Great ep as usual. I will admit, I dont get why "playing well is good, actually" is a controversial take! Obviously nobody complains about the 3 points, but it is just a statement about the expectation for the reat of the season. Hard to see how the sheer number of lucky one goal wins doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. (Also, like Charlie mentioned on last weeks pod, it is just more fun to watch a team play well!)

Love the pod as normal. I really don't see Mulls coming good this season. I think the two injuries have taken something from his came. Also from a S&C perspective I feel he gets eased off ball alot this season. Leading to arm flapping frustration. I hope I am wrong

This is how you win in League 1. Grow up. Go look at other teams close to us and they are lucky to be winning at all given their lack of grit. Defense counts. Its how you win promotion over the long haul. We will get offensive production by the end of March and this team will become brutal for anyone to deal with.

The strongest defence set up I’ve seen this Season was in the Vertu Trophy, we played 3 at the back and Max playing sweeper. It was solid. It played to Max’s strengths as he started out as a midfielder and he really suited being able to push up a bit more.

Thank you so much for mentioning my comment from last week regarding a formation change to 4 at the back. For what it’s worth, out of possession, nothing would really change as we could still be 3 at the back with Gorgeous George dropping back to form a 3 with O’Connell and Max. It’s just in possession, it would give us a little more creativity because Lee and Mullin (or Marriott) could both be on the pitch racing into those pockets or half spaces on either side of a Palmer or Fletcher. We would still have Barney bombing up the wing on the right. McLean would invert into midfield in possession on the left side. I know I’m dreaming here and in Parky we trust etc… but if it’s more creativity we are looking for to unlock some goals, then Parky needs to be more creative in terms of approach as well.

Furthermore, I have no sympathy for defenders who extend their arms away from their bodies whilst trying to block a shot.
