers on. Do you have, or a 75 number version? Oddfellows are a friendly society, whose district branches each raise money for a local charity each year. Thanks for your good work in supplying free software.
Ken, how do I contact you I need to reset my CBXpats email password?
Hello Ken , Thank you for sharing , unfortunately the CRT 6900N has a different menu system to the DX 6000 Powerline & from what I can gather the CRT 6900N does not have Electret option facilities , just dynamic .
did you have to plug into the board? i used a charging cord that fit to the back of the radio, but it would not transfer data.
Great video sir, waving from my tech bench. 73👋🏻
Does it avoid repeated numbers within a game
just wondering how antenna is after one year as five recently installed the same internal at my own property in London and it's working very well
How did u wire the gain knob into the circuit?
Ken, thanks a lot for this! I got an extra president mic for mine (dynamic, not electret) but I find that the tiny CRT M6 mic sounds fuller and more bassy and the President thinner. I haven’t tried removing the 4th pin some people advise. I have one issue with the CW, I wonder if you can advise: if I start keying dots … … … the very first dot is omitted, all the rest are good. Then if I stop for one second and restart again the very first dot is omitted. As if some mechanical relay kicks in slowly, stays stuck then unsticks after a second of inactivity and it has to slowly stick in again, omitting the first dot in this process. Very annoying..
No follow up in use?
Very helpful information!
I have a Micronta meter very similar to that one. My FWD and REF switch is to the left of the calibrate dial though
This was very informative! Thanks for making this video! I have an SWR meter that I just bought used that I suspect is not functioning because I’ve connected it to 2 different CB radios and the meter never moves. The one CB is brand new. I think I’m gonna have to open up the meter itself and have a look inside. That’s really cool about reversing the dummy load and making it understandable about the change in operation of the switch.
Great Content . Does this convertion still apply to the 6900 N ? And do you know if the SS69000N have a hidden menu for the backlight ( as mine is very dim ) or would i need to send it of for a repair !! ??
Great work.. shame i haven't come across a similar hack for the SS 6900N😊
150ohm are thr standard value for thruline type meters such as these
Hi Ken very interesting, can you give out the microphone pin out for the microphone ie what is tx ,audio, common, up down ,thx Tim.
It makes even less difference if the station you are working is local, but outside the ground wave distance. Turning the power up doesn't really help in that scenario. It increases signal strength within that zone though.
A check box is exactly that but a calabration check by a certified independent tester helps with insurance indemnity. I hand my tester into an electrical wholesaler for £48 and worth every penny
Hello, I am hoping that you could send me the meaning of all of those abrv. settings in the hidden service menu settings list. I only have 4 of them figured out and thank you for any help you can give me.
Great video, just a heads up that with 480p it can be hard to read the text on the screen so I'd recommend higher resolution videos if you make any more future content! Hope you have a great weekend!
end it
Brilliant thank you.
The two flute notes at 1:15 get me every time.
Dear Mr. Ken thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love to see your videos. Best regards for you and your family, Marco
