The Woodland Trust own Snakey Copse but it's now spoilt forever!
Snakey Copse is situated to the west of Kingskerswell and formed part of a beautiful backdrop to the village. However 2013 has seen construction start of the Kingskerswell Bypass aka the South Devon link Road.
This video shows the environmental impact to Snakey Copse of this scheme. A number of mature oak trees were also felled which stood on the route which was sad.
It was disappointing that when asked, The Woodland Trust failed to register an objection during the consultation process, which included a Public Enquiry.
You can also see water abstraction taking place which could possibly have contributed to the local stream drying up down by the church?

A short film recording the beauty and tranquillity of Kingskerswell before the construction of the South Devon link Road ( aka SDLR ) commenced. Interestingly the film features a land mark tree set in the fields behind St. Mary's Church, a point visible from most of the village.
