To be honest, we never had any issues so far with the PS5. Of course, if the customer has any issues after the repair, we do it in warranty period. The only time when we had to replace it, it was when we had to work after someone else, and the whole internal was a mess. On Xbox, we replace it every time with Grizzly pads, as these are falling apart as soon as you take off the cooler. Did you have any issues?

@@southlondonrepair do you have to replace the Liquid Metal or can you use a syringe and collect some and keep trying to get rid of the oxidation and then re spread it with the Liquid Metal

If the Ps5 more than 1 year old, I always replace it, but I keep the 'leftover' in strings. Some newer Ps5 model don't have that much liquid metal on the APU. Unfortunately we opened a 4 months old, because they broke the HDMI port. It had already dry spot on APU. We cleaned and we put it tiny bit extra on, so it could work longer and not burn.

Also if you didn't have empty syringe, you can push temporally in empty clean container the new liquid metal . It's much easier to remove the old liquide metal with syringe, you could avoid the drop it on the mainboard.

Very good question. First we always test that the HDMI output is working with full HD and 4K mode as well. Once the test passed, we fully assembled the playstation. Even when the HDMI looks perfect under a microscope, we had problems once every 8 times.

Very good question. I opened up with a flat blade for a few millimeters, and after I went through with a guitar picker. We are using 0.75mm thick for these delicate parts. You can buy 50 or 100 in a pack with various thicknesses on eBay for a few pounds.

We are bought empty chips, usually 10 at the same time. We saved the nand software from working television. When we don't find for a model, we usually download from BadCaps (find link below). Many of the new nand chip is already has bad cells, so first we check all the chips. Usually a 50% is is returned. Once we have a good chip, we write the dump using one of our programmers. Many times you can see the same problem rebooting, but the problem is in 30% is a bad soldering. I got better after 50 mainboard repair, but still making mistakes. Sometimes the heat can also damage the chip, so if it is not working, sometimes a remove it and verify the firmware. If the chip is damaged, I just replace it.
