It can get pretty wild

No, you can do everything with this on its own. It's multi-timbral with up to 16 separate tracks, so you can have bass on track 1, a lead on track 2, some cinematic pads on track 3, then use the rest for drum sounds (just an example, you can use each track for whatever you want). And then it also has built-in FX and can directly send audio into your PC, so you don't need to buy a separate interface or mixer.

@@BurstupTV is not an invention in electronic music. It comes from the sub bass frequencies bouncing on the old warehouses where the first underground techno music was played. Later on, it became an signature for the genre. So it is particularly important for techno music. You take away that and you kill the genre.

​@@SkeletonJacket I spent some time in those warehouses back in the 90s, so I get the appeal of that raw, rumbling sound. Plenty of people love it! But I don't think that clean kicks would "kill the genre." Loads of techno tracks use clean kicks, and entire subgenres like dub techno, Raggatek/Jungletek or Freetekno avoid that rumble altogether. Personally, I prefer those cleaner sounds, but hey, different strokes for different folks. Peace! ✌

@ of course, different ascetics. But as you know, even a clean kick will create a natural acoustic “rumble sub bass” sound on a big system in a warehouse environment. But sure, I know what you mean.

also wish you could use the level encoder to set the origin point for modulation for velocity. Usually I want it relative to the default velocity, not 0.

@@impboxa 100%. Do you have any recommendations for a small tiny midi controller just for macros?

@@SkeletonJacket I don't have any that I'd recommend unfortunately, but been wanting something similar. It's not perfect but I often use the Digitakt 1's midi tracks as a controller for other gear, plus can launch some samples to fill in for the DN2's lack of samples.

An easily accessible matrix screen would be nice
