I agree I was so close to picking up a syntakt for so long but something wasn’t right, this has come a long and it is everything I want from an Elektron groovebox
I have all the elektron boxes and the syntakt is probably my favourite. It's early days with the digitone 2 but the syntakt can dial in a lot more percussive sounds and a lot more easily. Digitone requires more work. Perfect together (also feeding through analog heat+FX into Digitakt 2!)
@ I’m after something that can get into strange timbre regions and weird modulations so I think the digitone wins for me, but yes if you want a analog synth with good percussion machines the syntakt is good, but I’ve got a rytm so there’s too much overlap for me to get a syntakt
I think they would compliment each other nicely. The syntakt machines are probably faster to dial in as they are not as deep and more specialized. What kept me from buying the syntakt was lack of polyphony and arp, so the digitone II will be my next buy.
@@alienanxietyno he means the digitone 1. The digitone 1 was cool but arguably their most limited box besides the model:cycles and samples which are priced for 1/3 the price. The digitone 2 finally brings it in line with their prior machines like monomachine in terms of features and flexibility.
It's tempting, I would like to know deep sound design to enjoy it but in my case I prefer to incorporate more musical knowledge and that's why I prefer the simplicity of SYNTAKT.
@@abletonflow4673 I do also want to get a syntakt for the same reason. But, I would say that if you enjoy applying more musical theory knowledge the digitone 2 is perfect for that, cause remember is polyphonic
This is the sort of track I could quite easily listen to all day in my headphones, two coffees deep, while I stomp through tasks and get a lot of shit done. Please make this a full track and release it. I'd buy it. That relentless kick and delicious reverb can make a person seem indestructible. Also, I now NEED a Digitone2 to go with my Digitakt 2. So thanks for the GAS!!! 😂❤
@@noodldoodl1970 hahah thanks mate, ok probably build a track from this starting point. Hope you get your digitone 2 soon, is pretty cool and more immediate than the OG
I instantly saw the Digitone ii as an FM drum machine since they made it 16 channels with drum voices. Kind of reminds me a bit of the MD and Monomachine in one box, minus the sample importing.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but: „Rumble“ kickdrums are the worst invention ever in electronic music. Make the kicks phat, hard and kicking, but leave the effing rumble out already.😅
@@BurstupTV is not an invention in electronic music. It comes from the sub bass frequencies bouncing on the old warehouses where the first underground techno music was played. Later on, it became an signature for the genre. So it is particularly important for techno music. You take away that and you kill the genre.
@@SkeletonJacket I spent some time in those warehouses back in the 90s, so I get the appeal of that raw, rumbling sound. Plenty of people love it! But I don't think that clean kicks would "kill the genre." Loads of techno tracks use clean kicks, and entire subgenres like dub techno, Raggatek/Jungletek or Freetekno avoid that rumble altogether. Personally, I prefer those cleaner sounds, but hey, different strokes for different folks. Peace! ✌
@ of course, different ascetics. But as you know, even a clean kick will create a natural acoustic “rumble sub bass” sound on a big system in a warehouse environment. But sure, I know what you mean.

This is what people were hoping the Syntakt would be
I still would like to add a syntakt to the Digitone 2

The Digitone II is awesome. I like it better than my Syntakt already❤
They have finally made the ultimate groovebox that has almost everything (except sampling)
Got mine today, it's an incredible machine! Blows the Digitone away
I was waiting for this upgrade for ages
yeah, for fm synthesis for sure. 😉

Just what I’ve been waiting for looking forward to your future videos I like how you’re going machine by machine many thanks
Thanks 🙏
Excellent presentation! It sounds great.
Sounds sick

I haven’t finish exploring it all. But the potential is huge here
Just got mine today! I see your screen has those minor imperfections at the top like mine too 🤔
@@oside_m5 nah, is just the sticker I haven’t taken off
@ I think I noticed it after I peeled it off. I have a Digitakt 2 to compare to also, and the DT 2 doesn’t have the issue.

Great vid! Thnx :) What stand are you using?
Thanks, is one I 3D printed 😊
Cool work,, just got it today too,, would really like to know how you did that rumble bass,, maybe a tutorial? :)
Shortcut is by cranking up the delay!
Anybody can say where is it made? Poland?
@@void7777-v7t Yes Poland, that was the first thing I noticed because my first digitone was still made on Sweden but this new one in Poland.
Hmm, the machine is great, bought it at release, but the video or demo could be better.
Please make a more thorough demo?
not my kind of content mate
