I think this type of video of idols "singing badly" is very stupid, because it seems like they want to see idols being humiliated on any social network, and there were SEVERAL videos of Twice singing well at that time, but blind people only saw the side "bad" of things. So if you still make this type of video from any group, you are being childish and you should rethink what you are doing.

Do not use encore to judge vocals!!!! I get so tired of saying this ughhhh. ANYONE that has had actual experience singing with a live band or music track knows how insanely difficult it is to begin with, but it gets nearly impossible to sing well when you don't have a sound check and the in-ears/monitors have not been adjusted. It is basically like trying to juggle in the dark. No joke. And this is basically what happens in encores and its the reason that nearly ALL of them are kinda bad. The artists can't hear themselves, all they hear is noise and reverb and heavy bass. Trust me it sucks. So, if you want to actually get an idea of their vocal ability, go watch acoustic sets, live concert sets, and any studio recording videos, stuff like that will allow you to actually judge their vocals. For example, Twice actually has pretty fantastic vocals overall. Obviously some are stronger than others, but I can send anyone that asks for it, multiple videos for each member where you can hear them sing 100% live and they sound great. Jihyo, Nayeon, and Jeonyoung in particular have exceptional vocals!

No soy fan del grupo pero supongo que más que no sean tan buenas cantando se nota su nerviosismo, tanto odio han recibido por sus vocales que son inseguras y por eso se suelen equivocar según mi punto de vista. Twice ha mejorado en los años y el odio no se debe de justificar.

LISTEN - I'm a singer, and in those big venues, even with an ear piece on, hearing yourself is very difficult. not to mention while dancing. They're all heroes

they looked so crushed when they can't hit the notes and mess up. some of these vocals are just unrealistic to hit for some of their vocal ranges especially more than once

honestly it isn't just twice I saw a few other jyp groups that are like this i think vocal training is something that they need to start prioritizing

It’s not like they can’t. They can, it’s just that they haven’t done it in so long that they aren’t used to doing it anymore. All of them sang really well and that’s how they even got into a group to begin with. They just don’t preform live and so they never really needed to practice singing live causing them to lose that ability to.

i think the main problem here is the fact that only three of them have actually been trained to sing. the others are rappers and dancers whose voices aren't 'bad' but you can't rely on when singing freestyle. i think they've leant more into selling mina and momo as the dancers of the group and leant into selling dahyun and chaeyoung as the rappers of the group, that they haven't given them the right time to improve vocally. i mean, why would you feel the need to improve your voice if your constantly going to be sold as the 'rapper'? jyp is ridiculous and i think they really need to start backing off of the controlling and more leaning into improving all the girls because honestly, Momo, mina and chaeyoung have such beautiful voices. they're just rusty and that's probably from the lack of vocal help.

The way these comments are ignoring the fact the reason why their vocals haven’t improved is because they have never actually been trained in their natural range due to the high pitched-ness of their songs, especially early on. That + the company’s focus on dancing more for the group + rising anxiety does not make for a good place to grow from. To become a good, healthy singer, one must have a stable base first. Y’all can choose to hate on them or you can cheer them on to improve and help give them motivation as a collective.
