This is what it's like to climb a 200 ft tall stack. I do this occasionally for my job. This is part 1 of 4 for the first stack.

This is a video of my buddy Larry's 1988 Dodge D150. This was when it was still powered by it's stock 318 V8. It has since been upgraded to a twin turbocharged dual quad Fitech injected 318.

What is the part number on the wheels??
You need to show more of that beautiful car way to short of video
We will most definitely have more of Bob's car come spring. Right now we're working on his brother Larry's '64 Plymouth Barracuda. We alternate between the '73 Dart Sport, the '64 Barracuda, his other brother's 13000 original mile 1977 Chrysler Lebarron and my 418 powered 1969 Dart Swinger 340. Probably some video of Larry's 408 stroker engine in a few months.
Thats sounds awesome! What's the full setup?
You can buy round ferrite chokes for this. Use them in pairs and you wrap the harness around the the choke at each end of the harness. Hold them in place with a cable tie or heat shrink the entire harness with the chokes inside the heat shrink. There are also ferrite beads which you can string along the length of the harness (the more the better and you heat shrink them in place too). You can run chokes and beads. Also of interest is you can buy clip on chokes (also only used in pairs and they look nicer. ** I'm unsure whether the plastic in the clip on ones are able to be reliably used in a hot engine compartment. Radio supply (ham radio) or electronic supply stores will have them. The way you have solved this problem is quite clever. I'm impressed
Moved on from the blower?
Yeah, I was happy with the blowers performance but it creates a lot of heat. It was on my engine since 1988 so I felt like it was time for a change. The new engines performance is phenomenal, it breaks the tires loose at 1/4 petal at 35 MPH. I will need drag radials.
Glenn Schubert gotcha. I actually started following your videos from the fitech on the blower install - I'm getting ready to do the same on my 174. Good luck with the new setup - it looks quite healthy! The last 440 I build was fun, but mopar has gotten really expensive around here, so I've moved on to cheap and fun Ford 5.0 stuff. I may need to grow my mullet back at age 47.
Dump the aircleaner...
How is that Fitech working with the blower?
Thanks for the heads up. Nice simply fix. I am dropping in a new big block with Fitech. I,ll watch for this now.
Yea that EMI noise is killing me too! I get spikes on the display that will jump to 2k-3k throwing off the IAC, making it rich. To make things even harder my MSD box is in the trunk making for a long run. I'm going to move my MSD box to the engine bay and shield the wires like you did. Thanks for making this video.
Absolutely, just feel free to ask any questions.
Sweet rig Glenn! I wish fitech would release the mulit port system (with power adder version). I want to slap it on my 352 stroker Comet (11.12 sec, 123 mph). lol !
Thanks Rocky, I don't know when they're going to release the multi-port version. It's certainly something I would consider. I love the old Comets they are a very cool car that (like the Dart) doesn't get enough respect. I like them a lot more than a Mustang or Falcon.
Thanks Glenn. Actually, it's the Maverick clone version (1973), but I still enjoy it. Keep up the good work !
Nice car
Thanks Chris
you want to SET your steps at warm idle. Start the car up, let it get up to operating temp. shut it off and turn your throttle adjustment screw in half a turn so it picks up the new parameters, start the car and make sure your tps reads zero, if it doesnt, let it idle a minute, turn it back off and back on again. It should now have its new parameters to read zero, then turn the screw in or out accordingly so your iac steps are between 4-10. Let it idle a few minutes, then shut it off and back on and it will start learning its new parameters and trimming from there. hope this helps. oh by the way im not a dodge guy by any means, but ive always thought if done right the dart could look pretty tough. Only my opinion but i think it would off set everything better and have a cleaner look if you paint the drums black. or even a gunmetal wouldnt look bad. Just my opinion, your car. I do wish you put some dry lube on those door hinges though! >:O
Thanks Jeremy, I will give that a try
Nice looking ride...I don't have a FiTech unit yet but I plan on buying one for the Firebird I'm building over on my channel. I think you need to bump up the crank fuel and warmup settings in the unit until you get it to start w/o touching the pedal and it idles and warms up. Just remember small adjustments and turn the key off for a good 30 seconds after making the changes just to be safe.
Thanks for the advise and comments on my Dart Good luck with your Firebird.
