Hey Shawn, from looking at the Amazon page and website there seems to be no information about the actual material the bristles are made from. I'd recommend contacting them to find out whether this is PLA or another form of plastic so you know how to correctly dispose of the head.

Hey! Thanks for your comment. Without a photo of what you're referring to, it is a little hard to say. But it may be other organisms like shellfish.

I completely agree that stuffed animals shouldn't be thrown in the bin. And unfortunately, we breathe a lot of it in when we handle them. Putting lint in a jar is a very good idea. But using them as firelighters is not a good idea, because the fumes will be toxic and so will the ashes. And the chemicals in the ash will seep into the soil the next time it rains. Then into the water tables, then into the rivers and oceans if the poluted water hasn't been pumped out beforehand for drinking. And when the plastic from the cuddly toys reaches the sea, it will be ingested by krill, shellfish and the fish we eat. The only solution is to NEVER again buy clothing made from synthetic fibres (or blends). And to use and wash the clothes we already have as little as possible. The Guppyfriend bag is a good idea, but the plastic dust just passes through the ground (more or less quickly depending on the path our rubbish takes) instead of going straight into the sewage system. It's only a matter of time, but it doesn't solve the problem.

You can actually save up all of the lint in a jar and use it as a fire starter if you do camping or have a fire pint. I am not sure how safe it is to use it but they taught us the trick in girl scouts and I have been packing my lint into a maskn jar ever since. I like this rather than tossing it in the trash just because if i toss it I don’t know where it will end up.
