Whoever that customer was, they have great taste. What a beautiful knife.
Thanks, that knife was fun to make.

I've seen a lot of anthill castings, but I've never seen one with ants and eggs in it!
That's what I'm talking about 😍 beefy knife bushcraft
Try to make it with WoodPrix plans :)
Классный нож👍👍👍
THAT IS NOT GOLD THERE..
NAW..
I have been cutting and mounting antler scales for my knives for several years. I learned something here with your technique with the blue tape and super glue. Here's how I cut a piece of antler in half. Take a small square of plywood and lay down a puddle of silicone. Imbed the antler in the silicone so that you can slice off a scale with a saw. I use my table saw for this but a band saw with a fence will work too. Then swap the block around and reset the saw to slice off a second scale. This gets you close to the thickness you desire. Final sanding can be done simply by holding the scale in your hand just as you showed. However, you can remount the scale flat side up on another block of wood with silicone. The block provides a better hold of the scale to sand to the final thickness. The rest of the process is the same as you described. Nice job!
Did you use superglue on the wood and g10 liners? Or did you use any 2 part epoxy aside from the final glue up?
How many Kg's did you get out of those and how long did it take to melt a 1000 cans?..just curious lol
Cool video I really enjoyed it
Oh. That was almost a great pour
Thanks. I'm about to watch. I was about to try it out .. let's see if I should just wait for the clay to get here
Looks like I'm gonna go out and get some dirt. Lol😂
Why does the wood have to be cut to stabilize it? Can't it just be stored in a dry place?
You don't have to cut it to stabilize it. It's just easier to fit in the pot. Drying it helps, but for a knife handle, it was to make sure it isn't brittle and that it will last.
@@ForgingFish thank you! 🤍
Nice knife! Is there a reason for using the brass lining in between the tang and the antler scales besides it looking cool? Does the brass serve a functional purpose?
Cut it on a tarp or plastic tray.
What is the profit? If you do sell that aluminum.
Pretty nice
Thanks!
Very nice. I like that handle!
Thanks 👍
How long did you put the applewood in the oven for to remove the moisture?? And what temp?
How much salt do you put to water ratio ?
Got it 👍 but what if the bones are sanded before pouring the molten metal on them
If you need to bring back color to faded antler & stabilize them what is the procedure. 1) color 2) slab & shape 3) stabilize. Or? What do you use to stabilize? What to color?
Do you color if the antler is bleach. What to use? Do you stabilize. If so before or after coloring.
Why do you not stabilize the wood first? All of the wood you mentioned HAS to be stabilized before using in a knife handle or it will twist/warp as it dries or if knife is used in a damp environment. It’ll hang on for a few years but it will eventually falter.
Thanks for the video. I'm about to make my first scales and you've helped no end 👍
My knife makin friend says to grind after heat treat could help, maybe but fine work, therapeutic
Good work,tough to do?
Beautiful bowie love to have one just like it awesome job
I've always wondered how an aluminum rabbit stick or throwing stick would hold up.
What section of the river is this on?
How many lbs did you get?
There are gaps in the bolster, otherwise looks good, handy shape of decent knife. It's nice to see somebody to heat treat the steel well, in these days you can see crazy stuff on YT.
For sale?
Man that is a beautiful knife👍
Great job. 👍👍
So whats the best wood in terms of absorption capabilities??
The softer the wood, it tends to absorb more. Harder/ oiler woods will absorb less if any.
Nice i dont like using antlers that smell stays with you
Honestly I don't see any bones here And what I was wondering was if I can Pour lead inside a hollow femur for a cane handle
I like your videos. Would you be willing to make a set of scales for one of my knives?
I'm looking to see if someone can make me a set of scales for my Giant Mouse GMF1 m390 PVD. Could you make a set?
Thanks great video
Would this work on old bone?
What steel did you use for this knife?
1084 or 1075
I was wondering can you do a big block like 18x7x5?? Like this?
It's like a smurf murder scene, haha.
Where can I find the honey comb at?
Dope AF results, @ForgingFish! Now it needs an equally dope sheath/scabbard to complete the package!
