Просмотров 9373 месяца назад
The M101-4 series is one of the most well-known of the M101 Sporting News card issues. This classic set is famous for producing what is considered by many in the hobby to be Babe Ruth's rookie card. This legendary set is often called The Sporting News set, but numerous local advertisers used these cards in their own sets, such as the Altoona (PA) Tribune version seen on this episode of Pawn Sta...

Out of bounds??? WTF 😮
Another great 👍 one ☝️ 🎉
I had the pleasure of meeting Lenny Randle last year when I lived in California. He spoke to me and my nephew about his playing days for the Yankees & several teams in the Majors. Such a class act to hear him speak about his experience in life & the majors . My condolences to his family.
RIP Lenny Randle. He was 75.
The biggest sports trade between two countries. At first, I think McNall saw Gretzky as a gimmick to achieve his end. He would later understand how real of a person he is.
Carmen Fanzone from that set had a better life out of baseball than in it: He became a trumpet player in the Tonight Show band behind Doc Severinsen. Sweeeeeeet!
RIP Lenny. You will be missed ❤
RIP Lenny Randle! You will be missed!
R.i.p I never heard of him until today. Baseball was better for having him in it by all accounts.
I’m sure you have different procedures based on the situation and card so basically it’s on a card by card basis
Oj got records. Merc got Rings. Finsup🎉
Pocklington was a poor business man. No vision ! No brain ! How you can let go an asset like Wayne Gretzky with all the players in that club who will be for a big majority of them HOF. Fuhr, Coffey, Messier, Anderson, Low, Kurri, and I’m sure a forgot others.
Rip Rocky.
Hard to believe there was any overlap of Doby and Colavito. Larry didn't hit any homers after 1958
Yo I'm only 1/3 into your little documentary and it deserves way more views and comments I'm really enjoying it thank you🙏🏽⚾️
I ruined lots of cards, jncluding a 1933 Lou Gherig, by putting it in a photo album, which ripped the back end of the card all up. I got the Gherig for my 8th grade graduation, and didn't know any better.
Try moving a team one week before a season starts now
My legit fav player maybe
You didn't mention he played for Adolph Rupp at Kentucky and a 1st team all-american and SEC player of the year
Well done 👍 🎉
Well done my friend 🎉
And yet no Hall of Fame? Why?
The pitcher was actually Milt Wilcox
Time heals all wounds. This is epic these two reliving the times
I've got an unopened wax box of the 1981 Topps football cards. I picked it up at a flea market around 1985 for $10. Also have an unopened 1984 Topps Football cello box, same cost $10. Those were the days...
Well done
In the late '70's I inherited my [much older] brother's cards from the late '50's, and among them was a '59 Hoyt Wilhelm. 36 years old, reaching the end of his career, no big deal. A few years later, when I got seriously into cards, I acquired a bunch of '72's. Lo and behold, who is on one of those cards, but 49-year old Hoyt Wilhelm, pitching for the Dodgers! My mind was absolutely blown!
Great call by the older kid - Ruth (and not Canseco) cards are better investments in the long run 👏
Upper Deck changed the card game in `89.
Topps was the definition of flooding the market😂. You could buy complete set boxes by the 1,000s 0:15
That one kid who thought there were too many mini sets back then... Wonder what he thinks today!
I’m wondering if you can help. This debate has been going on for a long time and even the players won’t confirm who is pictured. 1975 Topps #459, Dick Green, Dal Maxvill, and Ted Kubiak are the leading candidates.
Hasn’t changed in 40 years.
The adults were spot on lol
Here cuz of the world series what a legend 🎉
I almost built my entire set from GMC cards. Keep up the great work.
You won’t let me bid on your cards. 🤷🏻♂️.I accidentally made a bid way to high and you said it was cool I not pay. Now I can’t bid on your stuff. Check my history. I pay fast.
They didn't have to have the best facial hair. If they grew any mustache they got 300
Not often you find a guy who thinks on his feet, gets on his knees, and throws them bows
Steroid era baseball*
That one with the handwritten bio is sorta wholesome 😂
He also went on to play on Mission Impossible of the 70s
I didn't. Huge Yankees fan but bigger baseball fan and I just loved stats 😂
Go Pilots👍
The 1980 World Series was a great one. I am from Philly so the Phillies are my team. Every time he came to bat he scared the sh*t out of me. Mike Schmidt is the best third baseman of all time IMO but George Brett was right behind him, they both played great in that series.
Blushing scammer…sad.
Shut up, Rick
Awesome video even though it was a fake
