My recommendation for cameras from Minolta are the 70, 5, 800si, 9xi, and the 9. And they can all share the same lenses. And these lenses also work on my Sony A350. I believe all have eye start so as soon as your hand contacts the sensor strips on the grip the camera wakes up. And when the sensor in the eyepiece senses your face it starts focusing and reading exposures. By the time your finger is on the shutter button there is very little to do. It can be very fast. the 9 is ok but way more expensive, heavier, does not have scene presets, and some have leaky lcd screen in the viewfinder on the right side that blocks viewing aperture and compensation settings. However that info does show on the top lcd screen. The 9xi has a fast 12,000 speed shutter and it still uses the custom function cards. Some of these cards are silly, but I like the multi spot card that will average several spots and the High Low card for exposing for the shadows or the highlights just by turning the card on The 7 can have two problems. It has a large screen on the back kinda like a digital camera for viewing parameters . There is a Japanese only language version that cannot be changed…beware. And the earlier versions have a problem with the aperture motor gear. The gear is synthetic and can split which makes the camera mostly unusable. And it’s buried deep in the chassis. Lots of unsoldering on FCBs. The 5 is light weight the only problem I’ve found is the penta-mirror (not penta-prism) can have a problem with yellowing. It does not affect the film only the viewing in the viewfinder. Some of the si series suffer from degrading exterior rubber surfaces. If you have one it’s easily stripped fixed with a layer of Sugru putty. Everyone but me does not like the xi series lenses. They have a power zoom and glass optics which I find pretty sharp. And are very inexpensive on the auction site. The 7xi also uses the power zoom in an auto mode to maintain subject size as subject as subject moves toward or away from your camera. It’s a power zoom feature. My favorite is the 800si. It has a face only a photographer can love but it has a huge built in flash. To me it has a very satisfying shutter sound and it’s easy to use with my large hands. Unless you are really careless with cameras do it be afraid of the polymer bodies. For the most part they are rugged enough. If these cameras have not been abused they generally work well. Except for the one with barbecue sauce inside. Hope this helps someone return to film. For me I use film for B&W and digital for color. I like them all

The Canon 1N HS is not expensive and a joy to use. All my EF glass for my Canon 5DS and 5D Mark II also works on the Canon 1N HS. For my big hands, nothing feels better than the Canon 1N HS with a battery grip. Similarly, the Nikon F4 and F5 are wondrous machines and use all of my F mount glass that I use with my Nikon D610 and D800e cameras. Another bonus for film is fun films like Lomo Purple, Infrared film, ultra-fast grainy ISO 3200 black and white film, ADOX CMS II film, etc.

I have a pair of F3T's with a bunch of lenses, bought 30+ years ago, that have not seen the light of day for the last 20 years or more. It's time to get them out!

Totally agree with your F80/N80 Nikon camera recommendation. I've owned 3 copies of the F100, and each had reliability issues eventually. The F80 just keeps going (tho the film door hinges are fragile!).

the A1 its my fav fd mount camera, a bit heavy but small, but was the most complete of that line, the eye cap its removable and are made of rubber so they brake a lot . regards.

There is an english version of the book, I have the book for de 9Xi but there is a book för the 7Xi too. There is a data card 2 you card is the original data card for the dynax/maxxum 7000i and 8000i I think.

Thanks for recording this - It worked for me. I had also select the 115200 port that made it work. BTW I am on Windows 10. Unluckily after the update my Crane cant balance no longer my Sony rx100V - it seems it is to light for the Gimbal.

Hi Miki it was a pretty simple model in the engine, have you worked with much complex projects or have you tried UE5.x too?

This was an awesome tip....it got me past that error but I still get a "minimum system requirements" error....I am trying to build several VMs using my Win11 Pro MSI Katana GF66 laptop. I have done my research and discovered that when installing Win11 for VMs MS REQUIRES the VM be a Gen2 which is what I am selecting. I am not installing any sort of server OS I am trying to build W11 client machines. Small rant here - "Thanks Microsoft you can tell us "doesn't meet minimum requirements" but you cannot tell us what the minimum requirements are or how to correct it......

The 3D effect you and others see is because there are three color emulsions on the film. The layers are stacked with yellow on the bottom, cyan on top of that with a top layer of red. Especially when the slide is magnified in a viewer of this kind, you will perceive the different depths of these layers. It's very noticeable with a red flower seeming to pop from the image compared to the plant's greenery surrounding it.
